Set back by my art program

I was sitting down, to work on this project and saw that my art program, Pro Motion NG, updated.
So far, nothing bad, just some layout changes, some keybind changes. It was actually looking quite nice...
Until I saw they removed a tool, that was essential to me.
In earlier versions, you could copy a layer over several frames, then paste it back in. That allowed me to do animations relatively easy. Just copy parts and adapt them.
Well, I searched the entire program and it looks like they completely removed it. The alternative is using animbrushes, which are... very badly implemented.
So yeah... Also, because I installed it via steam, I cannot go back to an older version for long...
I also have Asprite, so I might look into that. But having to switch art program mid project isn't helping with the pace.
Not sure how much this will set me back and how to get a satisfying solution, but I'll keep you updated.
