Chapter 60: Fivefold Discharge

"Erwin, here I come!"

Hermione's voice rang out from the doorway, and as soon as Erwin heard her, the door swung open.

Hermione walked in wearing casual clothes, a t-shirt, and jeans.

After replacing the Hogwarts school uniform, Hermione had a bit more of a lively temperament.

Coupled with her specially groomed hair, she looked cute.

"Come on, Hermione, it's so hot outside. Have some iced orange juice."

At that moment, Erwin was sitting in the main seat of the living room, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses and holding a book in his hand.

This gave him a more refined temperament.

Seeing Erwin like this, Hermione took a few more glances.

He looked so cool wearing glasses.

"What book are you reading today?”

During this period of time, since Hermione had discovered that Erwin bought many books, she often came to his house to read.

After all, the Galleons that could be exchanged with British pounds were limited every year.

She couldn't buy all the books she wanted to read.

So Erwin's house had become Hermione's paradise.

Whenever she was free, she would come here to read books.

"An Alternative Application of Transfiguration." Looking at the book in Erwin's hand, she didn't even recognize the font on the cover, only that it was written in ancient script.

"Perfect timing. Since you just finished that book, I have a present for you."

Hermione looked at Erwin curiously, but in no hurry, she took the book he handed over and began to read.

Soon, the time came to noon.

The two went out to grab some food and then returned home.

Although Erwin had lived alone for so long, he couldn't cook at all, and Hermione was also a housekeeping disaster.

The two of them could only eat out every time.

Back home, Erwin led Hermione to a study on the second floor, which was filled with crucibles and beakers, as well as two cabinets.

One was filled with medicinal herbs, while the other was filled with various metals and other materials.

It was the first time Hermione had come to this room, and she looked around with interest.

She hadn't been exposed to alchemy yet, so she didn't recognize many materials, and could only reluctantly identify some potion ingredients.

Erwin placed a chair on one side of the workbench, and he sat on the opposite side.

Motioning for Hermione to sit down, Erwin examined a cauldron, the contents of which looked like flowing silver.

"What is this for?" Hermione asked curiously.

"Although you have a protective pendant, your attack methods are slightly insufficient. I'm going to help you make up for this shortcoming today."

Stirring the cauldron and extending his wand to sense the mixture, Erwin nodded in satisfaction.

He took out one of those magnifying glasses that Muggles wear on their heads when they fix watches, and picked up a quill.

"Stretch out your hand."

"Oh." Hermione nodded and held out her small hand.

Being stared at and held by Erwin, Hermione felt a little shy and shifted unconsciously.

"Don't move for a while."

Seeing her fidget, Erwin told her gently.

Spreading Hermione's hand out, palm down, Erwin dipped his quill into the alchemical product in the cauldron.

Then, on Hermione's fingernails, he began constantly drawing intricate patterns.

A tingling sensation spread through Hermione's body, making her feel strange.

Although Hermione was curious, she didn't dare to disturb Erwin's concentration.

She could only endure the slight itching on her nails.

After ten minutes, Erwin breathed a sigh of relief.

He had finally finished the magic pattern on the first nail.

After that, his technique gradually became more proficient.

After more than an hour, the magic patterns on all ten fingers were completed.

"Phew!" Erwin took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes to relieve the fatigue caused by concentrating for so long.

Hermione finally couldn't help her curiosity at this point.

"Erwin, what exactly is this?"

Erwin smiled smugly.

This was the demonstration of his achievements in alchemy and magic patterns this semester.

"When you encounter danger in the future, gather your magic power to your right fingers to activate the spells engraved in the magic patterns. After activation, each spell will automatically replenish its magic power, but it requires a twelve-hour cooling time."

"The five fingers of your right hand have been engraved by me with the [Disarming Charm], and they can instantly activate all five spells at the same time. I call it, Fivefold Discharge!"

Hermione's mouth fell open when she heard this. She hadn't expected Erwin to have such an ability.

Just imagine: when Hermione was fighting with someone, the enemy knocked her wand away with a [Disarming Charm], and then grew complacent, ready to finish Hermione off completely.

Then Hermione would stretch out her right hand and instantly cast five [Disarming Charms].

The enemy might react to the first one and block it with an [Iron Armor Charm], but what about the remaining four?

Thinking of this, Hermione couldn't help but shiver and felt sympathy for her future enemies.

"Then what spell is on my left hand?" Hermione asked again.

"This is the [Summoning Charm], which allows you to instantly summon your wand. Or you can use it to get your wand back after being knocked away by an enemy."

After Hermione heard this, she instantly understood Erwin's thoughts.

Seeing her close friend worry this much about her, she was filled with warmth and felt a bit shy.

“Thank you, Erwin.” She whispered.

And he nodded his head with a smile.

"This method is amazing. Can I learn it?" As a natural scholar, Hermione showed her strong thirst for knowledge.

"That may not be possible for now. You need to learn Ancient Runes first, and then study magic patterns and some knowledge of alchemy."

Hearing this, the witch was a little disappointed, but she was filled with fighting spirit in the blink of an eye.

She decided to go to the library when school started next semester and begin studying Ancient Runes.

Seeing Hermione's expression, Erwin shook his head.

He naturally knew what Hermione was thinking, but this wasn't something that could be done overnight.

Erwin was confident that among all the people in the entire magical world, only wizards numbering no more than two digits could perform such delicate operations.

This not only required a deep understanding of magic patterns, but also the ability to simplify them to a certain extent.

Otherwise, it would be impossible to engrave such complicated magic patterns onto fingernails.

That alone would stump most wizards.

In the current magical world, fewer and fewer people were willing to study ancient magic.

After all, for most wizards, it was enough to use a few commonly used spells.

It had also been very difficult for Erwin to process this special metal.

The metal liquid not only needed to have strong magical conductivity, but also needed to adhere to the nails for a long time without falling off.

If Hermione wanted to achieve his level, it would be impossible without three to five years of dedicated study. And some luck.

However, Erwin wouldn't stop Hermione.

After all, studying these subjects would be of great help to her strength.
