I was almost disappointed with slughorn being left out but happy he was mentioned. Such an interesting character

2024-12-17 07:20:24 +0000 UTCI am by no means a Snape fan. HOWEVER. I don’t think he was “hoarding his knowledge” as you say. If you remember, every single lesson, Snape tells them to refer to the board for the recipe. Not the book. So he is writing out the instructions, which means he could easily be adding the corrected instructions. To back this up, Hermione was always really good at potions in Snapes classes, but the money Slughorn starts teaching out of the books, she starts to struggle. The difference is she didn’t have Snapes correct instructions. The only outlier to this is her making Polyjuice correctly out of the book, but that could simply be one Snape didn’t have to correct.
