Chapter 1: The Riddle House | Goblet of Fire (Ad Free!)

That’s an interesting question about the “bone of the father” but his mother being magical! I would also like to know the answer to that.

I think the “in their dinner things” COULD refer to the fact that they could still “be dressed” for dinner. In the olden days, rich people used to dress “fancy” for having dinner, even in their own home. Think “Downton Abbey” or the “Titanic” movie. And you CAN literally be scared to death, I think. You’re so afraid your heart just stops. Also, question: why does it have to be the “bone of the father” when it was actually Voldy’s mother who was magical, not his father … ?? 🤔 And, the fact that the gardener, A.K.A. Frank, doesn’t live in the house also makes sense for an old rich mansion. The gardeners don’t usually like the house with the other servants (possibly because they don’t NEED to work on the garden EVERY day 🤔); they usually live in the nearby village with their families. Again, think “Downton Abbey”; the gardener(s) doesn’t/don’t live in the house in the servants quarters with the other servants in the show, either. 😉

Imagine that as a video. Every time any Death Eater could have killed Harry but Harry wasn’t saved or Voldemort didn’t go “Leave him to me! He’s mine to kill and mine alone!” Time to rack up the “Prrrrrretty obvious” counter / Harry Potter theoretical death counter

I am enjoying this so much and it really puts in perspective how short the first three books are that were not even a full 14 months in and we’re on Book four and yet each of the remaining books will take almost a year each to do. Also I love the idea Lucious is the rich man, though it does feel like it could be any of his male inner circle members with a few exceptions. However the question that occurs to me is since the murders couldn’t be trace back to him Could Voldemort using his muggle name claim his fathers’ fortune and transfer it to wizarding currency like he’s the sole heir to the House of Riddle and their fortune what happens to it since he doesn’t claim it and better what if he had claimed all the money and assets and used them long term for his twisted plans?

You guys talking about wormtail having every opportunity to kill Harry in the dormitory had me thinking… the perfect crime. Imagine Ron, Seamus, Neville and Dean wake up one morning and Harry is just dead… and no one ever suspects it’s Ron’s dang rat that’s been in the family for years. Who would be the lead suspect? What would the wizarding world think had happened? Such a weird thing to think about.

Well the answer to how they got in the room is simple, they Apperated into it. But Chapters that aren't harry centric are The boy who lived (Chapter 1 Philosophers stone) The Riddle House ( Chapter 1 Goblet of Fire) The other Minster (Chapter 1 Half Blood Prince) Spinners end (Chapter 2 Half Blood Prince) The Dark Lord Ascending (Chapter 1 Deathly Hallows)

So excited we've started Goblet and all the details you two dived in on! I also compared Frank to Sirius. I love the AU where Voldemort and Wormtail are dating like "I disgust you, you shudder every time you touch me, I will kill you, please don't leave me, I'm strong, I hate you, I'm too weak, please milk my cow" (MOOOOO). I do just want to add that my version of Goblet of Fire has Peter saying "If I curse- " (rather than murder) and Voldemort saying "one more obstacle and our path to Harry Potter is clear" (instead of one more murder). I agree your books are misleading but I also think it is Moody, and told a bit better with "curse" and "obstacle": If I (Imperius) curse Moody and Moody being an obstacle to get to Harry, since Voldemort's sole plan is Barty Crouch Jr taking Moody's identity. Great read through - I loved every minute and laughed the whole way through. Can't wait to keep going - keep it up!
