Wanted to add on that Ron isn’t the only one excusing Ludo Bagman’s behavior with his Wimbourne Wasp former career. Arthur also does the same about trotting around talking about Bludgers. In fact, the Council of Magical Law refuses to send him to Azkaban despite passing information to Death Eaters, similar to Peter, even if it was unknowingly. Not to mention, Bagman tries helping Harry against the rules and swindles the twins of their money

But I'm glad that there isn't blind acceptance of what Hermione does and that they are thinking critically and appreciating Ron, given that people tend to underestimate Ron's contributions and primarily focus on Hermione's. Agree with Ben that it's a weird time to talk about it though

2025-01-25 20:05:04 +0000 UTCI'd like to share some thoughts about the "Ron doesn't know Beauxbatons" argument. I think it's VERY likely that the "regular" english wizard doesn't know about the other schools, especially during their school days. 1.: The wizard schools are very secretive, we never get to know the locations of the schools. Also, I don't think the parents would have known because there wasn't a Triwizard Tournament in such a long time. Pretty much the only way for you to know about them is chatting with someone who went to those schools, and I don't think the Weasleys travel very much with the whole family. So maybe Hermione found out in her trip to France. 2.: I think J said that the people would know about the different options for schooling, but I really don't think the other schools would be an option for English wizards, maybe a last resort. I don't know how common it is in the US to move for education, but in Europe, this would be very hard. I'm not trying to say that nobody moves in Europe, but for the Weasleys attending Beauxbatons would mean moving to a whole other country, where there's a sea between, and they'd have to learn a whole new language! French is really hard. I don't know where exactly Durmstrang is located, but it would be even farther with another language. TL;DR: I don't think Hermione stole Ron's info, I think it would be a very niche information and fits very well that Hermione found out about it somehow.
