Hi, my original thought was that Dumbledore knew Voldemort was going to go after the Elder wand and if Draco didnt disarm Dumbledore Snape would have become its master. In that case Harry would have to win it from Snape. I dont think its a far fetched idea that if that was the case Dumbledore would have set up a dual between Snape and Harry which almost happenes right after the lightning struck tower. And the dual wouldnt have to end in Snapes death since that isnt nessacary for the wand alligence and sacrafical protection would garantee Harry wins it.

Ariana was so unwell that i don’t think she would have been capable of knowingly putting herself in the way with the knowledge that it was protecting them, she was so young and sheltered. Also, Voldemort gave Lily the choice, that’s what made the protection, no one asked Ariana to die in place of someone else. The blood pact that prevented Dumbledore going after Grindlewald also prevented the reverse. That’s why Grindlewald needed Credence. He needed another to actually kill Dumbledore due to the blood pact
