As another month starts we need to sculpt for the following one.
As always, once we choose a theme we will have all the needed time to develop their core concept and turn them to amazing sculptures. Every theme seen in the picture above is just the sketch, and the release will feature a complete Set with all the usual sculpts unlocked:
- 4 Modular Miniatures with various weapon options and a war stendard.
- 2 "over-the-top" Heroes
- At least 1 of the Hero will get an extra version on a epic Mount.
- the Mount get a riderless version to be used as beast/monster.
- 1 free special "fantasy Beauty of the Month", themed on the release.
- Standalone Weapons and Spells of the modular models (use them for weapon racks or to customize our other models!)

Here a simple description on each theme models:
Sparksoot Goblins
These cunning and industrious Goblin Clan is famous for their devilish contraptions, spiky blades and infernal explosions.

Dwarven Rangers
This new set of badass dwarves will be really different from the previous ones (the Heavy Armored Defenders), themed on rangers wearing Crossbows, Axeguns and other weapons.
Could you resist axe-guns, giant hogs, barrel of beer and ale and extra-long beards?
Dwarven ladies will be part of the pack too!

Hero: Gino Ogresmasher (seen in the pic, coming in 2 variants!)
Hero: Dwarven lady Heroine (idea work in progress!)
Mounted Hero: Gino on the Giant Hog (seen in the picture)

Beauty: Dwarven Lady (idea work in progress!)
Fun Fact: It's years that we want to sculpt this set, we did some dwarves rangers (not printable) years ago but we are not happy with result... if these guys win the Poll we will finally have the opportunity to make the best dwarven rangers out there!
Elven Rangers
Another common combos among rpg adventurers! There are a lot of elf rangers out there so we will make something themed on the depth of the woods, some sort of Wood Keeper and protectors of the ancent trees.

Mounted Hero: Both will get to ride a giant Deer
Standalone Beast: giant Deer
Beauty: Elven lady Pin-Up
Note: Again, we are not sure why elf rangers are so popular (lol).
Ironskin Ogres Clan
This Set complement the first very Ogre Set we made in May, with heavy armored Ogre and some epic figures! There's an epic giant Wyvern inside!
4 Modular Miniatures: 4 Heavy Armoured Ogres with various weapons
Hero: Ogre Magi/Shaman (probably 2 headed with option for 1)
Hero: an imposing heavy armored Warlord
Mounted Hero: Ogre Warlord on epic giant Wyvern!
Standalone Beast: the giant Wyvern
Beauty: Let's explore new shape :)
Fun Fact: One of those guys will hold a pig! Come on guys... there's also a giant Wyvern! We have Patrons voting for them each month since April... do them a favor and vote these big Ogres :)

I really, REALLY don't like elves, either aesthetically (basically humans with long ears) or narratively (just better humans). If you want to do something interesting with them like making them wild, tribal cannibals with an animalistic edge they can be interesting, but Elven Rangers as presented would NOT be that.

2019-11-05 22:51:17 +0000 UTCPart of why dwarves wasn't selected a second time earlier, is that there where chaos/fire dwarves as a set the month before Duum-Lok was presented by artisan guild, and many here at the time were following there as well. Duncan had also just done a dwarf heavy month, and we were only 1 month separated from the previous dwarf release. I'm noticing mostly a demand for variety first before repeats, and It think that's actually great. I also love seeing how the style from the beginning to no has evolved and become more polished. You folks are great at what you do.

I went back and looked at all the polls, so far unselected: Iron Skin Ogres (in 3 or 4 polls) Duum-Lok (in 3 polls) Secret Set (only mentioned once) Elven Rangers (in 3 polls) Dwarven Rangers (only mentioned once) Insectoids - Zeeks (only mentioned once) Tyrant Eye Set (only mentioned once) For Bosses: Depth Dragon (up for a while now) Forsaken God (2 polls in) Manticore (only mentioned once) Bone Overlord (winning) So many other ideas running in these artists heads as well. I was super excited to see the teaser pictures for Ironskin Ogres, we'll pick them eventually I'm sure, same with the dwarven rangers.

I mean it is the month of Elves anyway so it only seems fair... also if the Goblin Beauty doesn’t have a Santa hat option there is no justice in the world ;) Also, I’d really like to see a rotation in the polls. We already got Dwarves, Ogres and now Goblins so it would be nice for them to not show up in another poll until the rest of the planned races get a shot. That way you know you’ll eventually get the set you’re after instead of more of something that you won’t necessarily use or even print. Another way to do it would be this month you had a poll with four races and Goblins won. Next month you have a poll with the three losers and one of them would win, etc etc until those four are released. Then you have another poll with four more sets and repeat the process. The supporters win because they know over the next four months they are getting some really good content and the creators win because they can plan and work ahead easier.

Even though they aren't elves, you get to have a set of goblins made by Artisan Guild. Hell, I'm usually really picky with miniatures, but something about Artisan Guilds art style and sculpting that makes me want to collect all their works of art. I dunno guys, I mean common, they are building a unique and custom world here, and we get to join along and suggest routes to go. Don't worry, elves will come back around. I just enjoy the company and awesome sculpting that's going on around here.

I've taken to just using horse bodies and meshing the tops but even than the only armored ones have saddles and centaurs would not have saddles.

If we get them out of the way... we won’t have to have people clamouring for elves every month and it will make the overall vote more open and less “ELVES!!!!” Also we’ve had humans, dwarves and Dragonborn (the lizards we’ve just had)... which are three of the primary playable D&D races. If you choose elves that gets another playable race out of the way and gives a lot of D&D peeps something they want.

You previously said the goblins already available were decent substitutes for the proposed ones, and now you say they are too different to be useful. You can tell a weak argument by how easily a person abandons it for something completely different - especially, as in this case, for something incompatible and opposed to the original argument.

That's alot of options for alot of different types of characters, I view the fact the goblins are technomancers as a negative as they won't fit in a traditional fantasy setting, others will like them depending on the settings they use them in.

They are bog-standard fantasy melee footroops. Of the specific examples that have been used in this discussion of readily available alternatives, one is a near carbon copy and the other is very different.

"Just check thingiverse", "It's been done a million times", etc. But now we have tons of modular fighters of super high quality. AG is a tier of their own in quality, and I can't wait for what they come up with to make their Elves as unique as they are high fidelity.

2019-11-04 19:39:02 +0000 UTCSince when has Vamps looked like Elves. lol and I very much doubt the themes marry close enough for them to be able to do that. and its not that surprising about the Deer have you seen the Hobbit and the Giant Stag with an Elf on the back. its a trope all fantasy for the most part is a trope of something now. I'd like to see a new Elemental Race over the old ones, but out of those suggested my order is Elves, Dwarves, Orgres then Goblins.

There may be a quality difference, but there is little difference in what niche they would fill.

It's not an original theme, but between the goblin options, it's the less common of the top 2. If the elves were similarly, slightly non-generic - even high/city elves instead of more bow-wielding hippies - I might be more excited about them.

So for example, Iron Skin Ogres, and armored Orcs, Light Armored Dwarves and Dwarven Rangers and stuff as part of a kickstarter later on (not right now, you're already doing a ton from the most recent one, but maybe in 6 months). Then all these cool things that keep getting voted tot he side because new is more interesting to the patreon, will still be produced and you can make them in whatever combo you want, including one offs or 3 offs or however you like it instead of a full line of 6 figures plus mounts, etc. I just like your work, and will support it as much as I can.

Elves are anywhere from super skinny to edgy to not very good quality. Please vote for elves or switch your vote to elves, there are approximately four billion great goblins out there to choose from already and few quality elves. AG elves would be the end-all and would be smart from a business perspective too.

Like it’s clearly not an incoherent set..., each set of designs seem to be the formation of a particular faction in the fantasy world they’re making, however their are 3000 Patreon’s and all of us like different races and a lot of people are here to support different games. For example I play D&D and AoS. I know people who are padding out their AoS sets with minis from this patreon... but that’s no use to many D&D peeps. Equally I know people who just want to bulk up their D&D campaigns and to do that they need a whole range of races and minis that someone playing warhammer would never need. It’s about being fairest to the most people. If they spent the year, every other month, giving us ogres, then I personally would leave the patreon... as I don’t want an ogre army that I’m never gonna use. Like this month I voted for elves.... I don’t really want goblins. However as it’s decided by vote and what most of us want, I’m cool with that as it’s the fairest way forward. As it stands they use votes to decide the months race... ogres have been up 2 times; your fellow Patreon’s have spoke, we don’t want more of them at the moment. I don’t mind them being put up as an option... but I would very much be against “right you’re getting more ogres this month and no one gets to vote.”. In my opinion, anything that comes in the bottom 2 places, 2 months in a row... should be put to one side and maybe cycled in as an option again the next year, as continually keeping factions that haven’t won previous months votes in the mix, means eventually were gonna get to the point we have 4 factions that most people didn’t really want. As far as I’m concerned I’m gonna keep voting for factions and races that haven’t seen a build yet. That way the most of us get at least something we really want.

Once a race has been done, like ogres or dwarves, shelve any variations for a lot longer. So many untapped races to explore before revisiting others. It would be awesome to see the mount be a war mammoth. Sure a wyvern would be cool too, but there has been a lot of reptiles recently. Also for future consideration, you guys did a the fighters guild, how about a thieves guild set? That would be epic.

Im sure its a case of these guys designing many things THEY'D like to see come through and giving us the vote on a few of them. Each design, as most things with creatives, would still be special to them so I doubt they'll scrap any of their ideas completely. Besides, the Dark Ones will need some slaves eventually, so I'd say the dark-flame dwarves will come back too. :)
