The Owlery - Why Do You Think Voldemort's Horcruxes Failed?

I find this question interesting because Voldemort's horcruxes DIDN'T fail. He didn't die when he attacked Harry as a baby and successfully came back with a body in Goblet of Fire. His undoing was the diary. The diary provided Dumbledore with evidence that Voldemort had made horcruxes to begin with and gave Dumbledore time to factor that issue into his Plan. Which leads me to the question, what if Voldemort never made the diary? Would Dumbledore have figured out horcruxes were in play? Would it have been too late by the time he did figure it out, if he did?

Key word: THEORIZED. There is no actual canon evidence about the entire process of making a horcrux. There is no concrete evidence that it involves cannibalism. We only know parts of the process for certain. 1. Commit a murder without remorse or regret. 2. Use a "dark spell" to sever the damaged part of the soul (the spell is never revealed). 3. Place the severed soul fragment in an object. The murder must be a deliberate and conscious act and cannot be committed in self defense or to protect another. Those are all of the FACTS we have about making a horcrux.

Guys, I saw the super carlin video and then this, and I just realized that wormtail (ron's rat) most likely knew the dairy was destroyed (he wouldn't know it was an horcrux of course) but knowing that he was with Voldemort for over a year, this diary incident of basilisk must have come up. This would mean that Voldermort most likely thought that he only has a 5 part soul before he made nagini into a horcrux, meaning he thought that he was upgrading from 5 part soul into a 6 part soul and not a 6 part soul into a 7. So he always wanted the 7th horcrux to be made at harry's death but couldn't due to death eaters being around at the time. So fake sword wasn't a horcrux by this theory but probably was meant to be a horcrux after harry's death.

I don't think Voldy knew about the diary being destroyed until after he gained his body back and asked Lucius for it. I believe he punished Lucius for the carelessness of not protecting his diary. Even then, he didn't know Harry was tracking horcruxes until Harry escaped with the cup. Voldy cannot feel when a horcrux is destroyed interestingly.

Wait.. Harry pulled the sword in COS, so when did Voldy get sword to give to Bellatrix to put in her vault?

What's being forgotten is that jk rolling has said that there was that extra discussing but needed to make a horcrux. That has long been therized to be cannibalism. So if Voldemort is not doing that then all the other deaths won't make a horcrux. And as for when Harry dies should he want to do that there in the forest Infront of all his death eaters. I would imagine he would plan to take the body and in secret perform the ritual later
