Design your own character for Crysalis (Public) (closed)

Hey folks

Hero slots filled: 6/8 (closed)

Top row is hero slots, bottom row is boss slots. Also icons that are empty, are taken.

Available slots for heroes

• Air
• Ethereal

Rules

• First come, first serve
• Artist's Commission ToS apply
• Payment must be completed within 2 weeks (or else the slot is freed up again)
• Boss slots are only available until June 2nd

What I won't draw

• oversexualized characters** (hyper genitals)
• characters with multiple arms/legs* (driders, insects, etc)
• trademarked or other characters, I can't use for commercial uses

* unless I can draw them with one set of arms/legs
** The game will have a SFW mode, so I can't have characters that are NSFW by default

What do you get?

You will receive:

• Your character in my game!
• all associated pixel art of your character
• Name in credits and copy of game + access to WIPs

Extras

You can have me design special attacks for you, 2 attacks per 10€ extra. These attacks will be used for your character, but may also be used by others.

Heroes

Heroes will be playable characters. Which means they are going to be main characters.

They have a base price of 25€.

Please refer to above, on which element types are still free for heroes, pick one and let me know.

Optionally, you can also provide two colors, that would stick with your character (like pink and light blue, or yellow and green)

Bosses (closed)

Bosses won't be playable, but still very story important. Please refer to above, to see what element types are still open for boss slots.

Bosses also need to have a game over sequence. (At least one).

So their base price is 35€

They can also have special attacks.

Example of a game over scene, with mostly a small loop and a bit of an intro (where it fits). Additionally, there will be text, to give the scene more context. Here it would be: "Oh, it's you again? You made a lousy hero, but you make a very eager kobold."

So the hero turned into a, low ranking, kobold and try to impress their new dragon Master, with rather little success.

NPCs

NPCs can range from merchants, to just random people around. I'll open them, once I have good ideas for what I need.

They populate the world and have a few lines to say for themselves, but otherwise are rather basic, which is why they only cost 20€, as they won't have any combat frames.

They also can't have special attacks, of course.

Enemies

These refer to any non-boss related enemies. They won't be (usually) specific characters and are 35€ each, as they require combat frames.

Depending on primary element type, they can have a swimming animation set too, which is +15€.

What to provide?

Things I need from you:

• an email address, I can send a PayPal/Stripe/Payoneer invoice to
• visual references*
• an idea for your character

* These don't have to be your art, as they only serve as references for me. But make sure you own the rights to that character

Types

Types are what describe a character! There are 8 of them and each one has a specific meaning and changes how the game is played. More info on my other post

A quick summary though:

• Hallow: Good characters, who have high willpower and stand for order
• Corruption: Characters that stand for change and chaos and who are unpredictable
• Nature: Nature aligned characters, like animals, druids and similar, who are also strong and fast, but not the most loyal
• Earth: High defense and health tanks. Tough characters with thick stone or a stony nature
• Air: Agile and fast characters, who are not the strongest, but make up with their swiftness for that
• Fire: Raw power. They pride themselves with their strength and tend to be arrogant.
• Water: Cool and calculating. Very intelligent characters and/or those who live in water or are very water aligned.
• Ethereal: Characters that have a ghostly form and can't be harmed by physical attacks

Attacks

For attacks, what I need is, how powerful they should be, like should they do a lot of damage or maybe even be a potential instant-defeat?

Also if they're status inducing attacks, needs to be decided.

Additionally, what health they attack. Are they're attacks against the body or the mind?

What type of animation would they fit? (Here, all I really need is a description of what the attack does and I'll try to come up with an animation).

So to sum things up, I need:

• a rough estimate of attack strength
• does it inflict a status effect? (like poisoned, confusion, stun, etc)
• does it effect other stats (lower defense, raise attack, etc)
• does it influence HP or Corruption or both or neither?
