My plans for the next build

For this month I want to develop "The Institute", a place where you'll be able to hang out when not playing a mission or map. The Institute is the main building of the Cruz Institute, the entity to which Red (the main character) is aligned to. In this location you will:

The Institute will be very similar in function to the Carrington Institute from Perfect Dark, or the Doom Fortress from Doom Eternal.

The main use I think most people will make of this new area of the game will be to get freer access to the more lewd side of the game. My plans right now include a room that will let you spawn characters, choose a pose and have sex with them. I'm also thinking of a more robust sex system that could allow you to choose a camera type, like 1st, 2nd (voyeur) or 3rd person.

Over time you will be able to unlock all the characters you'll see in the main campaign, different poses/animations for sex, and some other features as I add them to the game in the future.

I'm also working on the facial animations/expressions system for the game. So far I've been using bone animations for the faces of the characters. Every piece of art you've seen, including the cover art of the releases on itch.io, are made using bone animations. Turns out that the amount of expression you can give to a character using only that method, is very limited. Normally, there's another mesh deformation system used in these cases, which is called Blendshapes, or Morphs. I am also working on implementing those for the next build, specially for the sex.
