Chapter 219 - The Three Sacrifices
Added 2024-10-23 18:17:29 +0000 UTCTimothy knew when he was beaten, or in other words, he understood that there were measures he could take in order to avoid being beaten. He had to use this window of time he had in order to avoid certain doom.
It was impossible for him to win a fight against three Arch Mages, and tens of Expert Mages, he wouldn’t even dream of it. This was impossible in any universe, and under any circumstances or calculations! He could not win against them, and he decided not to try at all. He had to flee!
“Damn… no wonder that giant wyrm was trying so hard to keep us away, this place is a mess! I'm glad that I came here alone, or else we could've all died.” He muttered.
However, despite this massive pile of boulders he faced in the path of his ascension, he still had a bit of time to make the best out of these ruins! He could bring his friends here, and his goblin slaves, in order to have them experience several flash upgrades! He was sure that this process wouldn't take more than an hour, as the flash upgrades were quick, as the name suggested.
“If I get them far enough from the pyramids, they’ll upgrade their mana quality a lot faster.” He plotted.
Regarding the pyramids, he wanted to destroy them entirely, just to make a dent on the plans that these dark mages had, but he didn’t know how to do so. Luckily, there were tens of men and women at his disposal, who could make this task a lot easier.
“Sarinam, how can I destroy those pyramids? I want to let your former masters know that I'll be back for them one day.” He asked.
“The Arch Mages could destroy the pyramids easily, though it's obvious that they won't do that, so you’ll have to use an alternative method. The pyramids demand three sacrifices of polar examples if this method is to work…” The other started explaining.
The following explanation was lengthy, but at the end of it, Timothy got a solid idea of what he needed to do in order to destroy those pyramids. With a plan in mind, he, and his slaves immediately headed towards the monumental stone tower, as beneath it, was where the three pyramids were hidden!
Timothy also sent two slaves towards the deep waters, and ordered them to help bring his friends here. Well, his friends, and his goblin slaves too. It had been only a few hours since he infiltrated these ruins, and considering that they were waiting for a message from him, he knew that it would take little to convince them to come here. Skendus could read minds, after all, so he could check if Timothy's slaves were lying or not.
“We have to make every minute count,” He thought, and his math was simple. “I'm sure that they'll also hit their mana brackets quickly, apart from Arvena… I hope to god that she doesn't become an Expert Mage, because she sure as hell will abuse it! Let's hope we can get out of here in under half an hour, because I don't want to take any chances.”
Anyway, once they made it to the three, small pyramids, Timothy's mana instantly depleted, and the three men who were ordered to follow him, had their mana pool emptied as well. This was expected, and he didn't care about losing his mana, because he was about to put an end to this madness really soon!
Timothy ordered two of the men to slap the top of the pyramids with their hands, as per procedure. The tips of the pyramids went through their left hands, and the two of them wailed in response as they could feel pain, just like any other living creature could. This procedure was cruel, but he brought these men here to sacrifice them, after all!
The pyramids, upon receiving the fresh blood of these Hunched Humans, started glowing in response! Their glow lit up the room, and this was how he knew that he could carry on with the next step.
The pyramids demanded two dark mages, and one pure mage, and only then they could be destroyed. Timothy had purified one of the dark mages earlier on, by bashing an unprecedented amount of pure, blue mana through the slave, and had expelled the dark mana this way, thus, clearing the slave's mana pool thoroughly, making him pure!
This pure slave was the third sacrifice. He gave his blood to the pyramid in the middle, which was the pyramid that generated dark mana, so based on the Polar Opposites Example, this pyramid would only accept a pure mage as a sacrifice!
The pyramid responded to his blood quickly, except the room darkened in response, as it stole all of the molecules of light from within the room! This was a powerful tool, it was set up by Arch Mages, so even tampering with it, created a once-in-a-lifetime show!
Seconds later, the pyramids powered down, and unleashed a low-pitched hum during their deactivation. They accepted the sacrifice!
“Good,” Timothy grinned, and then chipped three bone shards from his armor.
With a flick, he shot the shards towards the pyramids, and the small, stone pyramids cracked upon impact, and then broke into a few pieces, just like a simple rock would. As of now, they were officially destroyed!
“That'll send the message,” He thought, and then walked out of the large hall.
Timothy's mana pool filled up in mere seconds afterwards, because the pyramids weren't sucking the mana out of the waters anymore. These dark mages had planned to turn the entirety of the blue mana in these ruins, into dark mana, and dark mana was very present in the waters already, but with the pyramids gone, the blue mana became more and more persistent! He received up to half-a-million mana points per second!
Suddenly, he had a flash upgrade! His body emitted a blue glow that seemed nothing short of holy, and thus, it marked a flash upgrade!
“What the hell?! I thought that my mana was bracketed!” He panicked, but inwardly, he was the happiest guy in the world right now.
The flash upgrades continued, until he reached level five within the Adept Arcana Realm of mana, and that was where the flash upgrades stopped. For a reason that was beyond his understanding, he ascended four levels, and got his mana pool bracketed again all under half a minute. He couldn’t have any more flash upgrades, but level five was good enough.
Timothy then checked on his Hunched Human slaves, and wanted to figure out if they had any flash upgrades as well, but they were not as lucky. They've met with their mana brackets a long time ago, and their duties in these ruins had been solely based on orders from their superiors, so progress of this kind was beyond them.
This made him even happier, he thought. “Maybe Rempegan Lus started liking me, or something?! haha!”
