I have a hard time believing Voldemort would give Lily a choice without Snape’s input… since she’s muggleborn I feel like he would just kill her without any choice. However! James is a pureblood, I feel like James would stand in his way and there’s a good chance he would give James a choice. Does sacrificial love work if it’s James? It seems strange to me that it would only work for the mother!

I know you two put Snape under Exceeds Expectations for usefulness in defeating Voldemort - I’m wondering if you two think Snape would be more or less important to Voldemort’s defeat if he wasn’t a Death Eater/triple agent especially after Voldemort’s return (since prophecies are going to prophecy…)
