Dungeon TF Progress report (2023-04-20)

Hey folks!

The promised prototype will be published with this progress report.

Some things that are worth noting: I completely revamped the combat system and are going to keep it this way. It does need a lot of adjustments though and I am working on that.

It is 1 vs 1 now and looks like this

It will focus more on changing form and learning new forms and their attacks.

Yes, it is very much inspired by Pokemon, so expect something that will feel similar, but is its own thing.
Also the game will be an RPG, instead of a Roguelike/Rogulite. I just feel that you get too attached to your character, to make it the latter. Especially with such elaborated combats.

It just doesn't feel like it fits in the Roguelike genre anymore. But that also means more content, I am looking forward to making.

The idea will be a rather basic story, with 9 dungeons (one for each element type and 1 final one), with each having their own boss.

Each dungeon boss will also grand you more power in changing form into other monster types, which will temporarily change your stats into their stats (including weaknesses, strengths and attacks).

Later even, you will be able to learn new attacks, without having to change into that particular form.

For now, all of that is future stuff, but I am looking forward to making it a reality!

So what's the plan for the future?

Simply speaking, continuing where I left off.

This means balancing, adding game over stuff, adding content (like tilesets, sprite sheets, etc)

Also adding more attacks and building a system around that.

I can also not say when the next prototype will be out.

A lot of work, these days, is making concepts. These don't translate into code, or anything that you can play, immediately.
Also I'm preparing art for things, that are not part of the prototyping process right now (but I will need later).
So, it might be another two months, until a bigger prototype comes out. Though I might give smaller ones, with a few adjustments.

Other news?

Yeah, I also decided to, eventually, release this game to both steam and itch.

The steam page will be up soonish (in the next few months) and will be only a SFW version of the game.
It will still contain a lot of TF and horny implications, but they're limited to cartoon horny stuff.
Everything explicit will not be included there. That is, because I have no clue how steam handles that stuff in my country and I don't want to risk it.

If you want the NSFW version, you will get it on itch. I got a lot more confidence putting it up there. Both will also play identical, just some game over scenes will only be available in the itch build.

Both of that is far in the future though, but I wanted to let you know!
