SKÅL ADVENTURERS AND MERCHANTS OF THE GUILD!
The Trolls are finally live, prepare your printers!
Links are located below the next Pictures.
This clan of Trolls lives in the mysterious Svartwood Forest, situated in the frozen region of Skutagaard.
I'm really inspired by this new setting and I'm looking forward to expand this region with more factions soon!
For this release I strongly wanted to recreate that dark and spooky feeling of the old fairies and trolls book.
These Trolls are inspired by Scandinavian and Norwegian folklore tales, so they got some furs here and there, and the characteristic tails.

Svartwood Troll Hunters (Modular Unit)
Trolls comes in all size and varieties, and being one of the most ancient people, no one knows their origins.
They have inhabited the lands of mortals for as long as anyone can remember.
Some Trolls are like wild animals, some are intelligent enough to create kingdoms.
You may come across savage Trolls or great smith and wiseman.
Common characteristics among Trolls are their strength, their arcane resistance, their innate ability to quickly regenerate any wound, their great stature; noses capable of perceiving smells from miles away, they have very acute eyesight and hearing, their blood is sought by craftsmen and alchemists, they breed with other races, and they do not like fire.
Being the Svartwood Forest a passageway to and from the frozen lands of Skutagaard, the Trolls of Svartwood had the opportunity to learn from many races, creating a large community ruled by the greedy Troll King Drungvandel.
The Tolls are self-proclaimed lords of Svartwood, and as the benevolent lords they consider themselves, they allow those who recognise their greatness to live or roam freely through the forest,… for the right price. In fact, the secret city of Trollhule hide a treasure worth of an emperor.
The task of the Troll Hunters is to provide food for their community and to control the borders from any invaders, expecially the annoying and hated dwarves.

These modular Trolls fits 50mm bases.
Troll Hags (Modular Unit)
Some Trolls are born with an innate ability to bend arcane energy and are called Hags.
The Trolls Hags have a few tasks including performing sacrifices in honour of the nature spirits, caring for the wounded and sick, and, to fuel through sacrifices and magic the hidden Runic Doors that makes it impossible to reach the Trollhule, the secret reing under the mountain of King Drungvandel.

To make male magic user trolls, just use modular staff and talismans on the hunters. 50mm bases.
Drungvandel, the Troll King (2-headed Troll Hero)
Another known fact about Trolls communities is: if a Double-headed Troll appears, all Trolls have to bend on his knee or be killed. King Drungvandel thinks he is the undisputed lord of Swartwood and anyone wishing to live in or pass through the forest must pay proper tribute to the Troll King or be eaten. Thanks to their great sense of smell, trolls can sense anyone who enters their territory, after which few dare try to escape. The ill-fated, brought before the king, must deliver as tribute the most valuable thing with them at that moment to satisfy Drungvandel's greed.

Gammelgren the Elder (Troll Druid Hero)
Gammelgren is a master druid and one of the oldest trolls in the Svartwood community, as an intermediary between the peoples of the woods and the Trolls, it is thanks to him that Trollhule does not go to war with the other savage creatures of Skutagaard.
Having a good nose for arcane treasures and magic trinckets, Gammelgren is the one who judge whether the gift and treasures given to the troll king are worth their lives. Gammelgren, taking advantage of Drungvandel's greed, began to collect both treasures of great value and useful for the growth of the community.
One of his greatest achievements was forcing the famous Dwarven Runesmith Toraf Smijern to offer his services to the troll community.

Giant Svart Troll (Epic Beast)
Not even the Svartwood Trolls of the community know where the Giant Trolls came from, they could be a variety of large Trolls whose intellect has evolved less than their size, or they could be the son of Trolls and Jotunns. What is known is that one day a particularly large Giant Svart Troll entered the hunting grounds of the troll hunters and decimated quite a few of them before being knocked out by Drungvandel. The king wanted to eat the invader hearth and eyes, but was convinced by Gammelgren that it was better to try and tame the wild troll to use it against the hated Dwarves.

The Giant Troll base is 100mm.
Gwendrel the Troll Maiden (Huldra Pinup)
Being even rarer than a Double-headed troll, Troll Maidens are mysterious beautiful trolls who are worshipped as protecting spirits and bringers of good luck.
Also called Huldra by dwarves and men, these ancestral spirits often attract and lead incautious adventurers and wanderers to death.
According to testimonies, the human kingdom of Helska, situated east of Svartwood, was destroyed by Drungvandel and his Trolls when its prince, after learning about the healing effects of Troll Maiden’s blood, dared to kidnap a huldra. Today the kingdom of Helska lives only in history books!

Gwendrel come with a 30mm base.
Svartwood troll Lair (Scatter Terrain)
While the common Wild Trolls lives in caves or dens made of animal pelts, the civilized Svartwood Trolls created a great kingdom under the mountain to hide their treasures from the gredy men and dwarves. According to those who have visited Trollhule, the secret entrances to their lair dwells inside giant trees and caves. These Runic Doors are totally invisible to those who do not possess the magical runic activation stones; a defensive system copied from the dwarves.

And the Weapons!
(forged by the kidnapped Dwarf Runesmith Toraf Smijern!)
