Snape standing at the edge of the lake like: “this child is SO stupid…” 😅 I’m guessing Snape would save Harry but Hermione was long stop devastated and I think it’s partly because of Ron that they go visit Luna and learn about the Deathly Hallows but I’m not entirely sure… I guess they might not go to Shell Cottage after Malfoy Manor… Not sure… Good question!

I also feel like Snape never planned to tell Harry anything about Lily even in canon… it just happened because “life flashed before his eyes” and seeing Lily’s eyes again but the main part that had to be said was that Harry had to die

I feel like Harry does always feel some sort of difference when Snape is using Legilimency on him, and Harry can actually throw off the curse pretty naturally. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the actual magical essence of the curse about how you can control people without it being traced back to you since it was a huge problem in both wizarding wars

2024-11-30 15:26:26 +0000 UTCI agree the caster has to be present initially, but I feel like once they’re under the curse, the caster doesn’t have to be there to further control them. For example, Lucius Malfoy controlling Sturgis Podmore to steal the prophecy… Lucius isn’t there hovering over him the whole time to make sure he does what he wants

2024-11-30 15:23:37 +0000 UTCI’m not a fan of this one. I’d much rather see your thoughts on if lily lived how much would that change? Would snape be in Harry’s life and if so in what capacity? Would snape treat Harry as the favorite in class regardless of what house he’s in? Would snape be able to tell Harry what he needs to tell him at the end of DH and do it sooner??
