Oni Clan coming next month!

This is a very special day, Andrea his hitting 31 years!
We wanted to celebrate showing to the public some work in progress!
Oni Clan, lead by Yoshigruzu, won the poll and will be the release of may.
They will be in various size and shapes! Some will be completely uncurrupted (not tainted by demons) like the leader Yoshigruzu, some of the will be on a more advanced demon shape.
In the picture "Yoshigruzu" the Clan leader.
2 Oni Clan "Kyogin" will be part of the crew, bodyguards of the leader Yoshigruzu!
This 2 Kyogin are basically 2 giant ogres brothers from the Oni Clan, a male and a female. This also means that we will have the first ever ogre lady!
This is also a reference to the roots of Artisan Guild. We did the male one similiar to the "ogre cousin" on purpose, we really loved our first set.
Having 4 modular Oni of regular size, and 2 ogre size onis makes for a much more interesting composition. Considering also that one hero is yoshigruzu, one is a 2 headed Oni Kyogin Magi and still we are sketching the mount.
On another topic, D&D 5e hobgoblins are oriental themed, take a look at the monster manual, these could be used as proxies for them.

Two coming up is more orc. My opinion. Keep up good work I'm sure they will be great either way. Have you ever thought of doing modular heads?

2020-04-08 01:49:25 +0000 UTCIt's not simple to organize this. I mean "how many modular get 4 big teeth, and how many just 2 as regular orcs". We are trying to make all the sculpts as always (mounted hero, pinup etc) and once it's done we can think of more variations if there's time :)

2020-04-08 01:46:23 +0000 UTCWe always do new faces, but of course our style is always visible Now on orc ladies it has not be simple (most complicate faces ever!), for tusk and nose reasons we are probably sticking with a style similiar to our previous orc releases. Models are small and we need to put a lot of emphasis on feminine eyes, otherwise they would not be read correctly once printed

2020-04-08 01:45:51 +0000 UTCWe tought about this a lot, and being so massive (formerly orcs and ogres) it makes senses to keep their chest visible. Fully armored samurai deserve to be sculpted as a set to truly develop the potential, not soon of course, perhaps next year :)

Also the classic Oni mask look is practical, they can be used for defense for the face and in a pinch stab the eyes of the foe in front of them while in CQC. They don't have anything blocking them from eating, although I have had no luck trying to talk right with my lips spread open like that. But that's because I don't have teeth like that, and I'm not sure about kissing either..................... oh well, we'll find out more later.

2020-04-06 16:35:15 +0000 UTCYes, but 3 out 4 examples have these 2 big top/2 big bottom and one has 4 giant ones on the bottom and so I would assume it is a main feature on all of them. Oni examples usally vary with some with 2 big teeth, some with 4 and some with just fang like regular size. If they are all like the ones in the example I guess I can swap heads from another set.

A couple it fine and I know it is something on some Oni masks and stuff but It looks stupid inpractical. Or maybe tone it down so it looks like they could actually bite someone with that.
