Dungeon TF concepts (2023-02-13)

Hey folks,

Sorry that there is still no new playable prototype. Last week, I concentrated on finishing the last commissions, I had, so that I can concentrate on this game in full.

Instead I decided to talk a bit about the shape of the game.

For now, there are three zones planned.

A more forest like looking one

A more dungeon like one (this one you've seen a lot already)

And last, but not least, a more hellish looking one


Each comes with their own set of perils and enemies (most of them not yet included, as I need to draw them)

Each enemy also gets their own TF scene. Though, some will end you permanently, others will have you have other fates.

Some will have you roam the map again, for the next hero to encounter. This can be an enemy or an NPC. Which it will be, depends on the circumstances and enemy.

The dungeon is the most finished for now. It will have kobolds, dragons, slimes, slime queens and nagas.

Kobolds will be roaming the map and look for shinies. They ignore you, if you leave them be and if you don't have anything shiny on you! If you decide to attack, or they want your gear, they will alarm all kobolds around. So prepare for a tough fight.

Dragons will be stationary and guard their hoard. They always spawn with riches, but will spawn in kobolds to protect themselves and to go after you. They are also tough enemies, but the loot will be worth it.

Slimes roam the dungeon and attack you on sight. You can't sneak up on them at all, but they are also not the toughest enemies.

Slime queens, on the other hand, will spawn more and more slimes and well, you might fight an army of them, if you're not careful. They are stationary, but tough and keep spawning slimes, so be careful when engaging them.

Nagas will roam the dungeon in search for heros. They attack on sight and can take a punch. Their fangs are also poisonous, so be careful when engaging them. Or you might be poisoned by them.


Other mob ideas are: goblins, gnolls, orcs, spriggans, dryads, devils, incubi/succubi and imps.
I need to figure out how they work and how they look though.

Which I work on, while I also work on the mob AI and combat system.
