Chapter 216 - Specialized Reanimator

“Demons, eh? I'm gonna put this aside for now.” He decided, as much as this decision hurt his curious nature.

Timothy continued to browse through the various powers that would let him summon other creatures, and or ghosts, and he was really impressed by them! He never used abilities like these before, so he didn’t want to rush with them, as he needed some time to figure out the mana channels within the essences of the abilities if he was to create something of his own, something dependable.

“A cow? Why the hell would they summon cows?” He cackled, as he observed one of the dark abilities. “And why is this shit considered a dark ability?! Shit’s making me think that the cow produces poisonous milk!”

This was not the best time to summon a cow, considering that he was underwater, so he avoided it. Instead, he focused more on the fact that he got a good, comprehensive idea of how summoning abilities were categorized.

It had four categories that he was aware of, meaning that a dark mage could summon the following: Animals, beasts, phantoms, or demons!

Surely each category was useful to the dark mages in certain settings, excluding the one that caused their deaths, as it would appear that summoners weren’t immune to ambushes! They didn't know how to fight, but rather, they had been sent out here on a mission of sorts, which made them vulnerable to the world’s dangers! They weren’t meant to be out here.

Timothy continued to browse through these dark abilities, and found something more interesting, he found a power that only an expert could cast! It was the ability to steal one's soul, right out of their warm, living body! He assumed that the old man he vaporized earlier on, carried this ability, and he was so happy that he hadn’t faced this man when he killed him, because if the other had a chance to fight back, then death would have surely followed! At this rate, he may even consider himself the Ambassador of dumb luck.

“Jesus! That's necromantic alright, I can understand why people don't like them! This power is pure evil…” He muttered, and later found out that he had collected two more powers of this sort.

Although his assortment of dark powers was vast right now, he couldn’t use any of them, on the count that some of the powers were too advanced for him to cast safely, while the rest weren't worth casting. He had some work to do here, if he was to make these powers worth his time, so after browsing all of his new, dark powers, he then got into work!

Timothy had gotten rid of fifteen dark powers earlier on, on the count that most of them were useless, while the rest featured things that he already had, like the Bone Multiplier ability. He mastered this ability thoroughly, and he wasn't going to take the advice of a dead mage, who couldn't even break a single bone of his body earlier on, no. He was happy to dispel these powers, therefore getting rid of them.

Afterwards, he started working on the fourteen or so powers that had to do with the reanimation of various bodies. These sorts of powers were more plentiful, on the count of how easy they were to cast, and at some point Timothy started second guessing if it even was worth it to analyze them!

The Cheap Reanimator ability that he created for himself, allowed him to reanimate skeletons that were hundreds of years old, so it was far more powerful in comparison to the assortment of powers that he stole from these guys, who couldn't even reanimate a corpse that was over a hundred years old. This was perplexing, he couldn’t fathom how weak the common necromancer was!

Not only were their reanimation powers weaker, but they were specialized on specific creatures as well, such as the reanimation of humans, or a few various monsters! Perhaps this sort of specialization made their slaves more powerful, he was yet to figure that out, but he had time to analyze them! He looked through each one, and memorized the most important mazy channels of mana within each essence of power, before he dispelled these ones as well.

After analyzing them, he didn’t need them anymore, and now, he could even try to create a new, reanimation power for himself! He did exactly that.

“Let's see if I can abuse their… specializations.” He muttered.

Afterwards, a transparent white ball of un-influenced essence appeared in front of him. He summoned it, through the raw power of his high MQ alone, and after that, he riddled this transparent essence, with loads and loads of channels of mana! He gave color to it, and this time around, the dark side of his mana pool started influencing the hollow essence a lot, and thus, giving it a dark shade!

Timothy also put in some patterns that were influenced by his Cheap Reanimator ability, thus making this new ability easier to use. Once he finished crafting this new ability, he named it the Specialized Reanimator, and could already feel what he was capable of with this power under his possession!

“If I'm right, I'll be able to reanimate carcasses of a bunch of animal species with this, and reanimate their organs as well, without mixing it with the Bone Multiplier ability in order to do so. This should also work on humans, and I'm guessing that they will smell a bit funny considering that they won't be as conscious, or alive as my army of goblins, but hey… this is still an improvement, and it's cheaper. I'll work with it, and I'll hold on to the Cheap Reanimator for now, as it's more universal… I can even reanimate ancient shit with it.” He spoke to himself, and he was very enthusiastic about the matter.

Considering that he could reanimate whole humans so effortlessly now, he only had to give them a little bit more mana, after their reanimation, in order to make the humans conscious again, because he would renew their organs, rather than leaving them all rotten and disgusting. Overall, this process would still be very cheap. Sure his slaves would be lacking their souls once reanimated, but consciousness was a gift nonetheless, so no one would take it for granted, and it was a gift that Timothy could help maintain for them as long as he chose to, by just feeding them thirty or so dark mana points a month, from his Mellow Mana Pool! The calculations excited him quite a bit!

“If I’m right… I'll be able to bring their original powers back as well. Hehe, I guess this is what their stupid specializations were about! I'd specialize in some shit to, if it only cost me thirty dark mana points to reanimate some powerful bastard!!” He grinned.
