March Set Work in progress (Oathbreakers)

Hello friends!
First of all, if you are an Adventurer patron (or Merchant) you can already get the Abyss Demons Set, our February Release, here!

And two quick words about the Merchant Tier. We are receiving tons of messages every day of people who want to upgrade to the Merchant Tier, and we are considering to open new slots. Feel free on giving us your opinion on this topic!

Dwarven Oathbreakers, coming in March
Few days ago the monthly poll to decide the set of March ended and the Oathbreaker Dwarves are the winning entry! We already planned the 4 entries of the next Poll... that one will have a lot of variety!

Here a quick work in progress picture showing a polypaint test of Helga Windfury (heroine who's a kind of Barbarian-Spiritcaller-Shaman-Priestess). The modular Dwarf ladies will sport more armour and different weapons.
The guy in the picture is the Modular A (Oathbreaker A), coming with an explosive Gun-Axe (or Axe-Gun) but also compatible with any other weapon of the set (or previous set with minimum rescaling).
This is the descriptio of the Set (visible in the Poll too):

Dwarven Oathbreakers
The last hope of Lok-Badar, the kingdom under the mountain.
Casteless dwarves who committed heresy and crimes, exiled out of the mountain as alternative to a death sentence. In the Ashen Era, the Oathbreakers redeem themselves fighting for Lok-Badar (the dwarven reign under the mountain), hiding its secret location from the Tyrant-God servants, the Ash-Alfar.
This new set of badass dwarves will be really different from the previous ones (the Heavy Armored Defenders), wielding Wild/Thunder Magic, Imbued weapons, Crossbows, Axe-guns, Runic Power-Fists and other amazing weapons.
Could you resist axe-guns, giant hogs, barrel of beer and ale, extra-long beards (and a short thick Pinup)? Dwarven ladies will be part of the pack too!
6 Modular Miniatures: Dwarven Oathbreakers (male and ladies) with various weapons
Hero: Gino Ogresmasher (seen in the pic, coming also with dual stone-fists!)
Hero: Helga Windfury (Sketched in the pic)
Mounted Hero: Gino & Helga on the Giant Hog (seen in the picture)
Standalone Beast: The Giant Hog
Pinup:  Dwarven Pinup  (probably something involving beer)
Scatter Terrain:  Idea work in progress
Bonus: the month this Dwarven set will be distributed we will make and share updated version of Alvar on his Gryphon cut (riderless beast and hero splitted).

March Set Work in progress (Oathbreakers)

Comments

I just missed those two sets :( That would be a great one year anniversary deal - release the months I didn't get ! lol

Will Hoff

Patiently waiting to buy sets in full to grab your previous Drawf (and orc) set The Myminifactory store doesn't have full sets to buy unfortunately. I was fortunate enough to get an add-on during the AMAZONS! got those sweet Depths creatures. I WANT THEM ALL! All of my friends and colleagues are impressed with your art work. As long as you pump out minis, you have me as a patron!

Joshua Grandt

Helga is awesome perfect

troy

Was looking forward to these when they were rangers. Crossing my fingers for a few more ranged weapons. Especially a Dwarven bow.

CavePainter

Not sure if it would be possible or not, but could we get modular heads for these designs? I am really wanting to use your dwarfs in a tabletop game but that has a need for MANY models. Being able to swap heads along with the weapons would bring much wanted variety. Keep up the fantastic work!!

Brett Thompson

Love the latest clip of the dwarf with stone gloves! Is the barrel modular as well?

Syrkres

Every smoking model will also come without pipe

Artisan Guild

The "seen in the pic" Was related to the poll post :) This is modular A, a new model. Gino got revamped too, to match the new sculpt quality, details and thickness (old Gino was a bit too thin in the testprint.... Almost an halfling eheh)

Artisan Guild

They have in total less than minimum wage because of overpriced minis... I'm not saying they should sell by costs but a lot on the marked is just no go. You do print so you know the costs and see expected margin. Pricing over Wizkid minis costs won't work for big amount of orders because of different market you are targeting then. "Real" players and collectors will be more than happy to pay for such a beautiful, detailed and more unique minis like these but still 80% will go more budget and be still happy. On the other hand in UK it is very not cost efficient to order on etsy for example if you are buying mini for £5 and you need to add £12 for shipping. It will be exactly the opposite way so for example I see no way that I will affect USA market and merchants' community yet I will make it much more accessible for people in UK.

Piotr Sajewicz

What if there were another merchant tier that was restricted to only past "seasons." As in they couldn't sell anything from the current season until a new season starts.

WafflesNwaifus

If you open up more merchant tier slots, it makes being a merchant less valuable as it will flood the market with more minis. for the sake of existing as well as future merchants, I would expect the price of merchant tier to be reduced to reflect the loss of value in being a merchant. plus it would make competing with other merchants easier. I've heard most of them are earning less than minimum wage to keep their minis priced competitively.

Evan Boone

Hopefully soon. Been trying to join the merchant tier for some time now...:-)

Chris Traher

In the March theme poll image for the Oathbreakers, Gino and Gino on the giant hog are pictured.

TC Letchworth

any idea or thoughts on when or if slots for Merchant Tier will open?

Gene Cochran - (The Siege Tower)

Awesome - thanks! I'm slicing all your stuff today and I should have all printed by tomorrow evening - can't wait to see results :)

Piotr Sajewicz

In that case as long as you are under the Merchant Tier you are allowed to sell anthing you print from us :)

Artisan Guild

it's in the plan to have the smoking modular (A) without pipe too :) About the Hero, he's already coming in many variants, having every one of them without pipe is not possible.

Artisan Guild

Just joined your patreon but since I'm going more from FDM towards resin I would love to get merchant licence and grow easier with these. How this is working anyway with you previous models and those purchased on MMF etc?

Piotr Sajewicz

My thoughts exactly. I would love to see a month with a mix of 2-3 races, where the theme is "casters", for example. Maybe reusing older weapons and tweaking them a little (variants, adding "elemental" effects like fire or thunder)

francisco rebolledo

I've been waiting and waiting for months for a merchant tier slot to open up. Hopefully something can be done to give more people a shot. If not, maybe create a waiting list based on subscription length for when an existing slot opens up.

WafflesNwaifus

I hope that the new tier of merchants can be improved, and a wider range of projects can be authorized, such as being used for other game rules without infringing the original model authorization.

Sheng-Chih Tseng

One idea about the new potential merchants, you could always reward your current merchants by opening up the lower tier slots, call it a loyalty migration, and then have us new merchants move into the slightly higher cost one. Then as slots open in the loyalty tier you can move those in the higher to it as a sign of thanks and in turn keep a flow of slots open.

Lexthore Drakein

Nice details in the toes of the boots! I love the Rune-scribes weapons too. You never disappoint

Masterwork Miniatures

Just please don't skimp on the blunderbuss / musket / flintlock / matchlock/ arquebus options.

Rob Silvester

On the other hand, once they have a large collection of raw bodies to work with, they can use the time saved to dress them up in different themed skins.

Rob Silvester

I personally have reached out and would gladly invest in a merchant tier spot!!! In a heartbeat! It’s hard to find good sculptors and you guys are in my opinion one of if not the best!!!! Let me know how much and when and I will give you my money!!!

Erick Lopez

+1 for que when Merchants decide to drop their membership.

Nathan Johnson

He could double as a male pinup

Rob Silvester

Gunaxes! Yessss!

Tucker Loper

great idea, solves some problems for people that don't want to pay extra for postage if they are in the same country. Also if this happens, it would be great to get a list of merchants per country.

demonwombatofdoom

I agree that more slots should be open, limiting by time as a patron and geography sounds decent. I'm not in the U.S so its not saturated here, it'd be great to be able to sell some 😇

Gerard Hurles

I think a forge would be a cool terrain to go with this, or a bar... lol

Anthony Elmore

I think it was given reason they can produce so many in a short space of time is that races are similar and can be replicated and modified per model. if they were all different races then it would require too much work per individual model.

demonwombatofdoom

I've been waiting for merchant tier slots to open up for quite some time. My retail storefront opens in around 1 month and I think prints of your STLs would be a sure seller! I would instantly pledge if slots became available. If you're worried about oversaturation, I would be more than willing to join a tier that was exclusively for brick and mortar retail sales, as I have no intention on selling online. :)

Dallas Fitzgerald

"Hero: Gino Ogresmasher (seen in the pic, coming also with dual stone-fists!)" The first Gino had a pipe, the Dwarf in the pic has a pipe, it's stated "seen in the pic", so the question I have still stands.

Oz

I imagine it will simple to just fit it on the hog :)

Artisan Guild

I'd like the same too if possible

Chris Thompson

Any chance of an alternate head on that male dwarf minus the pipe? Either way, amazing work!

Podok the Mad

Consistently good sculpts, yes I'd love merchant tier! Just got some abs like resin to play with too. perhaps if your worried about too many sellers them region lock it? No point having 30 US sellers and one in UK etc. But also you don't want too many in one geographical area either as would be a pricing war an not as cost effective. 1 for Wales(UK) eager here!

Chris Thompson

Like I already said in another post I would love to get access to merchant tier. Friends and colleagues are asking me for minis and the only thing I can tell them is "Nope I can't". I wish I could do it for free but I simply can't afford it. And I don't want to do it rogue as I think that you deserve the extra money for your incredible work. Really hope slots will become available soon so I can me too start to sell them printed and painted minis, giving me the opportunity to live a bit of my passion. Yours kindly.

Yoan Bouchand

I love this idea, except for the random selection. I'd go for the former and set it up like a queue.

Landon

Include at least one male and female models with caster robes, pleaseee!!

miguel angel

These look amazing!! So excited for march!!

Jonnyballday .

He is in this set just hasnt been shown yet. He is the hero to helga being the heroine. That other model is part of the modular group for the set. Mod A I believe.

Jonnyballday .

i love it!!!

Meik meiner

I think opening a couple more would be fine but as many others have said it will dilute the current market more than it already is. What I would do is establish a waiting list of some sort and if a current merchant drops out of the program then offer it to the next on the list or maybe randomly select someone off the list. Whatever you decide I'll be sticking around. Your sculpts are awesome!

Nick

These look great. I would love to see some higher level shields and accessories with these characters; not just the standard wooden bucklers and mauls.

Wes Cargill

I would be more than happy if I could join the merchant tier

Alex Márk Jármer

A new version of Gino? I loved the Barrelguard Gino, his axe, stonefist and beer cask....AMAZING!! I'd love to see him included.

Oz

Weighing in on the additional Merchant Tiers I would caution you to be very careful. I understand the desire of more people to be able to sell your minis and your desire as a creator to make additional income from backers at the higher tier. Consider the fact that for every Merchant Tier that you add it dilutes the pool of current Merchants even more and makes it harder and harder for them to sell your minis. If they can’t sell your minis then they might drop their Merchant Tier, resulting in less Patreon support - of course someone else might grab it but you especially want consistency in your Merchant Tier. As someone else mentioned, for everyone you add it also makes it harder and harder for you to keep track of your intellectual property. So, if you decide to add more Merchant Tiers I would recommend that you create a whole new Tier at a higher price. It could have the same rewards or additional rewards, maybe a timed exclusive variant / sculpt. In Kickstarter terms the current Merchant Tier would become the “Early Birds” and the new tier would be the “regular” Tier... maybe it’s $10 more, maybe it’s $20. But, by going this route, you maintain the integrity of the current Merchant Tier, you are offering additional reseller tiers to the people that really want them and you increase the funding of your project. Win - Win - Win.

Boomháuer

Will I be able to use Alvar on the hog?

Mo

As a current merchant - for purely selfish reasons I don't think you should open more up. There's already quite a few of us and competition is fierce. Everyone is in a race to the bottom to be the cheapest, usually at rates that are even far below minimum wage which makes it less and less worthwhile financially. As others have said, many other Patreon creators limit their merchant slots which makes it far more attractive as you have more exclusivity. Either way, I'll keep my slot for as long as it remains profitable, then drop to just collect your models if I end up being gouged by hobbyists playing at business!

DungeonTokens

Maybe “Guild” themed 🤔 Thieves Guild, Fighters Guild, Mage / Casters Guild, Artisans Guild 😳

Boomháuer

I agree with Frederick above. You already have a lot of Merchants. Places like Etsy, etc. are flooded with the models you create. I joined as an Adventurer because I loved tour creations and was tired of paying around $45 a month to get a basic set (no ride on or standalone larger minis), and I just recently started getting into 3d printing myself. If you want to I would open a few Merchant spots a month, but maybe limit them to those that have been Adventurers for at least 3-6 months. Also remember that the more Merchant spots you open, the harder it is going to be to track and protect your intellectual property online. Just my thoughts. I love your work!

Nathan Johnson

Hello, I´m your patron only third month (amazons campaign convinced me) and I think I understand your concept of modular and mothly sets of miniature. I have noticed your miniatures have perfect bodies - only mucles and no gram of fat. Life is interesting for heterogeneity and I was very enthusiastic from amazing Fatties from new Zombicide 2nd edition. Is in your perspective place for something like this? It is not criticism, Your miniatures are awesome. I´m only curious. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cmon/zombicide-2nd-edition/description

Michaelovic

If I recall, you have a crossbow available with the Dwarf Hero from the Trouble in Tavern set.

Laurent Maedh

Of course

Artisan Guild

Looking good so far!

TheMorrigan

Depending on how many merchant slots you already have, and I think there are quite a lot, I don't think opening up more is a good idea for the current merchants. And if you do decide to open more up, please limit it to say another 10 or so, maybe 10 every 3 months. Other patreons have a hard cap on thiers and they only open up after someone drops it. Or they add a few every so often. Just my 2 cents.

Frederick A Williams

I would love to see your take on the Warforged from Eberron, I know that's probably a long shot , but one can hope. Would also love to see a set that would be based on class rather than race, i.e. Wizards one month, fighters, barbarians, rogues, clerics, etc.

Ron Purvis

Yeah, there are no firearms in my games, so axe-guns etc are not useful for me.

Alexander

For subsequent months, the options "theme" for the poll could be around something other than racial, just a suggestion

francisco rebolledo

It would be really cool if this dwarf pinup in some way interacts with the previous dwarf pinup. Like one sitting on the barrel and the other leaning against the barrel. Or the old one sitting on the barrel and this one tapping beer from that barrel...

Alexander

Definitely need more merchant tiers

Chris Carter

Can you also include the t pose versions in the release?

NELSON SIEGEL

Please open more merchant teir slots.

NStephenH

Looks good so far! I hope at least one model gets a mohawk and no armor vis-à-vis slayers ;)

Guillermo Andres Calvillo

Will we see crossbows as weapon choices too?

Robert Jönsson

When it comes to dwarves... even women have a beard 😂
