I am American so I could be wrong. But OWLS are comparable to GCSE which is a general certificate of secondary education and Newts are comparable to A levels possibly... In England you only go to Secondary school till what is comparable to our sophomore year here in the US. So around 5th year in HP. Then they do two years of College. Then you can apply to university. That is why people from England will get confused sometimes when Americans refer to university as college because it is two entirely different things for them.

Is it possible that the spell to transform peter out of rat form that Sirius uses on him holds him out of rat form and that’s why he needs the wand.

In defense of the exams, I took AP classes all throughout high school and all the exams were 2.5-3.5 hrs

Never happened this often in a chapter that I said to myself: the answer is in the book guys! 🙈😂 anyway … I do love the thought that Peter was stuck in rat form (I mean you can get stuck out of fear alone. Anyone that experiences severe anxiety or panic attacks will tell you that’s true). And I love the idea that he got to Voldi, somehow communicated to him that he cannot transform and Voldi was like: alright I have to do anything myself here I’ll help because it helps me, possesses him and then immediately transforms them back before leaving the body again. That would work I guess since Voldi is so powerful even when he’s physically weak. Fits my imagination of Tom Riddles diary being so hilariously annoyed with Harry that I commented on another episode 😂. I sooo wish that we had a series about young Tom Riddle. Man! The 2nd movie had such a perfect depiction of him 🥰

If draco switches sides, besides just Dumbledore still dieing from the ring, what happens to snape with the unbreakable oath

For anyone who reads fanfic the what if at the end is pretty close to: The Disappearance of Draco Malloy on AO3

Remember that Harry can't wear the cloke when he's GOING to get it, so Snape might still see him on the way there. Hermione probably did wear it for a bit, but then took it off once she was somewhere that wasn't suspicious.

About Hermione’s exams, it’s possible only she is taking them at the same time, the teachers just figured “Well since you have the time turner, you could have two tests at once” just to save her a bit of time. Something like this happened with my exams in year 11, I took one exam a few hours before everyone else so I wasn’t there until 6 in the evening. I had to be isolated between tests so I couldn’t tell anyone what was on the test, maybe they just trusted Hermione.

OWLs are clearly the wizarding version of GCSEs which were call O-levels when Rowling was at school, where the O also stands for “ordinary”. NEWTs are clearly their version of A-levels, the A stands for “advanced”.

Maybe the thing that looked like a zero was an O for “outstanding” 😉
