MyAirBridge to send Sets

We want to apology for the problem about downloading the monthly releases, we are really sorry for that. We are working on that non-stop since the beginning of the month to provide you a better service this and the next time.
We have tested several services (now and in the past), and all of them seems to struggle of a common issue: traffic limits. Basically even on premium plan services like Dropbox simply take down your ability to share links after the traffic limit is triggered, wich is very low.
Being softbanned like that remove us the ability to share new links for 24h.
Sync (on Premium) doesn't suffer this problem, it's not effected by traffic limits, but having thousands of users downloading from it at the same time seems to create issues to some costumers. Not to everyone, but still it's a huge problem!
MyAirBridge (Live now!)
We joined today the best buisness plan (called Enterprise plan) of MyAirBridge, it works really well, and perhaps it's the solution to our problem! I contacted their company personally and they confirmed me that their system isn't effected by traffic limit and every patron will get perfect download. However, the "public test" will start today, as obviously we haven't tried it with thousand users at the same time.

MyMiniFactory
On another topic, it's like 5 months we are waiting for MMF to finally share our monthly releases through their Store. Honestly they kept bouncing us and delaying it, and till few days ago "their developers were working on it to ensure the best method is used".
We discovered few hours ago that other companies and sculptors are already using this system, and it's really a surprise for us. Not exactly a good one, because at this point we are not sure why we still can't use this system. We will keep push: if this features works for other similiar Patreon we will get it too!
Thanks for your patience and your feedbacks! Let us know how it goest with MyAirBridge while we deal with MMF.

i would recommend just using AWS s3. No limits and cost is fairly cheap.

2020-10-07 14:36:23 +0000 UTCthe easiest way to find out what % you need is to take the flat base and scale it to 50mm and see what % that is and then scale the rest accordingly but to get even 50mm its 49,71% so roughly 50%

If I click "Download Files" then MANY windows pop up, one for each of all the files, not just the ones I selected. If I click "Download Zip", then it start downloading the 2.7GB zip, even though I only selected the two supported claw files...

2020-10-05 11:52:12 +0000 UTCIs it possible to load the zipped folders separately?? for example save one folder as a zipped for the STL files, a zipped STL supported, a zipped chitubox folder, a zipped supported chitubox folder.. that way when we want to download we are only downloading the files or versions that we need / want??? might cut down on the file sizes...

Which would work fine for me - having them ready for fast use on the Patreon, then stored at MMF for later download seems a reasonable compromise.

2020-10-04 21:56:02 +0000 UTCI have not been able to get MyAirBridge to work, yet. It seems to be rejecting the password, but maybe that's just due to traffic? I have verified that there are not superfluous spaces, and I tried using Sync, as well (with the usual eternal preparing files issue). In short, I cannot download the files right now. Maybe I could download them via Sync one at a time. I am not there, yet. I support other Patreon accounts that use MMF or DriveThruRPG (my favorite option). I am starting to see this bottleneck as a decisive issue on deciding who I'll support. Its no knock against the quality of your work, but between sets that I am not enthusiastic about and the difficulty of downloading, I do wonder whether continuing as a supporter is right for me. I don't care much about presupport, although you have the best presupported files out there. I like the signature AG style, and I especially like the mounts/ monsters. I am frustrated, but hopeful that this gets sorted out.

They might really have a technical issue but it is indeed fishy if they have made it work for others. But maybe it doesn't work that well for them now.

2020-10-04 18:05:01 +0000 UTCYeah I'm surprised about MMF, the few I support that use it seem to be having a smooth transition so that's a bummer. It's really great to have them there and download them as needed. That being said I'll use whatever method is needed to get the great sculpts from AG!

2020-10-04 16:30:10 +0000 UTCHm, very mysterious. If it comforts you, I never used MMF for my monthly TF downloads because it is extraordinary slow. I always wait a few days after release, as I do with your miniatures and then Sync always works well for me :)

I still haven't received an invite from MMF for the boss and I'll just keep waiting. Thank you for your hard work and love that you put into these really cool mini files!

2020-10-04 15:38:09 +0000 UTCGoogle Drive has its own issues, but it's stable at least. It does break up large downloads into multiple smaller ones, but gives them weird names so you don't know if you got them all. This is my experience with mz4250's Patreon.

I've seen a couple smaller patreons use a combination of Sync with either GoogleDrive or Dropbox. It's nice to have the option if one is not working that day you are trying to get files. Although I'm sure it costs way more to keep the services. Thank you for giving us options!

It is without question slower than any other service: it took me most of the day to download 1.8gb of files from this month's Titan-Forge release today. I actually don't have any problems with Sync: it sometimes takes a while when it says 'Calculating', but it always clears & you get the files much faster than MMF. Still, whatever works best for you is the best solution! Good luck!

2020-10-04 14:44:58 +0000 UTCYeah, I have a Dropbox account, and the thing I don't like about dropbox is it uses any "shares" (with you) against your limit. Which when you reach the limit, it stops auto-sync and seems to have other problems. I've heard some people complain about GoogleDrive, but that seems the most stable for me.

In particular, Archvillain games have started MMF distribution last month with no problem, previous sets included. Sure, they are half your size in patron count, but why should that be such a huge problem?

I only know that single one and it's only the sets since July, not the older ones, I backed since January. I think it's a beta test, to make sure the new system works, before it's offered to anyone else. Or did MMF told you anything else? But well, if it's a beta test, they could have told you, that they testing the system already with another patreon.

As you put this message topic, I just try to compare both Sync (I'm really happy with and have a few problems with it) et MyAirBridge (I just discover). Sync : 1.73Go data DL (I use your Zip files to DL). It took me around 15 minutes to DL (I have VDSL in France) MyAirBridge : 1/ I have to sign 2 contracts about datause before accessing the DL area. 2/ all my personal security system went red because of intrusive alerts (tries to scan my datas). I blocked everything. It didn't prevent me to DL files, so I continue the test. 3/ It took me around 15 minutes to DL half of the files (Currently, DL is in progress) and I have to DL 4.35Go of data. In short, I really prefer Sync :)

2020-10-04 13:41:28 +0000 UTCI think the thing with MMF is just the content is uploaded just as it is when you are putting the models for sale after the month is over, but each individual patron is sent an invite code to add it to their MMF library for free. As long as their MMF and patreon email are the same. It sounds like it’s a lot more user involved on the creator side as that is a lot of emails to send. That could be something to consider in the future with passed releases. This way the patrons have access to them for as long as they are up on MMF in case they need to redownload them. This would avoid having to keep them on the computer using hard drive space. In any event, I do hope that you find something that works for everyone. I’m content with waiting till the last week or so before downloading. Just until all the rush and updates to models are done. Keep creating these wonderful pieces and stay safe!
