Chapter 243 - Tamed Entity - ROM

The ghost city the team popped up in, was very civilized, regardless of how ironic that may sound. Much like in a real, physical city, there was law and order here, regardless of how special and taylored the laws were. It was simply functional, and this functionality spread across the entire kingdom of Mors Florentes, rather than just the City of Fortuna itself!

Their names were certainly interesting too. They were in latin, Timothy could pick up on that fact, but despite him not understanding how latin was used so often on this planet, he was also uncomfortable once he remembered how undead, and paranormal those names sounded. He didn't know when he started getting used to the paranormal, but when he stopped and thought about it, taking into perspective regarding where he was right now, he got spooked. If he had a heart in this form, it would've been pounding rapidly for a while!

Anyway, the team started using the order that this city had, to their advantage. As a welcoming gift, the guard lady, otherwise known as Enima, gave them a few potions that contained condensed, wild souls within them. This was the ghostly version of purchasing flash upgrades, there were plenty of ghosts/souls in the city who made potions like these, and the team got them for free!

The team didn't have any mouths to drink with, so Enima just poured the potions into their blobby, transparent bodies. After several bright flashes that indicated their flash upgrades, the entire team made it past the first realm of phantomized mana quality, otherwise known as the Rogue Entity Realm, and entered the Tamed Entity Realm of mana! Enima had poured the potions fairly, so the entire team ended up on the first level of this particular realm.

Regarding the matter, the name of this realm wasn't just formal. Apart from their souls being more powerful now, they could also ‘shapeshift’, and as roaming souls, this ability was so flexible that it didn't require any mana to use it, and it didn't even require an official name, come to think of it! They could just shapeshift into whatever they wanted, within seconds, so they decided to look like humans, just for the fun of it!

“Well, this is as close to humanity as I want to get right now…” Tim joked with himself.

Timothy had assumed the form of a big, tough, brown-haired male, with armor on. He could coat himself with ‘clothes’ as well, it was that simple because everything was made out of the essence of his very own soul, and that was why it was so convenient.

Ortana was sick of being middle aged, so she turned into an attractive, sexy, tall blonde, and was looking forward to teasing her friends with her fresh features. The rest looked normal, they didn't even imagine massive genitals for themselves, apart from Timothy, but were just happy to be clothed for once!

“Okay, you should fit in the city really well now.” Enima added.

“Okay… so what can we do around here?” Tim asked.

The team wouldn't have ever guessed that they'd end up in a ghost city, so naturally, they didn't know what to expect from it. It was a perplexing situation without a doubt, but they wanted to make every minute count!

“You can do anything, as long as you abide by our laws. There are hundreds of rules, but you don't need to remember them all, just try not to do anything stupid, and treat this place just like you would treat the real world. Actions have consequences, and that's all you need to remember regarding the rules if you're to stay here.” She explained.

Furthermore, she added. “As for the city itself, it has sects featuring about every branch of phantom magic you can think of! Not to mention, there are hundreds of stores as well, and you can even buy property, so treat it just like a real city, as I said, a very organized city, that is. Enjoy it, because as of now, you're officially exempt from the supervision of our guards!”

Being presented with those soul-filled potions, Timothy naturally got very interested in them. He wanted to figure out how one was made, because he was certain that the ‘condensing’ part that made those potions as useful as they were, had whole patterns of channels in them, mana channels, to be exact.

The city had a lot of other things to offer, he was aware of that, but if he learned how to make these potions, then it wouldn't matter if he was in a ghost city or not, because he could use the souls of his enemies, be it alive or dead, to strengthen his own soul! Calculatively, he was aware that tens of flash upgrades were at his fingertips, so he was using his limited time cleverly!

Enima guided him, she told him where he could find a few of the local alchemists, and being himself, Timothy directly headed towards that address without caring if his friends were following him or not. The potions had grabbed his attention entirely!

As for the rest of the team, their interests varied, so they didn't bother following him, and tried to build on their own specific interests. There was a sect of illusion in the city, for example, so Skendus headed there directly, as he was beyond curious to figure out how illusion magic was implemented in the ghost world!

Arvena went ahead and visited the biggest library in the city, because she was in the hunt for advanced knowledge. She was hoping to find something that would help remove the strong mana brackets that she, and her friends were suffering from! Although she didn't expect to find an answer, she figured that the knowledge that was stashed within this city, in its ghostly books, was nothing short of priceless! She was very curious about libraries this time around, and planned to visit all of them if she had the time to do so!

Gustav and Ortana weren't as curious, on the other hand, so they just found a local tavern, and actually found alcohol there that they could chuck down. One of the drinks was called a Fleshling, and its bottles looked as if they were filled with raw, runny shit, but apparently ghosts and souls enjoyed this drink quite a bit! It had about the same taste as alcohol back in the physical world, so this place truly was a replica of some medieval city! It was interesting.

Apart from drinking and eating, the two of them were also very curious about the social aspect of this city, they wanted to observe these entities from up close. A tavern was the best place to do so, because drunk entities were just as honest as drunk humans!
