Welcome to Artisan Guild to the new members and hello to every other veteran!
First of all please remember that this month Set, the Sparksoot Goblins is already out! Get your Goblins in this post!
Now let's talk about the guys who won the last Poll.
It has been a very hard battle for the Deepwood Alfar, but they won the Poll defeating the other factions.
With these guys and gals winning the poll we immediatly have to start sculpting them, as they need to be available the first days of January 2020.
Everything is still work in progress, proportions, details and armor parts still needs a lot of work. An important reproportion always happens once we make the first 2-3 modular and compare them to similiar races (for example the Souless Vampires or the Humans we sculpted).
Being these sculpted with their final size in mind (32mm scale), they could look a bit too exaggerated on the big screen, it's normal. Either we exaggerate ears, face lenght and other features or it will resamble an human after-print.
In the universe we are building, Alfar is a race similiar to the elves in other universes. We currently planned to have the 2 varieties of Alfar, Deepwood and Ashen Alfar (with the possibility to expand those 2 main varieties with many classes and new characters of courses).
Deepwood Alfar, the ones we are starting this month, are wild and raging defenders of the forest, using blades, arrows, primal energies and druidical powers to smite their foes. A Deepwood Alfar have no fear to go berserker to destroy anything who treat the woods.
The next month Set will include at least 4 Modular Deepwood Alfar with a variety of melee and ranged weapons and spells (to build your own) and some heroes, including an imposing arch-Druid and a fearsome blademaster heroine. There will also be a mountable sort of deer/stag (a fantasy creature inspired by those animals). We really want to make also asort of Nymph-Driad, who will cover the slot of battle pinup of the month. As some people is concerned with the ability to have male pinups-> well in our opinion every single guy of the next Set is a sort of pinup for the Alfar standard, with fancy poses and hairs, perfect muscles (for the Alfar canon) and visages. Those exaggerated details will get less prominent after prints :)
