I've recently decided that if they'd followed Dumbledore's naming convention... 'Albus Severus (something, something) Potter' would have worked better. 'Albus Severus-' and then 'Jame Cedric Potter', or 'Fred Dobby ' or ' Colin Sirius' or something extended like that wouldn't sound as bad.

2024-12-21 18:43:43 +0000 UTCI don't think so, since Dumbledore sent them on their mission 5 minutes till midnight. Good reasoning though!

2024-12-21 07:59:53 +0000 UTCI think the fact that werewolves aren’t a big threat is intentional. JKR said lupin’s lycanthropy was a metaphor for the AIDS crisis in the 80s/90s. Even though it was pretty difficult to get AIDS, people were terrified of it

2024-11-10 18:56:43 +0000 UTCYall need to get updated on your marauders fanon, but most fans agree that Snape DOES have a life debt to James and that's part of the reason he hates him so much for so long. Because after everything they did to each other, he now has to be in debt to this person he hates beyond anything. So when the time comes and he can't save Lily and Albus is asking him to watch over and protect the boy that looks so much like the man he hates, the life debt comes in and he agrees. He spends the rest of his life both paying back his life debt but also caring for Lily's son.

2024-11-05 17:26:41 +0000 UTCThe full moon always OFFICIALLY begins at midnight and lasts exactly 24 hours before it is no longer considered full (astrologically speaking- this isn't taking into account what the naked eye thinks it sees). So it's possible Harry and the gang were just outside when MIDNIGHT struck and it was suddenly officially a full moon.

If not that, then maybe a griffin … as in Gryffindor … 🤔 Also, kinda ironic that they’re reminding us we could listen 🎧 to the ad free 🆓 version on Patreon when this IS the ad free version ON Patreon! (I know that this was meant for listeners on like Apple Podcasts or Spotify or YouTube, but it still made me giggle 🤭 a little!)

2024-11-02 22:16:36 +0000 UTCI always thought that Dumbledore saying “most unusual form” mostly just emphasized the “form” part that Harry did cast a corporeal patronus at the Quidditch match - even though Remus did already. I like Ben’s idea of a lion or thestral. It is odd, though, because a stag would match his father’s (who would have presumably sent messages via patronus)…

2024-11-02 21:16:34 +0000 UTCIn Philosopher’s Stone, Dumbledore says Snape put extra effort into saving and watching Harry’s life and could go back to hating James in peace (after James saved Snape’s life from Remus), but I do wonder if Snape could have done better 😂 (because imo Hermione saved Harry more than Snape with the Quidditch match)

2024-11-02 21:01:35 +0000 UTCThe knowledge lf a second Trelawney prophecy for Order is great but it also brings the full story full cycle as to WHY the whole series started. Then, we Goblet bringing back Polyjuice, Animagi, twin cores, Voldemort’s followers pretending to be under the Imperius Curse, and explaining Unforgivable Curses. We also have the prophecy drawn out a long time: we’re told about it in Prisoner, it’s claimed as a weapon in Order, Half Blood we find out Snape delivered it, and Deathly Hallows we learn Snape’s true loyalties and what happened in Godric’s Hollow from Voldemort’s POV. It’s a BIG plot and it’s very stretched out

2024-11-02 20:50:28 +0000 UTCLove the idea of Harry sitting in DADA chair in the office. It sort of reminds me of your talks about how Harry can’t be happy with Cho or Sirius because of Voldemort… but that doesn’t seem like a good reason after Voldemort is defeated… Totally advocate for Harry as DADA teacher

2024-11-02 20:44:07 +0000 UTCI do love the indignation on both your parts about going to Hogsmeade after Sirius escaped, but I do like the throwback to “Gringotts - safest place there is, except perhaps Hogwarts” with the Philosopher’s Stone from Gringotts to Hogwarts. Then, Snape gives Bellatrix the fake sword in Gringotts but keeps the real sword at Hogwarts
