If fudge took Harry seriously I doubt he assigns Umbridge as DADA professor. He would want to the students to really learn how to defend themselves and assign a top Auror to be teacher like Kingsley. Also Umbridge doesn’t care about the rules. After all she goes outside the law to get dementors to attack Harry outside of Fudges knowledge. She only uses rules to gain/maintain her power.

I forget now … Like, I know they’re on the Inquisitorial Squad & everything, but what about in her classes where she was ACTIVELY saying Voldemort’s not back when the Slytherins all KNEW for a fact that he was??
