I'm my head, I think that the person who was Sir Nicholas did fully die. But the ghost is the pale imitation of life, an imprint of his soul prior to death, therefore he cannot describe death as he (the imprint) didn't experience it. I could be misinterpreting though.

2024-10-08 05:00:29 +0000 UTCI think it would, Harry comes back (not as a ghost, but I think it proves the point) and it still works. What I’ve wondered: How does this sacrificial protection work concerning the “as long as Harry resides with his mothers relatives”. When does the protection stop working otherwise? The people of Hogwarts are protected, whilst they reside at Hogwarts where Harry died? Or is it because they reside where Harry’s blood (as he is still alive) still walks about? But normally the sacrificial protection comes to be when someone dies, so that persons blood is not around anymore. Does that mean that if you have no family (blood relatives) left, there is no use in dying for sacrificial protection?

2024-09-17 05:10:50 +0000 UTCI think horcruxes truly come from intent to kill. Dumbledore asks Snape to be the one to kill him to spare Malfoys soul, and when Snape asks about his own soul, Dumbledore reminds him that only he can decide if mercy killing would rip apart his soul. Tom would be actively trying to rip apart his soul every time he makes a horcrux, including the time he made Harry into one if you believe the theory he came to create a horcrux out of the Sword (which, of course, I do), so his soul is ripped apart plenty easy after using basilisk laser vision

2024-08-28 09:52:30 +0000 UTCWell here’s what I think and maybe someone else already said it. - Nick tells us why he became a ghost. He says he was weak and afraid of death. Simple as that. Plus he died in 1492 which was a long time ago and people were stirred into believing all sorts of stuff by the church … so there’s that. At least muggles were but wizards are still kinda old fashioned so maybe they were even worse back then. - the phrase “never really died” probably just refers to the fact that they never fully went on and came back before the got to experience the “on” that Nick is referencing. The on meaning afterlife or plain death or whatever happens after “Kings Cross”. Personally I think these are “facts” within HP … or just me opinion 😂

2024-08-27 11:13:50 +0000 UTCYou can get coffee literally everywhere in the UK. It’s even normally coffee, from beans, which you’d actually drink. Though I’ve been at a couple of greasy spoons in London where you get a mug of brown liquid with blobs of cheap instant floating on top. At those places you realise why tea can be so popular

2024-08-27 08:02:21 +0000 UTCI think in the movies, the trunks DO have wheels & roll. I seem to remember a scene where the kids are walking, pulling their trunks behind them like you would with a muggle suitcase at the airport. 😅 Also, with ghost thing, you have to remember that Moaning Myrtle was like 12 when she died, so a level of immaturity comes with being only 12! 😉 But I’m also kinda shocked/surprised that there isn’t more CHILDREN ghosts, then, too, given their immaturity & if there IS a “ghost door”, especially in like the Middle Ages when medicines/healing spells may not have been invented/created yet … I know it’s a bit morbid to talk about children dying, but … 🤔 And, maybe Seamus is just too shy to ask Parvti out; after all, “she’s the prettiest girl” in their year. So maybe it’s shyness … 🤔

2024-08-25 19:21:42 +0000 UTCif you can use occlumency to protect against Dementors, wouldn't that mean you could do the same against bagarts? then you could see it's natural state.

2024-08-24 20:50:51 +0000 UTCgreat episode. you had a video about brooms having cores like wands. does that mean they can choose who they work for? so maybe Neville isn't a bad flyer he just needs a more compatible broom?

2024-08-24 20:46:12 +0000 UTCWhat I always find strange is that apparently only Lupin knows how to ‘finish off’ a Boggart. He teaches it in class: it’s the laughing. Yet when Molly fails miserably, Moody does nothing to make everyone laugh. He basically does the same thing Molly does, but a bit more effective. He uses the spell (Ridikulus) without any imagination to make it funny. Also, does that mean you would need a group to really finish off a Boggart? Ron probably doesn’t laugh to much when the spider is still there whether is legs are taken off (book version) or it has roller skates on (movie version. Neville is probably still scared off Snape when he’s wearing his grandmothers clothes. Etc etc. It’s the bystanders that do the laughing really. So… you really need a group if people, always, to finish a Boggart???

2024-08-24 12:07:35 +0000 UTCVery interesting thoughts about ghosts not dying and the whole thing about Myrtle. Like you two have said, Myrtle’s death to cause a horcrux has always been a bit …. iffy lol. Another follow-up sort of related question would be if people chose to die (like Lily) but came back as a ghost, would sacrificial love work? Sort of the opposite of intent to love vs protect even if they don’t die. Also, Voldemort intends to kill Harry, but neither of them die, and it’s the intent to kill Harry that pretty much makes Harry a horcrux (aided by Lily) and Voldemort splits his own soul and doesn’t die. Not to mention Unforgivable Curses need intent, because Barty Crouch Jr says you need intent and a class of fourth years likely wouldn’t give him a nose bleed with Avada Kedavra
