Idea Sharing: Sunder Maneuver

Now that the latest update to the quickstart is out, I am pivoting my efforts to the complete core book. While reorganizing all of the content to ensure accessible flow, I had a random thought: characters should be able to break weapons in combat.

So here is my initial idea.

Special Maneuver: Sunder (Action)

When attacking an opponent's weapon, the attacker rolls a melee attack using STRENGTH against a difficulty determined by the target's rolled DEXTERITY SAVE. On a success, the attacker rolls damage and compares the total to the maximum damage capability of the target weapon. If the damage is higher, the weapon is destroyed. Otherwise, it is unaffected.

This special maneuver can only be attempted against a weapon of a smaller weight category and of a material that could be reasonably destroyed by the attack (i.e. wood cannot sunder metal). The GM may HINDER the attacker's roll based on context.
