Chapter 263 - The Two Tonner!
Added 2025-01-29 16:40:23 +0000 UTCTimothy and Ortana made a few more potions. They made twenty of them, and figured that it was best to leave them here, in the castle, because it wouldn't be as easy for them to carry the bottles in the real world, where they would have to shapeshift into small birds soon. They stashed the bottles here, and didn't worry much about expiry dates, because the flow of time was on their side here.
With these bottles of potions accumulated, they felt ready to leave this needle universe, and they might as well leave, because there was an important task waiting for them there. The team felt ready, well, apart from Timothy, who had just one more thing to do before they left. He had to master the creation of telekinetic abilities, and create a whole, official one for himself, rather than carrying just a fractional, useless one. He was dedicated to succeed, and felt sure that he was very close to cracking the patterns behind such an ability!
Well, the roots would change portions of his DNA forever, so he'd understand telekinetic abilities better whether he liked it or not. That was the deal.
Timothy locked himself in one of the basement cells again, and was brave enough to eat three, Air Root slices this time around! He ate them five minutes apart from each other, and fully expected to lose half of his brain in the process, but this was a risk that he was willing to take, as he knew that he could reverse the potential damage.
“Triple or nothing…” He muttered.
The roots started kicking in eventually. He started seeing shadow people again, and this didn't bother him at first, because this was the second time he saw them through the means of intoxication and so he started getting used to them, but then something weird happened. The shadow people were friendly, overly-friendly!
Two of them picked him up by the hands, got their arms over, and around his shoulder, and then they started dancing. They danced by kicking their legs slightly forward, while gently moving sideways collectively, so as to not dance in one spot.
Several more shadow people joined them, and a few of them started playing the drums, and the clarinet, carrying out a rhythmic tune which mainly sounded like wedding music. Timothy was happy, but he was hoping that these guys weren't forcing him to marry some shadow person.
“Opa!” The shadow people shouted in tune, as they danced, “Ajde!”
“Opa!” Tim followed along, he was happy.
It apparently took three slices of Air Roots for him to befriend shadow people. The math behind it was weird, but in bleak comparison, he was having a much better time now than when he ate an Air Root for the first time! Even though his brain was melting in the process, this wasn't a bad way to spend the day, because at the very least, he wasn't arguing with a perverted carrot this time around.
The dancing went on for several hours, indefinitely. Timothy enjoyed himself, until the effects of the Air Root eventually wore out, and he came back to reality. Once it wore out, his stomach felt as if he had swallowed a rock, on the count that his organs couldn’t process the intoxicant root slices easily. This was no picnic, he felt as if he was going to shoot blood out of his anus soon, and his head in its entirety wasn’t doing so great either!
Tim was suffering through a strong headache, paired with nausea and dizziness, and this condition was amplified by the fact that he hadn’t eaten anything else for hours now, ever since he ate those root slices. He hoped that he would never have to go through this gruesome process again!
Ten minutes later, he puked. He threw up stomach acid, mainly, and this was likely because of the fact that his stomach had been working overtime to consume the roots. It produced too much digestive acid, and since it barely chipped on the root slices themselves, the excess acid had to push out of his body one way or the other!
“My god!” He grunted, “What a way to spend the fucking day…”
Timothy suffered from the after-effects of the drug for two hours afterwards, until he slowly adjusted his digestive tract by eating micro-doses of food. He wanted to give his stomach something else to gnaw on, other than the roots, that is. He felt a bit better now, but he was sure that he was going to feel ‘hungover’ for an entire day!
It wasn’t ideal to travel under this condition, so he delayed their mission by another day. The team wasn’t in a rush, of course, because even though it was boring to stay here for another day, the flow of time was still to their advantage. With a little bit of magic, the team would pop up in the main universe about two minutes later, in comparison to when they stepped into Mundi. This was Tim’s trump card, he could manipulate the portal, and the flow of time itself.
Anyway, throughout this twenty-four hour timestamp, Timothy practiced two things. He healed his brain as efficiently as he could, and he attempted to make a whole, useful and powerful telekinetic ability for himself!
The Air Root slices damaged his brain quite a bit, so he converted thousands of mana points putting his brain back together. It wasn’t a swift process, but he had to do it nonetheless, because he needed his former IQ if he was to tamper with the creation of new abilities. It wasn’t a craft that fools could practice.
Timothy eventually recovered his IQ of two-hundred points, which felt great, because a moment a couple of hours ago he was a few points shy of being considered retarded. He had been down to sixty points because of the roots that he consumed!
After he fixed himself, he started experimenting. He created a whole, telekinetic ability, and it was powerful enough for him to claim as his own! He wouldn’t be embarrassed handling it.
“Hehe!” He grinned, “The Two Tonner will come in handy!”
Timothy called his new ability the Two Tonner, mainly because he could lift up to two tons of material with it. The system cited so.
Now two tons didn’t sound like a lot, but this was the best he could do. He wasn’t willing to eat any more slices of mana roots to increase his odds, so two tons was good enough. He tried it out on large rocks, and it was truly the case that he could lift up to two tons! The system gave him estimated weighings.
Such an ability would come in handy in battle, as he could lift up tens of humans if he needed to, double the amount of goblins too, and in turn he would absolutely restrict anyone that he got a hold of, taking control of brute battles! He figured that this was a more humane way of preventing battles, as he didn’t have to kill the people that he restricted.
