Welcome to a new exciting month at Artisan Guild!
While we wait for Patreon to process the new month payment to unlock the Rakshakin (and Djinni) Set, wich will be probably live between day 2nd and 3rd October, we propose you some sketches to vote: it's time to expand Artisan Guild universe once again ^^
As always, the winner theme of this poll will be further developed for about a month and will be live the following month, in November.
We are really impatient to see your prints of the newly added modular Cavalry Units, coming also with the Rakshakin Set tomorrow. In the meantime, please take some moment to vote for the next set. Here some brief placeholder descriptions for the possibilities:
- Frostmetal Clan
(proxies: Heavy Ogre & Orcs, DeathKnights, Blackguards and Evil Champions)
These elite heavy armored Ogre (and Orcs) from the frozen north are bound to an ancient oath that makes them immortals, and are capable unleash unholy powers, damning the souls of their opponents. Heavy metal armor, chains, some fur cloaks, runes, and damnation 3d effect will be some key design of this set. We are not sure about the modular cavalry, but the Heroic Mount will be a sort of Wyvern, perhaps a damned one. - Bear-Tribe Greatgoblins
(proxies: Bugbears mostly, with the chance of having few Goblins too) Great Goblins are the biggest mountain goblinoids in our universe, towering creatures disciplined enough to have a strict military society and assemble little armies. Most of their equipment and armors will be scavanged from human resources, such horse metal armor here and there, peasant cloths, weapons made from old tools, shield from doors and so on. We like the idea of having some roman-inspired armors here and there. Cavalry Unit will be probably 3 armored bear riders! - The Dragonblood Guard
(proxies: any kind of draconic race, argonians, and civilized lizard-folk)
The noble Dragonblood Guard is an ancient order of dragon knights who swore allegiance to Ghaomir, the ancient Dragon God.
Once human, the spirits of their most valiant ancestors have been infused with that of dragon's blood. In the age of ashes, the Dragonblood Guard order lives in total seclusion, awaiting the resurrection of the revered Ghaomir to oust the God-Tyrant from his throne.
This is what each set is usually composed:
- 6 Modular Miniatures with Swappable Weapons, for infinite combinations!
- Standalone Weapons for Loot, customization and our Weapon Racks!
- 3 Cavalry Units (designed to be swappable between them).
- 2 "Over-the-Top" Hero Miniatures.
- 1 Mounted Hero.
- The Riderless Mount as Epic Beast.
- 1 Fantasy Pinup, suitable as Miniature or display collectable.
- A Scatter Terrain themed on the release.
- A Sculpted Base for each Miniature.

One of my DnD characters is a Dragonborn Paladin who fights with a maul that has the symbol of Bahamut on it's face, so when I strike an enemy it leaves a bruise or scare in that shape. How embarrassing is for my enemies to have to walk around with the of my God basically branded on them. Hope I can mod one of these.

Thankfully, there are quite a few shops on Etsy that sell them. They look amazing and the style matches because, well... they were sculpted by AG.

There are a few Bugbear models AG sculpted for the Lost Adventures kickstarter a while back, and they are *awesome*. I couldn't find any STLs for them being sold, but there are still a few licensed Etsy shops selling models of them. That said, STL files or no, I'll still continue to vote for Great Goblins. If anything, seeing AG's sculpts for Lost Adventures just makes me want GGoblins even more. Finding their LA bugbear sculpts was definitely a nice consolation prize to hold me over until they are finally released ;)

I guess my idea with having it as an bonus is that they have already developed some art and lore behind the faction and might have an idea for it in the game they are designing. So it is a way to both have some of the models without having to develop out the whole set. It makes sense though that they might not want to put resources in something that people aren't voting for.

I run 3 weekly games with a total of 13 different characters and none of them are dragonborn. Yet everyone everywhere wants them for some reason. I am sure AG will do something really cool with them.

One idea I have about some sets getting held up by the votes would be to make a set a possible bonus reward after so many people join. Could even be a slightly smaller set that gets added onto overtime that would be available to all contributors. That way it doesn't change the release schedule of what people want, but also ensures that those models eventually get released.

Can we please just have a vote to determine a release order? Then get new choices in? It might even work like this: get down to one remaining set, release a new poll with new choices, the remaining set gets released first, then work on the new sets in the order voted, get down to one set, repeat. This way, there's always something to look forward to for new patrons and everyone knows when their set gets released. You already have loyalty rewards too so I'm guessing that you won't lose too many patrons who would cancel when a set they don't want is up next. You risk that anyway

The highest response would be sculpted, then the second highest and finally the last. That way everyone will get what they ask for and the more popular option is released first.

By that reasoning, it would indeed work out the best for all. The longest you would ever wait for the set you want is 3 months from the release of the block. Some lucky few get what they would prefer in 1

I know it sucks when your preferred option doesn't win, but at the end of the day, AG can only make one of the sets, and they go with whichever one is wanted by the most people, not the most vocal people.

2020-10-01 19:10:53 +0000 UTC@zephyr: I'm very sorry if you felt like that and I promise, this was not my intention. I have a problem with the poll system, wich is very unfair. There would be better options, than this all-or-nothing system. For example they could make a poll every three months, with three sets. The Winner set is going to be released in the first month, the set with the second most votes is going to be released in the second month and so on. Another option would be a multiplicator for votes on sets wich are for three or more month in the poll. For example: The Bugbear set was the first time in the poll in April (or May, i'm not sure) in June it is still in the poll and the votes on it get multiplicated with the factor 1.2 after the end of the poll. In July it's still in and the votes get multiplicated with 1.3, in August with 1.4 and so on. But again, please don't feel yourself attacked, by my comment, I hate the game, not the player :)

At this point I understand everyones frustration from both sides but the only path I see that would solve the issue is for AG to remove the monthly polling and just do what THEY want to do. While I would have no issue with this as these are their designs, it does take away a little from the community involvement. Perhaps if they did an annual vote instead? Provide 12 options in Jan or Dec or even fiscal year end, top votes go first, then next highest second, so on and so forth. That way everyone will know when they will get their preferred sets and could give AG a better idea on how their workload should go.

I love AGs style and everything they do is great but I've been voting for the Great Goblins for months and it seems unlikely we will ever get them. Most people consistently vote for whatever shiny new bauble being offered up. I already had a kobold set and plenty of dragonborn (that don't even exist in my homebrew campaign). Its getting very hard not to get frustrated. Eventually that frustration is going to transfer to the artists and I'll go looking for other patreons.

Would suit my dragonborn dragoon just nicely. Wading into the ever present debate of monthly selections, I have found that at least half, if not under half of the subscribers don't vote on these polls.

2020-10-01 15:58:50 +0000 UTCThere are truly no good models available for Bugbears out there. I have full faith that AG could finally give us some good ones, y'all. They're a very common enemy used in many situations, they're adaptable to many situations and environments... they're so useful to have. And we're all stuck using figures that look like crap. Seriously, I love the idea of death knight-like Frostmetals (especially with so many iceland campaigns prepping to roll), and I really dig the idea of the Dragonbloods... but how many times will you use those? Ogres are a dime a dozen and there are a lot of viable options out, we just had Kobolds who follow a similar theme to the idea behind Dragonbloods (albeit smaller and weaker, but still). Look through your .STL files and tell me how many good Bugbears you have, and then honestly ask yourself how many times you could have used a good set of them.

Draconic creatures don't look balanced without tails, in my opinion (example: Dragonborn). I would also like to request more then one spellcaster. There are so few spellcaster Dragonborn minis on the market. Some variety would be nice. Thank you <3

If the two overlooked parties of fans banded together, they'd actually be ahead of Dragonborn (but while the other sits at 0%)... but which would they go with? Frosties have the higher vote but Bugbears have been more vocal... N.B. I voted Dragonborn.

Happy to cast my vote in that direction so the folks that have been waiting for months can see them come to life. Whatever the final result, I'll be happy to print and work them into my campaign.

I don't really mind that we'll have a Dragonfolk set next month since there aren't enough good minis for them either =) As a side note — do we as a community think sentient automatons a-la warforged could be part of a release someday? There's not enough of those and general artificer-type minis around either.

There are multiple files I have tried to download from the welcome box but when I go to open the ZIP file the item(s) do not work. Most times if I want a particular item, I have to download through MMF. I just thing Sync is not the way to go. Not sure if anyone else is having problems but if so lets please make aware.
