The last scene with Mary and Robert Jr had me ugly crying. I pray Robert Jr finds strength to get clean. I don’t think the wife is helpful so hopefully he gets rid of her too.

2024-12-04 15:09:52 +0000 UTCOk I'm high a tiny bit and just thought: is Meredith's hearing loss a main factor in the leaving Mary's house drama? Follow me here: a whole bunch of loud voices are clamoring over one another and to Meredith it's all just a jumble till she hears Mary over everyone with that last line of 'you can leave my house' and, maybe even realizing in real time that she had misunderstood the whole deal, Meredith goes full DISENGAGED to save face bc she was embarrassed? (This bc hearing aids are horrible in loud, echoy settings so she might have turned them down at the table like my dad would have done). Open to feedback, I'm just thinking about how heavily she emphasized the 'shame' factor on the after show w regards to the Angie statement.

Whether he goes to a rehab; Narcotics Anonymous, or a combination he can get and STAY clean. I love why she told him she’d support him, but not pay for this lifestyle. Let’s hope she and the dad stick to that. I’ve been a member of N.A. since 1998. I’m currently going to have six years this month albeit we do not front time. Narcotics Anonymous message “that an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live.”

2024-12-02 02:00:59 +0000 UTCi was so touched by the scene with robert junior, but at the same time felt a little strange that it was recorded for us when he was high. i think the mixture of drugs he was on may have contributed to his being so willing to talk openly. it’s just impossible to consent to things when you are not yourself/intoxicated. that being said, i love that this (hopefully) helps to take some of the stigma away from addiction. i’ve struggled a LOT with addiction and depression as a teen/young adult and it’s always funny to me that no matter how different you may be from another addict, you still have this ability to relate at this deep level because addiction is so difficult to understand except for those who have been through it personally. i remember in my addiction, i also had this strange core belief (maybe because i’d been depressed for so long) that most people actually were happy all the time, but i was broken. the drugs were my solution - in fact they probably saved me from killing myself as a teenager. of course it eventually got so bad that it was no longer a viable solution and i was able to get help. but, like ronnie was saying, it wasn’t necessarily the difficult times in early recovery that challenged me as much as the *boring*, calm times. i was so used to chaos that it was difficult to stay away from it. luckily, these days i’d rather read at home/watch Bravo versus going out. i pray that robert is able to get help. it is such a insidious desease, i’m keeping him and his family in my thoughts. 💜❤️💙 also, sorry for the novel.

Eagle Scouts are super advanced, the highest rank in scouting for “men” Girl Scouts wore green uniforms. I was a scout and proud of it. My troop had a bunch of Brownies that we mentored. Some of my best life skills were learned in scouting.

Juniors have green vests/sashes and 6th grade and up have tan vests/sashes. Daisies are entry level - they are named after the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Lowe who was nicknamed Daisy. They have blue vests.

He does trust his mom and they do have real talks like she says. Mary is that crazy lady on tv but this scene showed us she’s there for her son. Some may say because of this she’s not. But this can happen to any parent. It’s an awful situation that can happen to the best of family. My prayers go out to them. My heart broke when he told her he wanted to die. No mother wants to ever hear that. You listen to your kids go through tough times and you worry about them more than they will ever know and that’s a huge fear. Ok still sobbing while making my turkey!
