Raise your Hammer in April 2024

⚒️ Greetings, Adventurers, Merchants, and dear Collectors!
Andrea here, sculptor and ceo at Artisan Guild!

I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. It's with great excitement and a touch of personal sentiment that I share some news with you all.

We've finally reached our monthly goal – the latest batch of 3D printable miniatures has been completed! I couldn't be more eager to present to you the trailer for the minis that will be gracing your tabletops in the coming weeks.

As we step into April, a month close that marks my 35th birthday, I couldn't resist the opportunity to delve deeper into one of my favorite fantasy races – the dwarves. Specifically, I've decided to expand the dwarves of Mundus with my favorite vocation/class: the berserker.

The raw strength, primal fury, and unwavering resolve of the dwarven berserkers have long captivated my imagination. It's a theme that resonates deeply with me and inspires my creativity – be it writing, drawing, or sculpting.

For years, I've yearned to sculpt this particular theme, but I often felt that my skills weren't quite up to the task.
However, this year, I made a conscious decision to push myself beyond my perceived limitations, and I'm incredibly proud of the result. In just a month's time, I've crafted a faction of dwarven berserkers that I can't wait to share with you all.

On a more personal note, I must acknowledge the challenges I've been facing recently. The noisy environment in which I currently reside and where i built Artisan Guild Studios (and my home) has made it incredibly difficult to focus and concentrate on my work. Sleep and working has become a luxury in any hour of the day or night, as constant barrage of noise and loud barks during the night here in Los Llanos (La Palma in Canary Islands) has taken its toll on my well-being.
I'm doing my best to address the situation legally, but it's been a trying journey.
I appreciate your patience and understanding during this time, I apology to be so late on presenting the trailer and for my absence in the community. I assure you that I'm doing everything in my power to overcome this (hopefully temporary) obstacles, as I must use the very few time and energy I have to continue sculpting.

Tarum Bloodhammer (my character!) painted by the talented Dave Wright

I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to my dear friends at Wind Rose, particularly Federico, Francesco and Claudio. Their epic music has been a source of immense inspiration for me, and I'm incredibly grateful for their generosity in allowing me to use their track "Fellows of the Hammer" in this trailer. This song perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the month, as our dwarven heroes set out to reclaim Goldvein from the clutches of the dreaded Frostheart Linnorm.

About the Linnorm, in April I'd love you to be able to print the Great Linnorm of Frostheart, for this reason I decied to have this mini as Throwback miniature in the month (in any tier), so please remember to not buy it now since it will be free for our subscribers next month :)

Thank you all for your unwavering support and encouragement. Together, we'll continue to embark on thrilling adventures and bring our shared visions to life.

Until next time, may your dice be ever in your favor!

Warm regards,

Andrea

Hi I love your minis they are fantastic. I been wondering have you thought about making some shark folks or octopus people with Māori thematic in your style they will look awsome. Thanks for the incredible minis so far

Luis Gutierrez

Small folk would be great. it's been a while since the smallsword tales. I think there is quite a bandwidth of possibilities to be covered. We're having fun using the AG-minis for our fantasy roleplaying group. I've always been a fan of dwarves and barbarians (ideally both), but since playing a Lightfoot halfling gloomstalker ranger, I'm falling in love with a more badass version of these sneaky little bastards. It would be nice to see a guerilla halfling unit (even if there are some of the more 'physically robust' crew members for the traditionalists). However keep going with your great work! I'm already looking forward to the next release. Whatever it will be...

Grimbeard

Great News about more short folks! No offense intended and in the end, Mundus is your world and we are all but guests. But your argument about Hobbits being unique to Tolkiens lore can be made for many common fantasy races. Elves and Orcs are also Tolkiens creations in the first place and you hardly find a Fantasy RPG or mniature collections without them. As I mentioned in my original post, something halfling-like would be great and I am really exited about the news that some short folk is going to come to Mundus. Of course in your unique way and style fitting to your world.

Markus Richert

I see your points! We draw inspiration from folklore, fantasy and myth to create our own design, we don't copy existing franchising. Hobbits are something unique and special from Tolkien's universe, not something that you'll find in Mundus. We will make short folk soon, you can use them for halflings in your favourite rpg for sure, but they will have a unique twist that fit our world :)

Artisan Guild

Grazie Mattia! :)

Artisan Guild

IF we're getting halflings, I'd really rather they NOT be Hobbits. I prefer the 3.x D&D halflings that wear shoes and aren't sedentary, pot-smoking gourmands, as those just have little overall utility in fantasy games. I imagine I may be in the minority there, but still...

Mercurius

A parte il video, che con quella musica è una cannonata, questo set di nan berserker è fantastico. Bravissimo.

Mattia

Fried or baked? Or maybe just lightly seared to keep in the juices?

BarelyA Survivor

Got it, thank you so much!

Omar Elsamna

Like all your dwarven minis absolutely stunning. I really like your style. Obviously you have a knack for dwarves and elves (I mean Alfar, of course). But what about the small people? There is one collection centered around gnomes, any thoughts or plans considering a halfling-like race in mundus?

Markus Richert

Thats a good point.

BarelyA Survivor

That's just because they live underground. :P

Sporf

Wishing you success and all the luck you require too. Big helping of justice too.

John O'Brien

Haha fantastic! Wind Rose are the best!

Artisan Guild

Thanks!

Artisan Guild

Thank you! I'm glad you like them

Artisan Guild

Thanks John! I wish that the problem will solve, the law is by my side, but I'm not sure I want months of battle in the tribunal :( Hopefully it works and I have not yo leave my place, it would slow work so much

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much Jim! I'm happy you noticed the similiarities :)

Artisan Guild

These are an extension of the Lok-Badar Dwarves, and the mountaineers too :) I'd love to extend older sets! I just want to make sure to make also unexpected minis :)

Artisan Guild

Thank you Marius!

Artisan Guild

Thank you Peter! I wanted to go big with the Epic Boss end mounts

Artisan Guild

Thanks Guillermo! Would definitely sleep well if not for my neighbors dogs barking day and night non stop. Will endure as much as I can like a Dwarf would do :)

Artisan Guild

We are still working on the new recruitment system. I think before day 15

Artisan Guild

Thank you Nick!

Artisan Guild

Hello! Thanks, we are working hard on the rpg every time the sculpts are done at the mond ends. And guilds too! Physical Guilds card had not made yet because I want to change something on the recruitment system, points value could change

Artisan Guild

I love dwarves!

Artisan Guild

Hello Demo! It's the link below the release link

Artisan Guild

It's the link below :) he is a throwback mini from few years ago

Artisan Guild

Thank you, I definitely wanted to make something that would resemble a fantasy Dwarven boat

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much Brent!

Artisan Guild

I'll ask him, he's going very fast as we need to paint many minis each month, so making a guide could be not easy. I hope so :)

Artisan Guild

Looks great, and Happy Birthday!

Brent Staker

I love that the fixture on the mammoth's back looks like a viking longboat. Incredible mounts this month

Jay R

Does Dave do any tutorials or guides on his paints? I'd love to see how he did the tattoo on the Tarum sculpt pictured here

Jay R

It's a different link.

François Marchant

Great set, can't seem to find the throwback Linnorm in the downloaded files though. Help?

Omar Elsamna

How would you access the throwback boss once the set comes out? will it just be with the other miniatures?

demo

Dwarves hold grudges until they die of old age, then they stuff and mount them on a shelf, And after they rot away, they rebuild them in metal, to keep them fresh and shiny near their heart. The Dwarf motto "Never Forget or Forgive an Insult". But also "The Sun Never Sets on A True Dwarven Friendship".

BarelyA Survivor

When you make content I don't like, it's still some of the best content out there. The models are so great, detailed and dynamic.

MalkavianLogic

Oh! I’d also love to see some steam powered Dwarven suits!

Matthew Jones

Happy Birthday !! - This set is amazing. Congratulations on your work. I hope the RPG will be born - do you think you market the cards? (sorry for my poor English) :)

Jérémie

Female dwarfs! Awesome! Also, very excited for that mammoth mount! Stunning!

Nick

When will the Guild cards be released?

Thomas Lopez-Anderson

Bravo! Again your skills amaze us all! The sculpts and facial expressions inspire me to set up a full war between these dwarves and the frosthearts. The weapons are incredible and perfect for customizing previous sets. You take care of yourself, sleep is the most important for our physical, mental and emotional well being. You have all our support! Vamos!!!

Guillermo Gonzalez

That epic model made my jaw DROP. Seriously insane! And those cavalry units look so coooooool!!

Peter Denby

Awesome!!! Just awesome!! Wow these dwarfs and mounts are wow!

Marius jansen

Love this set! No one is messing with those mounts. Liking the colour palette too. I also am excited for the extension of an existing range. Will you do this for some of your other previous releases ? ( please)

Lee James

Love these. So full of character. Love how they have similarities to both the dragonpeak barbarians, and the other dwarven releases, yet are still very unique and special. Love your work.

Jim Sørensen

You take care of yourself and I hope that you speedily resolve this issue and find much energy, sleep and calm in your life soon. We love your work, but your health and wellbeing is more important. Thanks again for your creativity and your gifts x

John O'Brien

WOW! Looks Amazing🤗 Can’t wait to print and paint these! And happy upcoming birthday🎉

Stickboy

Artisan guild stuff shrinks pretty well. I find setting the dwarves goblins and kobolds to 82% puts them at about the right size.

Sporf

What a set...

Mansonian

Awesome set! And taste in music. (Amusingly I was listening to Wind Rose when I saw your email arrive.) :)

Martin Dickson

Ops, sorry Malkavian! I hope you still like the mammoth and the behemots!

Artisan Guild

Thanks! It's in few days :) Uff, I feel what you mean, but a silence dogs spell would be enough! Shame on their owner for never bringing them to a walk

Artisan Guild

Thank you!

Artisan Guild

Thanks my friend! Feel free to ask Dave in his Instagram, I put a link below the picture :) hugs!

Artisan Guild

A versión to fit regular base is shown in the picture to the side :) it will fit without the orr'ug below

Artisan Guild

Happy upcoming birthday!! I adore your dwarves, and I'm thrilled to see more of them! Even though I never use female dwarves (don't think they exist!) yours are still the coolest ones I've ever seen. This is a great addition to the dwarven lineup. And man, I feel you when it comes to dogs. I once lived where my neighbor had four giant dogs in a tiny back fence, and they NEVER shut up. I love animals, but I used to wish those dogs would just explode or something. It was terrible to live next to. Good luck!

B. Griffith

I love our yearly Dwarven Month!!! I know they aren’t the most original ideas but I’d love to see some sea faring dwarves or aerial dwarves one day! And of course some technological dwarves (but gnomes fill that roll well too).

Matthew Jones

Holy Crap those mounts look insane!

3dKleetus

Love that pose on Tarum, but I have some trepidation about printing it up and getting it to fit on a standard "Medium" creature base for Pathfinder (25mm). Looks so cool, though!

Mercurius

As I laid my head down to rest I thought "I've yet to see next months release from Artisan Guild! What ever could it be?" I was excited for just a moment to see an update till I remembered that it is for April, my birth month, but also your birthday and what that entails. Coincidentally your favorite fantasy race is my least favorite race XD

MalkavianLogic

These are fantastic! I will definitely be painting up 2 few of these for my slayers! And I love the paint scheme! Would love to know the colours used for the skin. As always, the minis look amazing!

Abdul Rahman Khan

Thank you! I think it would work very well!

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much! I'm really happy of the behemots!

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much! I tried my best this month, and Dwarves are my favourite faction :)

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much Ryley!

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much! And congratulation to get all the files, your support is great, I really appreciate it!

Artisan Guild

Thank you so much Jess!

Artisan Guild

Thanks my friend! I'd love too... Here we can't even have good habits of go sleeping earlier, the neighbors dogs keep barking during the night very loud, we are lucky if they shut up from 3am to 7am!

Artisan Guild

Thanks Jeremy! It's from some time I wanted to make some Behemots!

Artisan Guild

Thank you guys! Dave is totally a great painter!

Artisan Guild

This set has me the most hyped i have been for along time, the mounts are phenomenal. I am so glad they are back with this set

Ryley Dempsey-Spearing

Wow, the set looks amazing. I’m proud to say I have every single one of your sets now (despite joining the monthly subscription very recently.) I’m extremely impressed with the quality you always deliver and this set looks to be no exception. Can’t wait to print and paint some of these!

nnurgle2

Damn this is a loaded set this month. A real standout.

Carole Stueben

Great set (as usual)! I'm surprised how much I love the Behemot Riders.

Diplomacy

No need to apologize for anything. Everything in this set (and every before it) is incredible. Get some rest as i put more of your beautiful sculpts on my shelves and on my game table!

Jess Boudrie

I definitely think the addition of painted minis in the vids is a good idea. Sometimes it's hard to notice details with just the grey sculpts.

Ryan Woodroof

I posted before watching the video. Holy crap, those are amazing sculpts! The beasts, and the Mammoth! Wow. Draugr would be great. You can go heavy armor like wights, or it would be cool to see some Dwarven wraiths or a Dwarven Banshee even.

Ryan Woodroof

Get some sleep my friend. I'm over 30 so I know what it's like to be tired. We will still be here cheering you on!

Nenad Savanovic

Those cavalry units are INSANE!

Jeremy Pitt

Thank you so much Ryan! Happy to concide with another fan of the dwarves! Any idea for the next april? I think that we could need Dwarves Draugr servant of the dread Linnorm in the ruins of Goldvein...

Artisan Guild

Amazing set yet again - love seeing those hand painted models too <3 ~ also that music is so hype

Mini Manatee

I love that you dig dwarves as much as I do and that our birthday months coincide. It's like a birthday present to me as well to see new Dwarf models in April!
