If Snape dies, it fractures the Marauder's school friendship in a way that is impossible to repair. Dumbledore, being the opportunist he is, would absolutely take Sirius in as a double agent. As for Remus, he may still be able to stay at Hogwarts if Dumbledore can sufficiently cover up the events surrounding Snape’s death—which, given Dumbledore’s influence, seems entirely doable. James, Remus, and Peter continue to be friends after, though it’s never the same. The bonds they shared during their school years are irreparably damaged, but they remain united in the fight against Voldemort. After Hogwarts, they all join the Order, and it becomes clear to them what Sirius has been doing. Over time, James may become cordial with Sirius, seeing that he’s in a compromising position and trying to redeem himself. After all, they’re basically brothers. Lupin, however, keeps his distance from Sirius. Though they work together in the Order, he remains emotionally cut off from him, driven by his own desire to redeem himself.
I like the idea that it’s actually Regulus, not Sirius, who overhears the prophecy. Perhaps both brothers are present when Voldemort learns of the prophecy, and Regulus, still loyal to his family and wanting to gain favor, tells Voldemort. Sirius, later tormented by his family’s ties to the Dark Lord, and love for James would plead with Voldemort to spare James.
Peter, of course, is still the secret keeper, and as expected, he betrays James and Lily. The night Voldemort goes to Godric's Hollow, he’s likely there not only to kill Lily and James but also to try and claim the Sword of Gryffindor as his final Horcrux. If that’s the case, Lily may manage to pull the sword in an attempt to defend her family, but she ultimately dies. When it comes to James, Voldemort tries to spare him, offering him the chance to step aside. James, however, refuses. This act of sacrifice enacts the protective love that shields Harry.
Here’s where things get interesting: Sirius gets to the house first and finds Harry, but Lupin also shows up shortly afterward. They reunite under the worst possible circumstances, both devastated by the loss of their friends. Neither of them wants to go after Peter, though, as they are both too emotionally shattered to add any more bloodshed to an already tragic night. But the real question is: how will Harry be protected? With the Dursleys no longer a viable option for the bond of blood protection, Dumbledore would need a new plan.
Ideally, the first choice for Harry’s guardian would be his godfather, but in this case, James would have chosen Remus to be Harry's godfather. Their bond had grown closer, especially after the Snape incident, and Remus would have been the natural choice. However, true to his character, Remus would feel that his condition as a werewolf makes him a danger to baby Harry. Remus, always self-conscious about his own limitations, would likely refuse to take Harry in, despite how much he wants to.
Now, Dumbledore, knowing that Voldemort will eventually return, would not allow Sirius to take Harry in. His role in the war and the need for him to remain active would prevent it, and Dumbledore’s desire for Harry to grow up away from the burden of fame would lead him to choose someone more isolated from the wizarding world. This is where Ted and Andromeda Tonks come into play. I think it would be fascinating for Harry to grow up with them. Ted and Andromeda are loving and safe, and they are distanced from the more dangerous factions of the wizarding world. They would provide Harry with a nurturing home, away from the spotlight, allowing him to grow up in peace.
Harry grows up with Nymphadora as a sibling figure and is raised in a magical household, but he knows little, if anything, about his parents’ deaths or the true extent of Voldemort’s rise to power. The wizarding world is unaware of Harry’s whereabouts, so he enjoys a relatively normal childhood.
When Harry eventually goes to Hogwarts, it will certainly be a different experience. However he the fame would still be just a shocking. However, this could lead to some interesting dynamics as he begins to uncover the truth about his parents, Voldemort, and his connection to the prophecy.

I mean, I almost feel as if James dies for both of them and the spell backfires in the same way only Lily and Harry live. They may go to her parent's house because, frankly, it would seem if they died of natural causes, then that would be left to their daughters in their will, and clearly, Petunia doesn't take it. On the other hand, had it been Lily who died on behalf of James and Harry and the two survived, I feel as though they’d move in with Sirius as the house would still have been destroyed, and this would set up perhaps almost a Full House scenario where Harry is raised by his Dad along with Sirius and Remus. Also as James would be able to Clear Sirius of Suspician Peter would be caught by the Authorities easily. I’d also like to think Sirius would go on to have a kid or kids of his own with a witch probably of a Status his Family would be infuriated with and perhaps with their encouragement Remus decides to be more confident about getting out and dating even perhaps finding a witch whose a skilled potionier and can have batches of wolfsbane potion always ready when he needs them.

He did and James was mad at him but I frankly disagree with this analysis completely as is. James and Serius Dispised Snivillus and knew even at this point Snape was planning on joining the Death Eaters so while I definitely believe their would have been a steep price to pay for Sirius from the other 3 I believe they would have covered up the truth of Sirius’s involvement in Snapes Death and so as to protect both Lupin and Sirius from outside punishment. However given James' own actions I can’t fathom his Loyalty to Sirius would be thrown out the window because Sirius got his arch-rival killed. If Anything it would be Lupin and Sirius that would have to have a significant hashing out after the initial falling out.
The Marauder's pre-peter’s betrayal seems like the type of Friends that would handle this situation internally.
We even know this from the main story when Sirius himself tells Peter he would Die rather than hand his friends over to Voldemort and No smart person jeopardizes that level of loyalty for the sake of the memory of someone they hate.
Maybe it's my own pack’s ideal but we have sworn an oath since Teens that we’d Die or Kill for one another at the end of the day and personally I believe the truely loyal should always take the side of the loyal friend over a arch rival who’s openly stated they plan to join a Revolutionary Terrost Organization when they leave school.
Finally Sirius was always gonna join the order and we are overlooking a critical detail due to the phrasing of the question Does anyone really Think Snape didn't bring his wand and was ready to use one or multiple of his dark spells to defend himself from the raging werewolf? Plus and this is the big thing Why would Stag James and Dog Sirius already be there along with Rat Peter?

These 2 chapters (this one & the next one) are my FAVORITE of the WHOLE series!! 😍❤️ I HOPE 🤞🏻 THEY include these two chapters in the new TV 📺 show!! 👏🏻 And thank you for bringing up the fact that you DIDN’T discuss the chapter art last time 🤨 … 😅 Also, maybe the Weasleys were always planning on going—just got really cheap tickets 🎟️ that were not in a very good “location”; on the “floor”, as you said! 😅 Anyway, maybe they just got a REALLY good upgrade, thanks to Lodo’s brother! 😆 And, I just thought of this (because I’m watching my favorite childhood Christmas 🎅🏻 movie right now), but did the Dursleys take away the “magic of Christmas” away from Dudley as a little kid just because the Dursleys didn’t even like the word “magic” at all … If so, that’s extra sad 😔 … Also, hmm, I thought the Great-Horned owl 🦉 (great name for an owl 🦉, btw, if I do say so myself, even if it doesn’t have real horns 😅) was the largest owl 🦉 in North America … Maybe Ben meant a Snowy Owl is the largest owl in EUROPE, not North America … 🤔 And, I’m actually surprised this incident doesn’t affect their friendship to begin with in the first place, in the main story, James & Sirius, I mean … ‘Cause Sirius DID do a pretty serious thing here (no pun intended) … 🤔

Ok hold on all the minutes. If James is the one who is offered mercy by Voldemort, does that change who in the home receives the sacrificial protection? Because we know that, when Voldemort comes to the home, Lily is the one who runs to baby Harry while James says "Lily, take Harry and go! It’s him!" which I would think would happen again given that James' personality doesn't change in this scenario. So James is offered a choice, he chooses to stand between Voldemort and his family, does that mean that both Harry and Lily receive sacrificial protection? We also know Lily stands between Voldemort and Harry and says "Not Harry! Not Harry! Please – I’ll do anything". Does that mean when Voldemort goes to kill her, that's when the spell backfires? Does Lily receive the scar and Harry goes unmarked? Or, because of the prophecy, does Voldemort go around Lily, or immobilize her in some capacity, and still uses the killing curse on Harry, leaving the line "will mark him as his equal" in place but giving Harry a living mother, just no father? I really hope y'all read the comments on these because I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! I'll post it in the questions post too just in case, but it'll need some heavy context lol.

I think it would be interesting if Lilly and James took Dudley in if something happened to Petunia. They could spoil Harry rotten. Petunia gets a taste of her own medicine and 'no it's not a spoonful of sugar. Well OK for Harry techniclly it is.
