Playtest Preview: A Heavenly Treasure
Added 2024-05-21 00:07:57 +0000 UTCDue to family reasons, I was unable to attend CanGames in Ottawa to playtest Wandering Blades. That said, I will be heading to Anime North here in Toronto for panels and playtesting! I've been a bit dissatisfied with the Wolf of Longshan adventure and wanted to try something better suited to one-shot, convention play.
I am currently working on a story called A Heavenly Treasure, where a group of martial arts disciples must travel to a borderland town to settle a dispute between a county magistrate and a swordsmithing family.
Here's a quick preview:
In the dead of night on the spring equinox, a violet meteorite fell to the earth and landed in the property of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye, a swordsmith couple who recently took up roots in town. Seeing it as an auspicious sign, they began attempting to tame the metal and shape it into a blade worthy of the annals of history. As they attempted to hammer out the impurities contained within the strange ore, the melodic reverberations echoed through town and caught the attention of the county magistrate. Claiming ownership of their work, the magistrate will do whatever it takes to reap the rewards of their labour.
Once I get a round of playtesting in, I'll post the complete adventure here - just for you folks!
