How to claim Crysalis (itch.io)

So, as promised, a guide on how to claim this game on itch.io

Note: This only applies to new patrons, who haven't gotten a key from me manually.

First of all, check if you are in the correct tier. It should say "1x key to Crysalis (on itch.io)".
If that is the case, continue.

Please follow this link here: https://maxine-red.itch.io/crysalis-patreon/patreon-access

You will then be prompted with this.

There you can check, again, that you are pledging the right amount and press "Connect with Patreon"

Once you did, you should be seeing this

These permissions are needed to see your pledge amount and check that you are indeed eligible to gain access.
Press allow and you should be moved to the next screen!

Once you are at that screen, you are pretty much done.

You've gotten access to my game and keep access to it.

What are the different channels?

They have a few meanings.

You have prealpha, alpha, beta and nightly builds.

Prealpha are prototypes, to show off certain core functionality, currently in development.

Alpha builds won't have much content yet, but core functionality will be available.

Beta builds will have more content and a more finished product, it's more meant for final tests and to implement non-core features.

Nightly is used by me for very unstable builds. It's the most cutting edge and sort of where I just stopped working.
Be prepared for a lot of unexplained crashes and bugs, when using this channel.

Alpha and Beta channels also will be made available, once the game is in that development stage.

(Optional) Itch App

The itch app offers super easy management of this game (and others you claim on itch) for you.

First step is to click this link: https://itch.io/app

That should open this page

Just click "Start Download" or pick the platform you are using and download the executable.

Start that executable and be prompted with this screen

I recommend to keep the file location and then hit "Install now". This will install itch only for the current user (but doesn't require admin privilege then"

Watch the install process go. After it's done, you should be presented with a window like this

Easy enough, put in your credentials and Log In.

After the first login, your credentials are saved and you just have to click a button. But you have to login every time you start up the app.

Once you logged in, you can go to your Library. Here you see your installed games.

If you follows the instructions above, Crysalis should be in here.

Click on it and you should be given a window, that looks similar to the above.
That red button that says "Launch" should have "Install" on it and you should click it.
You're then prompted with an install screen. Pick the channel you like and install.

Once downloaded, you're brought back to the above screen and be able to play the game, just by hitting "Launch"

Bonus

If you like automated downloads, you should make sure that "Ask before updating anything" is not checked (seen above).

Other options can be enabled as you like. I prefer startup on PC startup and having it run in the background, but that's not required.

PS: What about steam?
Steam doesn't have easy Patreon integration, so steam keys will be delivered at a later point in time.
Also pre-alpha, alpha and beta channel versions, will also be posted here on Patreon.

Additionally, who already got a key, doesn't have to link their accounts, like this.
