There is SO much to be said about this play in JUST THE FIRST PART! the fact that both Hamilton and Burr both had affairs with married women and yet Burr almost becomes president when Hamilton lost his shot at it. Lin pointed out in one interview how he purposefully gave Lafayette one of the fastest raps in the show after his character started out barely being able to speak english. The "immigrants, we get the job done." line when Lin's parents immagrated from Puerto Rico. The scene between Hamilton and Burr where Hamilton says, "What are you waiting for, what do you stall for? We won the war, Burr, now what was it all for" has the rhythm and rhyme scheme that makes you expect to hear, "If you stand for nothing, Burr, what will you fall for?" And that's just SOME of the genius web he's weaved. I can never get enough of Lin Manuel Miranda, the Mozart of our time.

I'm watching along and it IS a nightmare trying to stay synced XD Especially since he doesn't say when he's about to play again, so it's a lot of me pausing, letting one video get ahead to a place I can identify the mouth movements, and playing the other when the audio gets there. The worst is when I JUST got it synced perfectly after a pause and then he hits pause again :P I usually love a lot of pausing in reactions but trying to keep up is tedious (especially since so much of this show is rap and very timing-based so if you're slightly off it's super distracting) Still a great reaction though!

Looks like it is hosted on YouTube so he still has to deal with some copyright issues. Generally the ones who post reactions with video use vimeo, but I have heard that it can cost them quite a bit to use that service (could be wrong). There are a lot of reactors on patreaon who just keep it safe and just have their reaction recorded and have timestamps for what they are watching and you still need the service to watch. I don't think Knox usually does this sort of thing so he is still figuring it all out on how to react to movie like content hence the constant pausing making it a nightmare to sink up the video.

I thought the point of patreon was that you didn’t have to worry about copyright issues? This is the first time I’ve ever joined anyone’s patreon, as I really loved yr reaction to the soundtrack etc, but I was expecting the video of what you were watching to be down in the corner of the screen.. I’ve watched Hamilton hundreds of times but still, I’m not sure how this is going to work without multiple devices set up.

And yeah, there is plenty of evidence in their correspondences that they were deeply attracted to each other, being true soulmates in a sense, with both being fiercely intelligent and outspoken and being on the same page in their opinions of things. Still, despite people trying to make rumors about them, they never cheated with each other. I don't know if Alexander would have if Angelica was willing, but she was *intensely* loyal to her sister and never would have.

I don't know if I mentioned this on the live reaction, but you can thank Hugh Laurie a bit for "You'll Be Back". While Lin was writing Hamilton, he had a temporary role in the show "House, M.D", starring Hugh Laurie. (Who you might not know is actually British, despite his impeccable American accent in the show.) He was talking to Hugh Laurie between the scenes and mentioned that he was struggling to write a breakup song for King George III to the Colonists. Hugh Laurie put on a kingly pose and in his poshest British accent, he said, "Oh, you'll be back." And thus, the song was born. LOL

Adding to Angelica and Alexander’s relationship, they were excellent friends, mainly because he was married to her sister. Nevertheless, they were very close and had deep affection for one another. In the Alexander Hamilton autobiography by Ron Chernow, he mentions, “the attraction between Hamilton and Angelica was so potent and obvious that many people assumed they were lovers. At the very least, theirs was a friendship of unusual ardor”. Overall there is evidence that Angelica would joke with Eliza about sharing Alexander with her, just like in the musical.

Can’t wait for you to react to more Daveed Diggs (Lafayette/Jefferson). Guns and Ships is actually rather slow for him. Check out his experimental hip hop band Clipping. (Maybe try Blood of the Fang) and also his solo work. His movie Blindspotting with best friend Rafael Casal is awesome and so is the soundtrack (try Easy Come, Easy Go). They’ve now made Blindspotting into a tv show on Starz with Jasmine Cepheus Jones (Peggy/Maria) as lead. The movie and more so the show incorporate a lot of spoken word/verse. And add the BET Hamilton Cypher to your list—Lin, Daveed, Renee, Black Thought and Questlove.

To answer some of your questions/thoughts: - No, Lin did not write the role for himself, when the casting came along he was torn between playing Burr and Hamilton. - The actor playing King George is the amazing Jonathan Groff, and the spitting thing is a character choice to portray the king as sort of a rabid dog - His crown weighs A LOT, which is the reason the king can't really move much and has to walk quite stiffly - Lin has said that in his opinion, the songs he wrote for Burr (Wait for It, Room where it happens) where among the best he'd ever written - The ensemble member who does the bullet thing is a secret character, actually nicknamed the Bullet - every time a character is about to die, they first come into contact with her. - When it comes to the real Angelica and Alexander, she actually admitted to being in love with him, and Eliza felt betrayed by her confession.

The guy playing King George is Jonathan Groff. He voices Kristoff in Frozen, plays Jesse St. James in Glee, Patrick Murray in Looking, Holden Ford in Mindhunter and Smith in Matrix Resurrections. He was also in an episode of And Just Like That (the Sex and the City sequel) He and Lin-Manuel Miranda has the sweetest and funniest relationship as shown in several YouTube clips :D

Knox, you should look into the story of Angelica and her husband! He was deeply entangled in their lives. He was with Phillip during his duel, it's his guns that Phillip actually used in the fight. When Hamilton and Burr duel, her husband was Hamilton's 2nd and Hamilton used the same guns in their fight. Angelica and her husband also play apart in Lafayette's story, helping him break out of prison the 1st time he was captured in Austria. His name was John Baker Church and he's not nearly as boring as the play says he is lol

Hamilton never recovers from Lauren's death. Laurens was his best friend and he never again has a close male friend. If you look at their letters it is speculated that they were a lot more than friends. Which is hinted at in the play by the looks between LMM and Ramos.
