Help us with the March Epic Boss

Hey Adventurers!
Would you mind help me finding the best epic boss to suit the next release?
But first, some words on the next theme.

After working on the Faldorn Goblins the last weeks, I really wanted to get to work on some orcs.
It's a very long time i don't sculpt some of my favorite creatures of the fantasy world, and I feel that after so much time my style have changed a bit. With so much inspiration I started sketching a lot, and I ended up making some more bestial looking orcs compared to the Orc Barbarians released years ago.

I think that this specific nomad clan of orcs could be reminiscent of both Ogres and Orcs, to justify the more bestial look of this people.
Well, in the Oni release we had a fantastic character called Yoshigruzu who was half-orc and half ogre, but we never specified the name of his specie.

Half Orcs, Half Ogre

At the moment I'm calling them Orogs, but I feel that this name is too similiar to LOTR Uruks, so perhaps we will go for something more unique. You are invited to bring some name suggestions for this specific type of orcs in the comment :)

The Orogs (temp. name) are a nomad clan of half orc and half ogre of the steppe between Rotvar and Skutagaard, forced to raid villages and other orcish clan in order to survive.

Lords of the Wolves

Now, they will probably ride wolves, as I want to make some new big wolves (or worgs) that can be used both as cavalry AND monsters for your rpg campaigns, and of course as cavalry and beasts for Guilds.

The Epic Boss of the Steppe Orogs

It would be certainly fantastic to make a porwerful epic worg as epic boss for the month, but I feel that there are other options that might work aswell and perhaps excite you more.

The Epic Boss of march will be a huge beast that one of the two heroes will ride into battle, probably a powerful Orog warchief (not certain if it will appear as a male or female). It could be either a creature of their lands, or one captured by them, as long as it fit the set.

Please note that I like to make each Epic beast to really stand out as a supernatural being, so the animals in the Poll will be twisted a bit to rapresent a legendary creature of this clan.

This post will be public once the poll ends on day 10 of February 8:30 AM WET.
Once we have to votes total at that hour will sum them up with the ones from Tribe :)

Thanks friends!
I hope you are looking forward to the next release!

Comments

im curious about this mammoth now, is it similar to the Oilipants on LOTR?

The_ Hybred

☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️☺️

Yen Vlogs 08

Look at the older lore of bears, and how they were regarded in Europe. They weren't exactly goodly guardians of the woodlands, more... hellish beasts bent on destroying you and all you loved.

Steven Schnepp

Yarim, it means "half" in Turkish.

Miklos de Rijk

I admire you! You have your hobby and you can show how it's interesting😃

YourMagnet_adult_version

Gruks, Gurks or Gorcs

R Scott Malone

Could we have a Giant Dire Brahma Chicken as an option instead?

John Phillips

This is such a cool idea. I hope it gets noticed and added to some other future set.

Kory Kennedy

It would be great if the Mongolian orc chief was like zurgo helmsmasher

Ricardo Oshonasi

Giant mystical bear? Really guys? Well it does have multiple purposes. Scale it down and its a good Druid/ranger companion or Druid wild shape.

Guillermo Gonzalez

GREAT, really need these orcs for my next project. Hope there is a bow :)

PaBa

Greatorcs?

Tristin Hauptman

a powerful Orog warchief (not certain if it will appear as a male or female) FEMALE!

Dave Stone

Giant Monkey is the correct answer :)

Stiltschen

I'd love to throw in an idea not on here. After a recent trip to the Smithsonian museum of natural history, a take on the extinct ground sloth could be really cool and terrifying.

Max

Rexxar! Half Orc/Ogre with his bear Misha :)

Mini Manatee

Steppe bear? As in something similar to the extinct Eurasian brown bear?

Martin Dickson

I really appreciate the versatility. Wolf mounts become separate wolves. For the big beast I like things I can use and show off. For me that’s Maticore or Drsgons. You can’t have enough dragons :)

Mark Nold

Honestly, I don't know why an orc would be with a bear. Bears are usually with more spiritual forest creatures like elves or dwarves. I'm not understanding why an orc would have a giant bear giant wolf or a mammoth or a rhino or something like that seems more suited to orcs even the giant yak if they were northern orcs

Michael Abraham

what is the difference between worg and giant wolf ?? What do you think about WereYak of mar... ;p

christophe collaine

I think they would worship something of great physical size and power, similar to the way the Frostmetal Orcs had the big wooly rhino thing. I think Yak or Bear might make the most sense, I would like to see you do a bear because it is something fairly common but havent had your take on it (that I can remember) My first vote would be for monkey though, although maybe not for this faction, I would like to see your version of a giant gorilla! (maybe later)

BigKittyPaints

I love making boars! Have you seen the hogs/boars coming in the blackrazor hobgoblin set? Also I made many years ago for the second release a heroic mount boar (called wulf-hog)

Artisan Guild

I’d love to see a dire boar mount in the future.

Doppelhänder

I agree, because that was not what I was commenting on. there is an overabundance of bear mounts. which is why I advicate for a less obvious mount like the mobkey or iguana. Im not saying we need a tardigrade mount for the orcs.

Niels Korteling

It also says they are the Lords of Wolves, so surely a giant wolf would be cool, maybe elemental in nature like a huge frost wolf, with an icy mane and icicle fangs.

The test

Orog is one of the things Half orc/ half ogres are called in D&D, that and Ogrillion. But how about Logre (little ogre) or Greorcs (great orcs) or perhaps the local humans misheard and call them Grey Orcs.

Sporf

Oh that's just what I needed, thank you!

Andrew Parsons

Complete originality isn't always good either. In general we use terms like orcs and elves because there is a wealth of history and information behind those terms. Which makes talking about them easier. The same can be said for cultural reference within fantasy worlds.

Dj Dye

There may be an ocean of bear models BUT there are not any Epic AG bear models. I do think an Elephant with multiple trunks and pairs of tusks would be an awesome model, but I don't feel that it fits the Orog's. I'm sure AG could make it fit but...

Dj Dye

3DPaint is a free and readily available program that will let you digitally "Paint" an stl file. I have used it a couple times and it works pretty good. You can even get the Hex codes for popular paint colors and add them in so you get the actual color. And can change lighting to see how they my differ in different settings.

Dj Dye

I'm not sure, but i sometime color one or two of them in zbrush, the software I use to sculpt. I lose the textures when decimating the model and export into stl however

Artisan Guild

I would love to see the elephant. I dont have any scenario it fits really well. But we never see war elephants like in LotR etc. Kinda sad to see people voting mostly for bear, since there is a ocean of bear models already available.

Daniel søgaard Geiser

Perhaps you wouldn't want to be on his platform too when he start getting mean haha :) I should make a kind of gorilla sometime!

Artisan Guild

Thanks for the really interesting informations! And yes, I see how bear can fit well :)

Artisan Guild

Good idea Nicholas! Thanks!

Artisan Guild

I asked on the lens but realized it's not super conducive for actual conversation... These pics made me suddenly realize that there might be some accessible software that could open STL files and let me color them in different color schemes and figure out my colors before starting to apply paint. Is there anything out there that would let me do that?

Andrew Parsons

Maloc, Magar, Mogurk? A giant, tusked woolly gorilla with huge fractured fingernails. I’m thinking there should be a platform on his back with a built in throne—you wouldn’t want to be on this guy when he starts getting mean.

Robb

I would change my vote to Yak

Kory Kennedy

Since they're primarily raiders "to survive" I think the bear fits. Bears hibernate when they don't need to be active and to conserve their energy stores, much like a nomadic tribe might settle in a particularly good area/valley for a season, only to pick up when the weather warms again. As far as names go:Ogruks - or if you want a real world analog you could go for the Migoi or Mi-go (Tibetan: མི་རྒོད་, Wylie: mi rgod, ZYPY: Migö/Mirgö) translates as "wild man". I think Yeti when I hear about these guys.

Time Hunter42

Maybe Monroc. Definitely like the idea of a werebear or totem bear. Doesn't even need to be a mount.

Matthew Wells

Oops totally forgot about that dude - at this rate you're going to run out of creatures to sculpt, your collection is getting HUGE!

Scott Woods

You’re not wrong! But I can’t wait to see your interpretation of an epic bear! Continue the great work.

Marlin Statler

Might also bring up terrain opportunities, too...mythical bears seem to see a lot if use in creating whatever local "weird environmental object" exists...a good example being Devil's Tower in Wyoming, USA.

John Kraemer

It was mostly meant in jest, but I do want to see an epic bear. Many of the options we have already gotten from Andrea (tho more never hurts). I have no doubt that I will love whatever wins. He hasn't let me down for any of his releases.

Dj Dye

Yeah. I thought as much. Then as a single boss or mount in a release or as a reward

François Dumont

I love a name like that, thanks! Looks a good name for their region :)

Artisan Guild

I love Yaks, and they fit perfectly

Artisan Guild

I see your points, but you can make sure I'll make something unique to fit the set, not a generic creature :)

Artisan Guild

Yes, would fit amazingly!

Artisan Guild

Well, these are half-orcs and half-ogre :)

Artisan Guild

Haha I imagined that King Tashokk had too many scars, skulls and spikes :) It's hard to not use those on barbaric warlords :) but thanks

Artisan Guild

Good point!

Artisan Guild

uff that would be really tight a single month to make more than 3-4 giants :O

Artisan Guild

Short and straight to the point! :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks for your comment Evan, really interesting!

Artisan Guild

That's the goal for the next set. Not totally historically accurate as it's another universe, but definitely these could be monsters of those locations in that period of time :)

Artisan Guild

:O I never thought about that!

Artisan Guild

Cool name Tobias! thanks

Artisan Guild

Thanks Atheron, *gurk is a portion i like!

Artisan Guild

It was also a terrifying one to us, cuz it normally meant we might not survive this encounter

Mike Childers

thanks!

Artisan Guild

Thanks a lot! Those combined names would work too!

Artisan Guild

Thanks Serlig!

Artisan Guild

It fit perfectly, but it's not the only right one :)

Artisan Guild

I'm not sure yet, I think more like a unique bear lord :)

Artisan Guild

I'd love to make that, but some sets really needs a remake from scratch... like Ashen Inquisitors, Fighter's Guild and few more :)

Artisan Guild

Mammoth and Elephants would fit perfectly :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks Mike! that's a cool name!

Artisan Guild

cool ideas, thanks Tim! I'll keep them for future releases :)

Artisan Guild

I can't really pronunciate the difference, however Orr'ogg, or Or-rog would be cool. thanks!

Artisan Guild

Thanks Andrew! Cool name for cool monsters!

Artisan Guild

Thanks Eric! I'll do the Mountain Dragon for sure in the future :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks John!

Artisan Guild

Thanks for the info, let's go for a unique name for these unique orc culture :)

Artisan Guild

It's perhaps too similiar to the Frostmetal Orcs I made few years ago :)

Artisan Guild

I don't disagree, but with your skills and imagination there are so many other creative "this would never be done elsewhere options" it just makes me excited for non traditional monsters :D

Modern Artifice

Looks like is a DnD name (as Orog), so let's go for something else to fit this unique culture :)

Artisan Guild

That's a super creative name! A bit long but sounds cool :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks Josh!

Artisan Guild

Just like in italian, Orso :) Sounds cool. thanks!

Artisan Guild

It looks like it's also a name used in DnD, i'd avoid having a creature with a name so similiar, I don't want to give the impressions that these are underdark orcs :)

Artisan Guild

Gracias! Me gusta el rol y hago mapas para aventuras :) si quieres alguno para jugar te lo mando 🙂

Aurora Méndez Mazano

Yes, Yak would be one of my top choice! :)

Artisan Guild

Thank you very much! I love your work, btw ;)

juan food

Ur-Got sounds awesome, thanks Duskland!

Artisan Guild

Good one, thanks Emmalee!

Artisan Guild

Black Orcs sounds cool, but I think it me reminds me too much warhammer :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks Trent, Thraug is cool!

Artisan Guild

I'll make more of those for sure :) This month I wanted to focus on another subrace... I love sculpt long-bestial faces haha

Artisan Guild

Putting "th" at the end of a name is always cool, just like Morgoth :) Orgul is really cool!

Artisan Guild

Gracias Aurora! Bonita mapas :)

Artisan Guild

If they are nomadic raiders, I would like to see a beast pulling a supply/loot wagon. Could make for an interesting campaign element different than another "big scary monster" or "the heroes mount". Something to feel sorry for rather than scared of. Also if the hero could be the oldest and wisest rather than the strongest, that would be different and cool too.

Nicholas Arena

Bear would be cool! thanks Brushbeard!

Artisan Guild

For my universe, except creatures that comes from legends and tales, I avoid names of specific brands :) But cool indeed.

Artisan Guild

I'd love to make a new one with a totally different body. Last one I made was for the Frostmetal clan :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks!

Artisan Guild

That's pretty much the name I can come up with haha :)

Artisan Guild

Haha I can't sculpt so many epic bosses in a month :O ! Thanks Ellis, Hopefully the bear is of your taste!

Artisan Guild

Thanks Chris! Fit perfectly :)

Artisan Guild

This specific variety of orc will be similiar in size to the previous one, so you can easly use them as orcs if needed (well or size up to make them ogres!). :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks James! Buffalo is similiar to Yak, which fit well I think :) bear will work too!

Artisan Guild

Would be amazing, but with 6 modular it's hard to make too much variety, because you would end up not with enough of them to make an army. I tend to use heroic slots for specific varieties :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks Akihisa! Staying healthy is my main goal and priority always :) And I'm trying to make fun sculpts :) Yes, it's true that dragons are "easy option", but I'd love to make a dragon totally themed on this release, something thick, with huge tusks, like a dragon-orc covered in fur. Something that you would not see anywhere else :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks for your information! I definitely don't want to use a used name, expecially if it's something similiar to orcs.

Artisan Guild

big powerful monkey for the win!

Artisan Guild

Drum player has already been sculpted :) It will not simple to fit the modular drum on any pose, but for one it fit perfectly :D

Artisan Guild

Amazing contribution, thank you so much Daniel! :)

Artisan Guild

thanks! Chimera are tricky, often they looks like that the parts are not well merged togheter... but perhaps I can design one who does :)

Artisan Guild

Those are good ideas, I'll save them for later :) I never did a yeti!

Artisan Guild

Would look cool! If it doesn't win I'll do one in another frozen inspired release :)

Artisan Guild

thanks! It will help :)

Artisan Guild

I love that name! But it looks like it's already taken :/

Artisan Guild

A fur covered Wyvern with huge tusks would be amazing!

Artisan Guild

Yes, you can make different varieties of totally unique dragons taking inspirations from certain animals :)

Artisan Guild

If it doesn't win, check the Frostmetal Frosthorn with the ogre on top :)

Artisan Guild

It could rip a small building! ahah I remember Ogrillon from Baldur's Gate I, i tought they were canon :)

Artisan Guild

Looks like you'll get one :)

Artisan Guild

Yes, I love wooly rhinos! I made one for the frostmetal clan, but I also like to make different designs of the same inspired creature.

Artisan Guild

Non one can have enough wyverns :)

Artisan Guild

Massive wyvern with some huge fangs and fur would be cool!

Artisan Guild

That would be really cool too, but having 3 sets with horses (thieves guild, requiem brotherhood and fighter's guild), you can just print horses from those sets for them :) I'd love to use some horses for humans of the same lands.

Artisan Guild

Yes, i like orcish subraces to have Org, Ogr, Orr and so on in their name, it really fit!

Artisan Guild

There are tons of ways to make dragons :) And I'd love to make a unique one that fit this thematic.

Artisan Guild

That's a cool beast! But dragon-ogre is really so specific of that universe :) Have you seen Astaroth the soulforged?

Artisan Guild

Haha I see your point :)

Artisan Guild

Interesting, thanks a lot!

Artisan Guild

I didn't know Orog was in DnD, it don't play it, but no problem, let's find a more unique name for this race :)

Artisan Guild

Yeah!

Artisan Guild

I agree, a different Rhino from frostmetal clan would work too!

Artisan Guild

Ok that was surprisingly cool!

Artisan Guild

Giant arthropods and insects, known as Zeeks, will be visited once again when we will be back in Area (immortal lands, now Tialevor the Tyrant-God reign there). Giant zeeks roams the ash waste there! :)

Artisan Guild

Yes, a bear would fit perfectly as the last time I did one it was for AMAZONS Kickickstarter, years ago

Artisan Guild

I didn't know this Magic theme, it looks amazing!

Artisan Guild

The Kul'dai. If using a name for your universe, why not go wild ?

Dusk

I love the idea of a yak that's been trained to be a beast of war instead of farming. I can imagine its horns having armoured extensions on them.

NL

That’s just the way voting always goes. I feel ya. I honestly hate polls. Maybe because I always seem to vote for whatever comes in last, but definitely because democracy is the death of originality (in art).

B. Griffith

Idk why most of the votes go to the obvious and generic choices. i already have so many of those, bit would love a monkey or iguana.

Niels Korteling

I would love a sweet mammoth mini for polymorph reasons, also a platform on a mammoth could be sooo sweet.

Samuel Thibodeau

Will there be "half-orcs" included by any chance? 👀

Tom Fossell

Orc Hulks or Hulking Orcs

Huw Thomas

+1 for the wooly rhino

Cydalone

I think maybe a complete new named based on which ever god they worship in your world. They could be a race favorite by their deity chosen to lead the smaller orcs and not as intelligent ogres. As with the Hero, would love to see a hulking muscular specimen with bulging arms, metal breastplate, bracers and greaves. 2 handed great sword with alternate helmet on/off. But please cut down on the skulls, spikes and facial scars.

demonwombatofdoom

Grorks

Rob Rab

The real question is, why not have two heads on the epic mount?

Justin Henley

Ogrkes, a rino

MichaelD

And by the way a giant release would be awesome!

François Dumont

This would be something out of the box but in the idea of the troll mount you did for the goblins, a hill giant or an ettin would be a perfect mount for orcs.

François Dumont

The Ogrucs!

GGSigmar

Ogren is cool.

GGSigmar

Orgs

Michael Gärtner Nielsen

I took a look at Norse words for ice, and found the following : Snow-snaer, ice - isaz, frost - fror, and icicle - jokull. The frost giants were called Jotunn or Jotnar, the god of ice and winter was Ullr, and Skadi was the goddess of winter. The afterlife was a frozen wasteland called Niflheim, and the frost giants hailed from Jotunheim. So why not cobble something from these or something else in the Norse language. maybe in a particular region, these guys are thought of as 'lesser trolls'. As for the mount, I think that a shaggy dragon of some kind would be interesting.

Evan Lindsey

Great idea as always! Actually while reading your description about these species I couldn’t help it but got struck with the heavy turko-mongolic vibe for this steppe roaming tribe. I know maybe I got little or no support but it would be awesome to see something brutal even feral looks combined with as majestic clothing as the furred and lamellar heavy warcoats and armors the mongol horde used during the khaganate or the proto-rusin variants seen in the Kiyev Rus. Just imagine the terror an army of snarling orc/ogre hybrids clad in nomadic armor could raise. With recursive bows, bucklers, nasty sabers and an actual, very sinister khan or khagan as the leader or this feral horde.

Alex Márk Jármer

Wooly Rhino seems like a great mount for half breed Ogres. Ogruks sounds ok I suppose.

Daniel Henry

Werewolf orc with a wolf totem spirit around him/her would be great chief

László Németh

I think a wolly Rhino would fit perfect in the setting. My Name suggestion would be „Orogar“.

Tobias

How about Orcagurk for the species name? Both the "O" and the "u" would have the double dots above them. Sort-of Norse sounding...

Atheron

The name could be "ocars".

Rasmus Bækgaard

I like Orog, it may be trademarked by wotc though. Great Orcs, like great goblins. Ogre-kin, Ogren, Deep Orcs, High Orcs, Orkhun, Urog, Orken. I could go on, but it's a tough decision. Love the concept tho

Dj Dye

Maybe call them Ograun?

Serlig

It obvious that the bear is the right choice but it seems many don't understand... lol

Dj Dye

Volibear inspired mystical giant bear? Or something like the golden compass?

Gigwo

Cool idea but you do bring up your old stuff any chance you will revisit some of them and update like you did with your demons?

Rob

I take the Elefant. (I can always use another Elefant-Miniature for painting up a present for my mother.) ^^

Orakel

As you wore describing them I was picturing bug-bears, my old dm had a clan of ruthless banded together orcs ogres and like he called the "K'un K'hali"

Mike Childers

This! <3

Kevin Dictus

Oops, hit return too soon. As far as the monster you want to sculpt, I see a lot of ideas that you've already done - mountain dragon, giant troll, manticore, giant wolf, and wyvern you've already covered brilliantly, and most people could just enlarge their prints of those things if they really wanted a larger version of something like your wyvern. I'd suggest a monster you haven't done yet, like a Chimera or a Cockatrice, or something like a Jabberwocky. I would love to see your take on those, and maybe the Chimera could have a couple alternate heads, since so many Chimeras have 3 heads but are different beasts - lion heads, bird heads, goat heads, dragon heads, I'm sure there are other Chimera heads I'm not remembering. Chimera would honestly be my vote were it there.

Tim Wollweber

I really don't mind that Orog sounds like Uruk - there's plenty of fantasy names that are derived from other fantasy stuff, it helps people identify uncommon terms more easily. Every big name in miniatures does it, including the biggest, GW. Maybe spell it something like Oroggs, or O'rogg.

Tim Wollweber

Hey Andrea we call the Half-Ogres in our D&D campaign Orkul - a completely home-made name but one the players now fear ;)

Andrew Chenery

The concept art was great.

Eric Obara

Fingers crossed for the chunky dragon from the old days, back when we voted on 3-month rewards.

Eric Obara

But hasn't he already fond frost orcs?

John Kraemer

I do like the idea of wargs; but honestly, there's something hugely epic about giant spirit bears.

John Kraemer

If you do the mammoth, how about a howdah, or even a giant rider?

Adrian

Oh I just read Erik's post do ogrillon.

Rusty Baker

I actually like Orog. Makes me think of second edition DnD. They use to have half ogres/orcs.

Rusty Baker

Orog is also a type of Orc in the Dungeons & Dragons lore/books already, so you may want to avoid that. Bharog, or Barogh maybe? Especially if they end up riding bears.

Robin Blair

Frost Orcs, that's what the Orcs call their bigger ogre like brethern who dwell on the snowy peaks in my homebrew setting. :>

Dee Bernaers

Is Ogrillon not an option?

Erik Watts

Since they are a mix of Orc and ogre, basically giant-kin; Orc-Giant-Ogre. Mix all the letters and one result is: Oogric'Tegran 😊👍

Andre Vo Nyseth

Love the idea of a huge bear, I feel that’s fitting for a orc/ogre hybrid too. I don’t think it matters if a name sounds similar to something from another franchise, I think Orogs is fitting!

Josh Tomlinson

I would perhaps tie the name in with the beast that will be chosen. For example if the bear becomes the basis, it might use Latin/Fantasy names for it like URSA. Which can combine nicely with the Orc/Ogre Sounds...

Purrfect-Blinky

I actually like the name "Orogs". It's very fitting and self explanatory so I would prefer it if you named them that. Besides who cares if it's a bit similar to LOTR?

Ramiro Carrasco Jr.

I think they already made a wooly rhino, Frost Metal Clan I think it was.

OOGAFunk

As for a name I like “Korrug” it has the same vibe but differentiates itself enough. I really like the idea of the Bear or Yak for the Mount/mystical beast

Hobby Hermit

I really want a Wooly Rhinoceros. Mammoths are common, rhinos not so much. I’m also a fan of hyphenated names, so how about the Ur-Got.

Duskland

Black Oricks

Michael Bradley

@jay peake I like the Black Orcs.

Michael Bradley

Hoping the Bear outlasts the other options. For a species name, I think "Orkonos" would be fitting. Has familiar elements, but doesn't land too close to already established names.

Emmalee Stanwood

Id have called them Black Orcs as they were always larger than normal orcs. more heavily armoured. Uruk Hai in LOTR were just like black Orcs

Jay Peake

Think alot of the name sugestions are leaning into the "o" territory. I will say how about "Thraug" for a race name.

Trent

I just wanted to voice my opinion that the orcs you did in the past are so cool that they were one of the reasons I joined. I've been waiting and hoping to get more of them ever since. So I'm sad that you are changing them.

Rexidus

I agree about the name being a bit similar to LOTR. I like it though. Maybe Orgul/Urgul. That has a similar vibe to me. Orgroth sounds like ogre and ork but also feels powerful with a kind of menacing vibe. Olgor sounds like ogre too, but also feels brutal and violet with the inclusion of the 'gore' sound. Those are some ideas.

Aichlinn

Se me ocurren, Morkron o Morkhron, introduce la palabra orco en inglés y al final la pronunciación recuerda a la palabra ogro.

Aurora Méndez Mazano

I feel like we've already had a few of these animals as epics, so I vote bear. As for a name? Maybe something that sounds heavy, Orgoc or something like that.

MaximumBeard

Thinking of a name like Rocgree is my submission.

Lifted_Survivalist

That would fall under copyright though. Shame, it's a cool name

MaximumBeard

Go mammoth!

Kyle Simmons

If you go by D&D lore there is already a name for half orc half ogres, they are called Ogrillon. https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Ogrillon

miked0227

Armored wholly rino.

Ken Hale

How about using an anagram made from all the letters in ogre and Orcs, such as "Crogore"

Andre McInnis

Names... huge + orcs + ogres = horkre ? Or huge + ogre + orc= hogork?

Whiskeyjack

I want to see all of those options! 😂 I feel like something off the wall would be a lot of fun, but it looks like Bear is winning and I am just fine with that!!! I am excited to see your Bear!!!

Ellis Meredith

I'm getting a Conan the Barbarian Picts vibe. Bulky, heavily muscular, probably pale or a light greenish tinge, and say in the range of eight feet tall with top knots and body paint/tribal tattoos. the war mammoth would go well with that vision.

Chris Saulnier

Love the pics. Little bit iffy about the half orc half ogre riding wolves. Half orc half ogre I would assume to be quite big. Wolves kind of small, would prefer yaks!!! Big strong. Yak chariots too!

Lars Sundstrom

I went with bear because all the other ideas, Andrea hs already done :D if anything I would say maybe a giant bison/buffalo. EDIT: he hasn't done all but a bear fits the landcape better in my opinion.

James Harrison

Ogrin or Ogre-kin works well. Thought I would be cool to have the tribe be comprised of different half orcs variants gathered from the raided villages as orcs tend to cast out or imprision halfbreeds. Opportunity to reflect other half-orc or half-ogre subspecies.

AV1DGamer

OK first: Awesome that you let use chose! Secondly: Urch! We got the option for some realy rare and different stuff like giant iguana or Manticor mount and the dragonlovers take it away. 😐 Its like putting something against werwolfs and/or vampires, who allways will be pickt over different, crazzy stuff that's not so widely known. So please for the future. Don't let coole and rare stuff comped against "the save option" = basic fantasy stuff that everybody knows. Or we will probably never see the realy rarly or even never before used stuff. Still I love you guys, I never regret to be your patreon for all this time now. Awesome shit! Hope you still have fun and stay healthy. 🤙

Akihisa Futjimoto

Orogs might get confused with 5e Orogs that are basically better orcs but live in the underdark. I was thinking something like Bellowbog but I don't feel confident in that name since they are not Swamp Half orc half Ogres.

William Schuchman

King Kong!

John West

I can't really help with the name, but wanted to chime in that there's a serious lack of orc models for any type of bard or performer, and it would be great to have some representation there - shaman, oral story teller, drum player etc.

Mahal

The yak sounds cool and unique, so that’s my vote. As for the name, if they’re based on the Mongolian steppe, you could use that as a basis. “Tribe of Giants” in Mongolian is “avarga ovog”, which could be collated to “Avoga” or “Ovaga”.

Daniel Beam

I picked Elephant as a War Elephant for a barbarian Orc tribe sounds awesome (also very LoTR, though I maybe off track as you did list it as a 'Mystic' elephant - but it wont win this vote anyway haha). Of the three leading choices currently - the Bear is my pick. The Rhino and Mammoth options remind me too much of the Frostmetal clan Rhino/Mammoth mix you made (which is awesome) Would love to see a Chimera done in your style one day!

Mini Manatee

Orogs are a d&d breed of orcs. And ogrillons are an orc/ogre mix. Maybe play on the orc god “Gruumsh” name something like Gurushi or Grumshar? Wyvern is classic orc warlord mount but maybe some kind of yeti or a dire boar (all spikey)?

Robert

Mammoth for sure, it's something new and will definitely be unique to this set

Something I don't think works linguistically but sounds amazing to me is the Greek okhra which is just the color ochre which I got from ogre with a C from orc.

Uzweilous, The Fan

Orog sounds nice.

Danilo Cruz

I went Wyvern. Please place some large teeth or tusks on the wyvern to keep the big tooth theme.

Sdspecter

Ogrorc, simple as f*** 🤣 For the epic beast, as we've already seen a sort of rhinoceros in the Frostmetal clan, i would assume that a mammoth (or a wyvern, maybe in a sort of WoW style like your) will fit magnificent 😉 maybe also a dragon like the proto ones would fit

Hans-Walter

A Rhino/ orc combo would be amazing.

Joe

There is a homebrew race called "The Ogrillon" They are the result of a coupling between an Ogre and some other race, usually orcs. And I am all for a GIANT SIEGE RHINO! Out on the steppe plains it would allow the rhino to achieve maximum speed before just plowing into anything and everything. I imagine that it could rip a caravan apart in a single pass.

Casey Chelette

There are thousands of dragons and wyverns available. I’d rather have other creature like the wolf or the bear

juan food

Love the idea of a bear, would have voted wyvern, but we already have an epic looking wyvern.

Marlin Statler

A fur Rhinoceros (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolly_rhinoceros) would be great! As for the name Orog...he is cool IMO!

Anthony Dauphin

Sounds awesome! A brutish Wyvern like a Maw-Krusha would be sick.

Kevin DeCoster

Absolutely love the aesthetics of these guys. I may be alone here but I really think a horse mount would suit these best. I'm getting a real horsemen/nomads of the steppes vibe from the art. Would love to see mounted archers. And big yes to a giant bear.

The Disgustinator

Orkgre.

Dragon Daddy

Every possible word beginning with Or or Ogr works, so I'll suggest a name that orc/ogre society might call their halfbreed offspring and I noticed in the teaser and the oni hero: Underbites.

Leviathan

surprised with such complicated and detailed models from this team, people still just want dragons.

Modern Artifice

A massive dragon-ogre would be epic for this tribe IMHO https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/monster/images/d/d0/A44C99ED-4C1D-45DE-8E1C-5745D2004096.png/revision/latest?cb=20180511192948

Scott Woods

Do something unique, too many dragons, rino or mammoth would be be cool

Frederick A Williams

You probably want to avoid the name Orog, as that's very similar to Olog, which is the name in Lord of the Rings for Trollfolk in Mordor. All of the really big boys you see mixed in with the Uruk'Hai are Olog'Hai.

Nichtsda

Is the name Orog covered under the OGL, otherwise it fits well with using them for a dnd/pathfinder game! Also a Giant monkey sounds awesome to me

Mr. Satan, the World Martial Arts Champion and the Earth's protector

Given we've already had both Wyverns and Dragons in previous sets, a yak or rhino would rock and stand out.

Bryn Davies

A mammoth or bear seems fitting

Clint Buchhauser

A massive reptile with a ape like body posture

Vincenzo Gatta

I don't see it listed here but please visit bugs or insects at some point

Miles Lewis

This seems like a perfect place for some Khans of Tarkir beasts. Siege rhino go!

Worc-Garogs. I am crossing my fingers for a bear. A bear definitely fits the Slavic theme these guys have going on. Also, I haven't seen you do a bear creature yet, and I'd dig your spin on one.
