Yess ripped jeans! Something I actually know about!! 😂 It started becoming popular during the punk movement in the 70s. The Ramones and The Sex Pistols are super credited with this, but it started out of necessity because New York and London in the 70s was experiencing extreme poverty. They wore ripped jeans because they had to and as the music because mainstream, so did the distressed appearance! ❤️ Fashion designer Vivienne Westwood’s early work was specifically for and during the punk movement (she was once married to Malcolm McLaren, the manager of The Sex Pistols) and the fashion and the music started to go hand in hand. ❤️❤️
