Skirmish Game talk
Added 2020-06-30 16:25:55 +0000 UTCHello friends, Adventurers and Merchants!
We have a quick announcement to do. You know we spend far more time sculpting then refining posts, let's keep Patron spontaneous ^^
Even before starting Artisan Guild adventure on Patreon we were developing 2 games (and more rough ideas!). Our two main goal is to have a unique RPG and a tabletop Skirmish game to use with all our sculpts. As you have noticed from the title we are now focusing on the Skirmish Game of course!
Thanks to your amazing support it's obvious that we don't need to crowdfund money to make this game!
By appreciating our models and providing feedback you all gave us so much motivation to create that we are more than happy and excited to continue work on this and share it with our patrons.
The Skirmish Game it's not something you are paying for by joining, it will in fact not distract us from our sculpts or subtract any time we are investing in our 3d printable miniature line.
You can enjoy the building of this game and test it with us as free bonus, or ignore it if you wish, it will not be invasive.
Most of the game talk will take place on Discord in a Game Channel (click to join)!
We prefer to not invade Patreon space too much as we understand many of you are here for the models and nothing else :)
Skirmish Game will be free for our Patrons
We started working on this Skirmish Game on July 2015, but we obviously didn't worked consistently on it till now. Today we are not making a post about rules of the game, but we will give you some key information.
- As mentioned before, game is free to our patrons.
- It will stay in Alpha, then Beta, for a while, with feedback in our Discord.
- Models: All our models will slowly get stats and rules to be used in the Skirmish game.
- Rules: We will provide the updated PDF rules in our Discord.
- Cards: Use the Digital PDF from your phones or print if if you prefer.
- Dices: we started with custom special dices, but we are testing with common D6 now.
The Skirmish game Goal is about our sculpts to take life in tabletop battles. Quick game, simple rules, charismatic characters and heroes, little armies (Guilds?) building.
But with simple rules we still want you to feel the burden of those heroes who risk their life in gruesome battles.
We received many messages about making a game for our models since the beginning and well, we are already doing that since a while :)
A quick note, we are doing this on our own just for fun, as we mentioned in past we love to give life to our sculpts, and having games for them is perfect to make them shine. It's something we do spontaneously as a passion.
Thanks for supporting us guys, you are the best!

Well. This is exciting! I bought in mostly for great sculpts for Song of Blade & Heroes and Frostgrave, but I'd love to play what ya'll have to offer officially for these wonderful models.

2020-08-01 01:13:42 +0000 UTCI would like to point out that it can be very hard to find information on discord sometimes. I know that this is a back burner project for you, but would like to suggest that you could make a section for the game on your Patreon and just update it quarterly with the information released to discord.

2020-07-07 14:38:06 +0000 UTCsounds great when would the alpha rules be out and will they be posted here or do i actually need discord?

2020-07-05 18:09:32 +0000 UTCThis might be the wrong forum but are you also working on the rules for TGG range at the same time? If so, are they going to be similar or completely different? I’m still receiving the nice “coming soon” postcard with my RG orders and am very curious. ;)

2020-07-02 18:32:55 +0000 UTCIntrigued! I think my only comment as this time would be perhaps think about a D10 system instead of a D6 based system. I believe you’d get more variety & different units could have a broader range of abilities between them.

2020-07-01 17:34:41 +0000 UTCAs we stated in the post, we don't really care what other companies does. The core rules for this game had been written in 2015 (back in time we didn't had models to play with lol). Possibly something changes during the Beta with feedbacks, but we avoid comparing with other people games.

2020-07-01 08:04:28 +0000 UTCnot at the moment, sorry
Artisan Guild
2020-07-01 08:02:39 +0000 UTCBy the way, i don't think skirmish game should be similar or compatible with Bloodfields (nothing against TF, except when they 'borrow' minis form Artisan Guild). I want Francesca and Andrea delevop their own idea and give life to their world with absolute freedom, since they have created the sculpts.

2020-07-01 06:41:04 +0000 UTCIs it possible to at least share (only) the pdf rules in patreon? I don't use Discord... Thanks!!

2020-06-30 23:04:27 +0000 UTCCool, have you considered a sci-fi miniature line to go along the fantasy ones?
2020-06-30 22:43:07 +0000 UTCAwesome. Best miniatures now have a game😃

2020-06-30 18:00:22 +0000 UTCawesome and also backed bloodfields, so any crossover would be great
Murray Oates
2020-06-30 17:30:43 +0000 UTCI second also this, compatible with bloodfields could be amazing.

2020-06-30 17:25:21 +0000 UTCI second this. I backed Bloodfield and am super excited but having them compatible would be incredible.
2020-06-30 17:12:44 +0000 UTCTitanForge just finished a Kickstarter for Bloodfields. It's a skirmish game with printed models too. I wonder if you guys could collaborate on rules so that both Artisan Guild and TitanForge could produce models for the same game? I already have a lot of GW factions, both AoS and 40K, plus Infinity and Warmachines. I love the idea of printing minis for a game, but it would suck if every Patreon has different rules. If you all collaborated on the rules though, then... then you would be able to build a game to rival GW. Kind of like an open-source ruleset. I went all-in on Bloodfields, so even though you have awesome models, I'm not as hungry as some others for another set of rules. Printing 2-4 factions each for 2 different games is going to take a while.

2020-06-30 17:03:57 +0000 UTCShot fired
2020-06-30 17:02:20 +0000 UTCI like the idea and would love to hear more :) To that end, I’d be quite alright to get the occasional update about the game on Patreon so that we know when rules are available for minis that we got through our subscription. Perhaps there could be a post for major releases (such as the launch of the official rule set), while small updates could be embedded towards the end of the regular mini updates. At the same time I’d still prefer most updates to be primarily focused on the minis themselves.

2020-06-30 16:54:33 +0000 UTCSkirmish with the possibility to improve heroes stats through campaigns, but this part will take place in a later stage

2020-06-30 16:47:57 +0000 UTCNice! I know it's early days, but will it be a fixed Stat skirmish or something with a campaign element and character development?
