Everyone had their own reasons, but no thought “I’m going to stop hurting people and actually Muggle-Borns are just as equal as pure-bloods and purity doesn’t matter.” to your other point, I’d say house-elves seem to be sound to rich pure-blood families. If Harry had a choice, I don’t think he’d “want” to enslave a house-elf… but we don’t see any evidence of him freeing Kreacher either which is interesting.

2025-04-06 18:34:38 +0000 UTCI think Regulas only turned on Voldemort because of the way Voldemort treated Kreacher. I think people give way too much credit to Regulas for turning over a new leaf. I mean if Voldemort would have taken Doby from Lucius Malfoy I don't think he would have changed his tune so quick. On the other side I did think of something else while laying in bed last night. What are the requirements for getting a house elf and if the person is important enough can they pick the house elf they want. For example I know Harry wasn't too crazy about Kreacher at first and they did find a way to respect each other but let's say for the sake of this What If that it didn't turn out that way. I mean I think Harry and Ginny should have the right to choose a house elf after Harry defeated Voldemort just saying.
