It's good but not better. Guess it all depends on which era of hers is your favorite. The Anthology is very Evermore and Folklore which I love. The first half of the album is more like Midnights, Rep and Lover which I also love. Excellent writing all around.

2024-06-23 05:23:49 +0000 UTCI so glad you recognize she’s a battle rapper - I think she’s heavily influenced by Eminem and has featured Kendrick on the Bad Blood remix (one reason I think Kendrick went to Jack antonoff for his Drake diss…) Heroin=another shot at Matty - Heroine = Taylor to Travis 🤭 Pretty sure loml is also Matty but does it even matter? This album has layers and they’re all cloaked in Taylor and who she is and that’s what I love about it. Yours are THE BEST reactions and I wish I hadn’t missed this live🙏🏼🫶💯🫶🙏🏼💯

A lot of hints - I don't think she'd call Joe a coward, and the coward line fits with her characterization of Matty as small. There is an undercurrent of betrayal and disingenuousness in the lyrics (counterfeit, fakes), which is also in line with how she portrays him. Then there's the reference to the suit and tie... The rekindled flames also because they first connected 10 years prior, when they "were just kids babe," the "time she was away" being when she was with Joe. She thought she was better"safe" with Joe than "starry eyed" with Matty. I've been tripping on this and wondering if anyone else thought the same!

Promised her everything when they were texting while she was still with Joe, but very unhappy since Joe was emotionally distant. They had the history from being friends or more years previous. So he was telling her that she was the love of his life, wanting to marry her, etc. Promised her everything her broken heart wanted. And then once he got her, he was a drug addicted idiot who ghosted her after only a month or two.

Or at least the ones that think they know better than her about her own life. In my own opinion, I think the song is about Travis. How everyone was warning her about his outbursts and high energy. They thought he wasn't good enough for her. Travis also mentioned in an interview that all the talk about their relationship is just noise that they ignore.

I liked Taylor Swift before, simply because her music just takes you through all the emotions and really makes you feel. But thanks to your breakdowns I also listen with my mind now and I'm just in awe of her writing skills. My favorite song on this one would be "So long London", because it finishes off an unplanned trilogy of lovesongs over three Albums. "London Boy" from Lover makes a happy start, then it turns tragic in "You're losing me" from Midnights and in this one she is saying goodbye to that chapter of her life. The first and last song have a connection through the song titles, but the second and last even connect through the lyrics. In "You're losing me" she sings "My face was gray, but you wouldn't admit that we were sick", and in "So long London" she's referring to that again with "And I'm just getting color back into my face". Thank you for showing me how to make connections like that.

I'm really hoping and looking forward to the second part. I haven't listened to the full album yet (I'm the only one here who likes tswift) and I just didn't want to listen to it alone. I was ecstatic to see you doing the whole album (the 1st part at least so far). I've tried listening to other reactors but they dont seem to catch the stuff you do. So thank you for taking the time to do this, it felt like I was listening with other people who appreciates the music and the artist for more than just surface level.
