I think James took Sirius' word that Remus was a spy (probably with werewolves) and there's nothing Sirius could say or do that would make James choose Remus over Sirius. But isn't it tragic that James and Lily suspected Remus was the traitor right up until the point they saw Voldemort at their cottage? And they couldn't apologize for doubting him. Anyway, excited to hear this discussion
