Beta site for Patrons soon! - August '22 Update

A lot has happened since the last update. My list of things to write is quite some lines long, so let's get into it.

Just to be clear, this stuff isn't live yet on the website! It'll be live on a patron exclusive beta website soon.

Filter video popups
If you have filtered certain content like inflatable popping, you will now get a content warning if you still end up on a video that contains it. Looks a little something like this:

Videos now filtered everywhere
Think channel pages, recommended, playlists and even subscription lists. Should've fixed that 2 years ago, but here we are.

More filters for people not logged in
Little less relevant to you guys, but it is still a nice extra feature. Any filter available to people logged in, is now also available to people not logged in. And it won't cover up the page anymore on mobile, promise.

Trending page is fast again
This one you can already feel on the main site (tube.), since it was as simple as adding an index to the database. If you don't know what that means, don't worry. Trending goes brrrrr.

Trending slider makes its return
When the beta website launches for you lovely patrons, you can finally watch videos again that other people like watching in the moment. In my personal opinion a great way of browsing for videos.

Uploads do not slow the website down anymore
The wonders of distributing server load. When someone uploads a video on the new beta site, it is more unlikely that the website slows down to a crawl thanks to some load balancing magic.

Popular channels page works (faster)
There was a time where the popular channels page was broken. Now it isn't, and it is faster.

Emojis!
Holy shit why did that take so long. See last post. This will be enabled on both the beta and main site at the same time, so somewhere in September.

Streamlined style
This one is just for me. The brand colors are actually correct across the website, both in light and dark mode.

Alright that is everything. The beta site is currently on schedule to be released in September, exclusively for patrons. To be able to visit it as one of the first, make sure to link your Patreon account over on this page: https://tube.inflatevids.xyz/settings.

Big chance the next update will be underwhelming now. Oh well.
