EARLY ACCESS: Ranking Final Girls

Comments

Aww so I guess when I go to NYC with my friends for our trip and if I end up running into David I’m not sure if he’d be creeped out if I approach him lol. I’m a big fan but I also don’t want to be annoying. For Final Girls I love Laurie Strode in H20, 2018, and Ends. Love Ellen Ripley in Alien.

We startin' off right with Nancy. Just as an FYI, cuz I'm not only a horror/fantasy/anime geek but also love comics. So, in Dream Warriors, when Kristin tells Nancy she's going to take her to a beautiful Dream, as she's dying, she succeeds. She actually sends Nancy's soul to the Positive Gate of the Astral Realm and she becomes the Guardian of the Positive Gate, the enemy of Freddy who is the Guardian of the Negative Gate. She takes some years to learn how to control her powers but later she leads a group of people against Freddy, including Neil, and brings forth the souls that Freddy killed to help take him down, it was a fun comic series. Almost as good as Hellraiser Nightbreed: Jihad. Surprised the new girl from When a Stranger Calls made the list. Erin is definitely Da Baddest. Kirsty Cotton survived 3 separate movie encounters with the cenobites and traded her cheating husband with his hooker that was trying to kill her to Pinhead to survive. And that's not including the comics when she becomes the Hell Priest, herself; she deserves a Try me, Bitch. She deserves it far more than old girl from When a Stranger Calls. I love Laurie Strode and I think H20 was prolly my fave for the longest after it came out. However, I do understand how a younger person, like George, after watching the first film after newer horror would get the impression that she didn't do anything. My fave horror period is late 70s-mid 90s but that time period was bad for making a lot of movies where the female protagonist couldn't defend themselves, were whiney, made obviously stupid decisions, etc. It was just poor/misogynistic writing. But Laurie was a good representation of a regular, suburban girl and her reaction to it. And how she appears in H20 is giving that WASPy response but turns into a badass. And the new trilogy, she was nothing short of an asskicker and on top of the situation the entire time.
