Ryona Assassins was a placeholder name that I used for the project initially. I sticked with it mainly because of the beautiful logo my girlfriend made at the time, but I never really accepted it on the inside. Now that we have sex finally in the game, I though it would be a good time to once and for all choose the real name I wanted the game to have. So, here it is: Orchid Rain.

You can claim the build here, if you're a $2+ patron. I haven't made it public yet because I need to work on the free version, and making a new release without a free demo could hurt a little. After one or two days I'll have the complete release ready and public, but for now, as promised, patrons already have access to the build. As always, let me know about any bugs or problems in the discord.

Why Orchid Rain?

Before I explain that, I'd like to announce that I've made a very simple "wiki-like" site that contains some of what I have written so far for the lore of the game. In short, the Dorus, as the girl enemies have been being called so far, are the soldiers of a private army serving a mega-corporation, which shares the name of the game. This corporation develops climate changing technologies, something that in the context of the story makes them very powerful, hence the Rain part of the name.

I loved the idea and the sound of something along the lines of "Blue Rain" for the name of the game. Rain to me sounds like abundance, something that refers to the endless number of henchgirls you'll encounter. Though the color wasn't right. The uniforms are purple, but Purple Rain is actually the name of an existing song, so that wouldn't do. What's something that's purple then? Orchids are! And they are also sometimes associated with sensuality. The flower itself looks kinda erotic, so that'd be a good fit.
