Chapter 206 - The Ruins of Aqumus

Timothy, the team, and his three-hundred slaves strode the sea, and they all had one goal in mind. They wanted to get to the Ruins of Aqumus, and there, they wanted to reap every ounce of mana that they could get!

Considering how highly the ruins were spoken of, even his slaves could upgrade their mana quality, without meddling in the progress that Timothy and the team wanted to make. There should be plenty of mana to go around, though he swam about twenty meters forward, in front of everyone else, so he'd be the first in line to reap any and all mana quantities!

Tim wanted to be first, because it would be weird if either of his slaves somehow ended up reaching a higher level of mana quality than him! It wouldn't only be weird, but disadvantages too, because he figured that a super-powerful undead guy would want a will of his own, rather than serve a master!

The following adventures were bound to be perplexing, but mostly foolproof nonetheless, because with an army of his own, the chances of success were solid. He was excited!

They traveled for about ten more kilometers together, and within this traveling session, they ran into a couple of obstacles, well, they ran into plenty of obstacles! There was an endless amount of monsters within The Old Sea, with the Sea Orcs being the most brutal of beasts, and they were considered virtually unstoppable!

Six Sea Orcs crossed their paths, but as powerful as they may be, Timothy and his slaves got the upper advantage nonetheless, because in this case, quantity overcame quality, the quality being each Sea Orc's tough scales. Based on some calculations, a single, super-charged fireball was not strong enough to kill a Sea Orc, even if it was Arvena who shot it, it wasn't possible - However, hundreds of mild fireballs did the trick!

Timothy's slaves overwhelmed each Sea Orc they crossed paths with, and the math behind this was simple. The slaves could collectively shoot two-hundred fireballs, and one-hundred lightning bolts throughout each second, sometimes double the amount, even, and on occasions where they had five or more seconds to attack, they had the chance to collectively unleash fifteen-hundred shots against their opponents!

If merely nine-hundred of those shots hit a Sea Orc, the battle was over, as the dragon would be fried thoroughly in mere seconds! There was power in numbers, and this was exactly the kind of math Timothy did, before he dedicated weeks on making his own, massive platoon of fire-wielding slaves! They were effective! When he saw the carcasses of the Sea Orcs, the hardy laugh he was nursing on afterwards, became more and more villainous - He treasured the demise of those Sea Orcs thoroughly!

However, despite their overall non-expensive success, they did suffer some casualties. Some Sea Orcs were just too fast, so they ended up killing twenty members of his platoon, most of which were those who wielded fire. He mourned their death, but he was more irritated by the fact that he couldn't reanimate the slaves that the dragons killed!

The femur bones that kept the slaves moving and kicking, were lost in these battles, because the slaves would be swallowed whole in the exchange! After that point it was nearly impossible to find their original femur bones, because either the stomach acid of the dragon, or the fireballs that were shot by his platoon, would have fried those victims entirely, including their valuable femur bones! Those slaves were lost forever, the unique characters behind their blue eyes would never see the light of day again!

“Bastarding Sea Orcs! There’s nothing in this world I hate more!” Timothy said, and he loathed them with his entire being.

The platoon suffered casualties, he felt really irritated about it, but the overall results they achieved were good nonetheless. Timothy and the team were safe, and they didn't have to fight a single monster so far, so the contribution of the platoon was beyond phenomenal, they hadn't even spent an eighth of their mana yet!

After that traveling session, they finally made it to the Ruins of Aqumus! The ruins were right in front of them, or, underneath them, as it was a whole kilometer below the sea water, while Timothy and the platoon were four-hundred meters below the surface!

Timothy could very clearly see what was below them. The ruins featured a three-kilometer wide city of sorts, the City of Aqumus he assumed, and the city was, of course, ruined.

This was supposedly where the god Rempegan Lus used to live, thousands of years ago, with the thousands of his worshippers, and or slaves! Rempegan Lus is said to be the creator of the micro-universe of Valporovus, which featured this planet that the team was on, and several other planets within the same universe!

Lus was a powerful man, a powerful god, and it is said that the very air he breathed created thousands of mana deposits within this old city, before a sea was created upon Lus’ departure, thus rendering the City of Aqumus out of use! The mana deposits here mattered more than the city, however, and rumors were that the deposits were present even now, thousands of years after his departure!

“Okay… I have to shapeshift.” Tim said, as he stared at the ruins beneath him. “If I swam down there as a stingray, the water pressure is gonna kill me for sure.”

It was best to shapeshift now, while they were above the city, rather than later on, it was best to be prepared. He shapeshifted into an Aqus Goblin, because this species could swim to depths of up to two-kilometers, they were very versatile in this matter, truly a powerful species! Timothy shifted into one of those, and Skendus did the same thing.

The mana pool Tim had, was then reduced to one-point-eight million mana points as a result, but he had to live with it, he didn’t have another choice! A bigger mana pool wouldn't do him any good if he was dead.

Even in this form, Timothy's slaves still recognized him as their master, because they could sniff the mana on him, so thankfully the shapeshifting didn't bring him any issues. The slaves were even happy that their master had assumed a form identical to theirs, they were over the moon because of it!

Afterwards, in order to stop flashing everyone with his genitals, Timothy chipped off a couple of bones from the armors of his slaves, and with them, he created a couple of sets of well-fitting bone armor for both himself, and Skendus. They couldn't swim around naked, after all, and since they left their original armor on the shores, the couple of bone armors he made were absolutely necessary for them!

Anyway, after that point, they all started swimming downwards, towards the ruins. It was a short trip down there, and after swimming down for just a hundred meters, everyone could feel their mana regenerating faster, just by a nudge. The legends about this place were true!

However, as they swam further, Timothy started getting paranoid, as something didn't add up! If the ruins were powerful enough to feed anyone with mana, endlessly, then he kept asking himself as to why the ruins were void of creatures! He expected to fight his way through monsters here, but the place appeared to be desolate, empty!
