The Owlery - What If Draco Stole the Invisibility Cloak?

Guys, you missed the main time Harry uses the cloak in HBP which is when they go to the cave with Dumbledore and come back. Harry is invisible with Dumbledore and Draco on top of the lightning struck tower! That is how he witnesses Snape killing Dumbledore! And Rosmerta would have alerted Draco that Dumbledore left with Harry, not just by himself as it appears in the book. But also Dumbledore asks Harry in the start of the year to carry the cloak on him at all times even in the castle. I think if he responded to Dumbledore that it was stolen by Malfoy, as headmaster he would have intervened and also put Draco on notice or something. He told Tom Riddle that thievery is not tolerated at Hogwarts.

2025-07-16 03:48:28 +0000 UTCI think Harry would NOT let Draco off the hook given he suspects Draco is a Death Eater since Borgin and Burkes. That’s why he chases Draco in the train in the first place. And yes, Dumbledore calls the Order (including Bill) to guard Hogwarts while he and Harry go get the Fake Horcrux. Great question and thinking through it!
