Do you Like Huge Models?

EDIT: The New Tier will gave access to All we release each month (Adventurer) + the Giant model. But also the Adventurer Tier will get better when we reach new goals (more models!). Adventurer Tier will always get upgraded as we grow and it will never get worse because another Tier exist. Thanks!

Hello guys! The sketch is a rogh idea we did very quickly, read more if you are interested in big stuff like that :)
We are reaching quickly the 150 Patrons goals to unlock the Party Camp, but what excite us mostly is the far away 200 Patrons Goal.
If we hit that amount we will have enough resources to actually take much less commissions and work more here for our Patrons. This means one thing: Huge/Giant Miniatures (gargantuan, XL, call them as you prefer) with incredible design, attitude, and very dynamical poses. Cutted to be printed easly of course!

Think of rpg most wanted huge models, if there's something you need write it in the comments. Archdemons, Giants (Frost, Fire Giants and so on), Troll Kings, Dragons, Giant Arthropods. Even imposing Bosses from good videogames (soulslike anyone?) or crazy giant insects (you know Morrowind province?) are good inspirations :)
For sure, our Gargantuan models will not be "resized" regular miniatures. They will have all the necessary details to be really big and fantastic. They will also be very good for people who prefer to use fdm!

The Hero Tier (work in progress, unlock at 200 Patrons)
The New Tier will be probably named Hero, and will have access to everything that we release for Adventurers each month (actually 4 regular Minis +1 Hero); with the addition of  The Huge Model of the Month (we named it Gargantuan yesterday but it's a wip name. It's not referred "exactly" to D&D gargantuan size).
We will really need a many days of work to make killer design, sculpt and optimal cuts (with joints and extra parts) for these giant models, so we think that a 15 $ pledge should be good for the Hero Tier to have access to all these sculpts.
As for all our sculpts, these big models will expire at the end of the months and will be uploaded on MyMiniFactory, so anyone could buy them 30 days later. Final price for those gigantic models will be around 20 $ alone on the Store, and here on patreon who pledge for 15$ will receive them with all the other regular and heroic Minis!

In the future, as we grow, even the Adventurer Tier will receive upgrades, as we did with the 100 Patrons Goals. In fact at 300 there will be an additional Hero model (like our Cannoner Gronk Boomshot) for the Adventurers (and future Heroes).
Let us know what do you think about this, it's still an early idea.

Honestly it's the best idea. if Patreon can send automatically message with the Link to our suppoerters who stay in for 3 months without leaving then it's great. Doing that manually it's not so easy. Not so used to manage menus in patreon :)

Artisan Guild

I'm not completely sure it's doable, but it's worth a look !

Groeldor

Hello Rémi this is a very good idea. I didn’t know there was this kind of option in Patreon. Thanks we will look into that

Artisan Guild

As much as I'm liking gargantuan models, I think I will not be able to update my pledge. Increasing 6 more dollars, to something I'll probably never be able to use in one of my games would probably be too costy to justify it. Maybe you can provide them in the adventurer tier, but not at a monthly update, but few times a year, with a minimum of 3 month (or more) subscription to have access to it ? In that way, people would have to stay subscribed to have it, and it could also drag more people to follow you ? It really depends on how many people would jump to the new tier too. If you already have some people that might go for it, it may be worth it nonetheless.

Groeldor

maybe also look at CGTrader and Cults3d the more platforms you are on the more sales you will get and you can link back to the Patreon in the description of the models, single revenue from one-off sales and passive income from the patreon, just a thought

James Rooke

you'll like the next Lady models then :) we are making an update post now

Artisan Guild

This is really a good idea too! researching on how to make coupons :)

Artisan Guild

maybe instead of creating a new tier, you offer different discount coupons for the existing tiers to purchase them on MyMiniFactory, that way you can release them at whatever pace you like and there is no pressure to do a giant model a month

James Rooke

I think that's a great policy. and when my startups all IPO I can up my tiers :D

Robert Maefs

we will always unlock extra models for lower tier. at 300 supporter we have a Goal with +1 Unique Hero. Also yes, the big models will be on MyMiniFactory for who want to buy them as standalone

Artisan Guild

I have a weak spot for Balrog. That concept is amazing. I won't be able to swap tiers but if you offer them one-off I might pick up one or two. Or if select "voters choice" models migrate to lower tiers when you reach milestones that would be neat too.

Robert Maefs

That's a very good idea :) !

Artisan Guild

I would be in, but as others have said, I have more dragon files then I will ever print. something I would like to see is something like this, not and exact copy, but the same concept... <a href="http://www.coolminiornot.com/364789" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.coolminiornot.com/364789</a> I love your figures so far!

Frederick A Williams

thanks :) You Adventurer Tier will also be expanded for no additional cost as we grow in number!

Artisan Guild

Personally I think female miniatures that aren't half naked and sufficiently bad ass. I'd love to see some Pirate themed stuff. Gorgon /Skaven or even more common Goblin/Ogre/Orc. Also larger things like Dragon Turtles, Kraken, Hydra, Ent

proudfootzor

You are right, of course, but gargantuan models are still used only sparsely in most games. I can print and paint multiple medium or large size models for one gargantuan model. Not that I have not painted gargantuans, too. ;) In terms of a garantuan tier it comes down to cost and value. I support multiple 3d mini patreons and my budget is limited. So far I have not supported gargantuan/giant tiers in other patreons and decided to join new patreons (like yours) for the same price it would have cost to increase my tier on other patreons to get 1 gargantuan/giant per month.

Grey 0815

Thank you Helmut :) It's very nice to see all our most recent commissions for you there. Something inspired by that siege beast could work perfectly here :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks Ondrej, we will keep that in mind of course :) So much inspiration!

Artisan Guild

Hello, this is a very good feedback honestly! But we also unlock additional models for the Adventurers :) The Goal after that is in fact one additional unique Hero for all Adventurers, and this is just for now. As our fan base grow we will be able to make new stuff for the Adventurers. The Giant models we will make for Hero will be available in MyMiniFactory and you can just take the one you like. Thanks for your comment :)

Artisan Guild

Thanks Greg, so many good ideas in a single comment!

Artisan Guild

Part 2 ;-) I am personally no fan of to big models, but I think that some people will like them. Thats only my opinion. Last here is the link which show some miniatures of a roman fantasy army which Francesca and Andrea sculpt for me. And yes the decision to do most models in a formation, slow advancing pose and not in a wild fighting pose, was mine ;-) <a href="http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=114640.msg1434594" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=114640.msg1434594</a>#msg1434594

Helmut

I see no problem with additional tiers. Who like to spend more can do it, the others remain where they are. In the last days I have take a look of some other 3D sculptors here and in my opinion Francesca and Andrea do the very best sculpting. With more life in the models, without put all models with the “modern style” standing with one feet on rocks and boxes or dancing around like some infinity models. They are not only the better sculptors in my eyes, but also they find a very good compromise of sculpting the poses not simple frontal looking or 2,5 D :-). And yes, I am a big fan of them.

Helmut

Big detailed models are always nice. Especially pre-cut for resin printers. I would say there is already plenty of dragons and generic creatures around. Should you do something close to Keeper of Secrets or Lord of Change I am all in immediately.

Ondrej Masin

I like so much your style. but unfortunately many of us can not migrate, I understand and value their work a lot and I know how long it takes. but for other patreon business models, in my opinion it works better to have more sponsors at a lower cost than few clients that pay more. even so, and other options such as commercial license or things like that. and you encourage us to invite more people to join to unlock the objectives and that the sponsors have more rewards for the same price. Do not give me a good reward that when we are more we have to pay more to receive all the models. I do not say it with the intention of offending or I think it is a bad idea, I understand the point, I just think that it could be put in another way. the hero level was offered from the beginning of the patreon. excuse my English so bad

arda workshop

Love the idea, and I know what can do with a larger model and your incredible talent!!! A beautiful Hydra, Hammerclaw Crab, Leviathan, Tarrasque, Storm Giant, Purple Worm, Really really big spider on an awesome base, War Mammoth, some kind of cool dwarven engine of destruction, your Ogres riding rhino-like creatures, Orc Boss on a wyvern!, Orc boss on a dinosaur...so many amazing things you can make that people will gobble up!!

Greg Kourakos

You will always have the option to scale down one of those big models to "large". Also they will be cutted in various pieces (arms, torso, tail, wings etc) to help you print them.

Artisan Guild

Thanks :) feel free to give advices on not humanoid monsters, you might surprise us with stuff we didn't even know :) For Kobolds, we still prefer the "dog headed" version of old D&amp;D and baldur's gate, but who knows... :)

Artisan Guild

If you want to go gigantic there are always dragons.... But I don't think that I would go for a gargantuan tier. I print in resin and my bed is not very large. Prefer mid size &amp; large monster.

Grey 0815

Non-humanoid monster are what I'm mostly looking for, gargantuan or not. There are so many monsters in the D&amp;D / Pathfinder Monster Manuals for which no good minis exist... Humanoid monster are also ok, but please not the "standard ones" that have been done to death (Orks, Goblins, Bandits, etc). Something likes Kobolds or Gnolls, for which nearly no good minis exist, would be nice.

Grey 0815

Not so experienced in what players use at low level excet bandits /kobolds / goblina. What do you suggest :) as gigantic models? ps: there will be female models of course!

Artisan Guild

We love things with tentacles :)

Artisan Guild

cool ideas Alexander :)

Artisan Guild

thanks Paul! As always we will use polls :)

Artisan Guild

Good low level D&amp;D models are harder to come by as well as good female characters. Those are the things I almost interested in.

Jim Bragg

Any of the Elder Gods from the Cthulhu Mytos

Trapper939

It would be a good idea. Do you know how we can reserve some place for them? An "Early" Hero Tier would be accessible to anyone...

Artisan Guild

Don't get me wrong. Fantasy will always be my first love with models and I definitely don't expect insects to be a popular choice :). I'm just looking for something "new" that isn't reaching the saturation level on the market.

Paul Dawkins

I'm prolly more after miniatures but I don't think I'll be able to increase my tier so I prolly won't get to try them. Personally I'm not really into insect figures - I'm definitely after the fantasy characters, as I may have mentioned ;)

Donna Crawford

I would love to see something from the nine hells.

Masterwork Miniatures

Will there be a upgrade option for the first 100 patrons to have a slightly discounted tier option as an early adopter and supporter?

Kilroy

I agree on trying 'new' things. As said, a dragon is super cool, but there are 100s out there already. I'd suggest a Kraken (not a lot available out there) or if you really want to be unique, a cool purple worm bursting from the ground (maybe 1 or 2 available out there?).

Alexander

I like the idea and would definitely move to the new tier to get a gargantuan model. As far as inspiration goes, while I love dragons, I've got more dragon models than I'll ever be able to print out. Seems like everyone does those. While I'd love to see your take on dragons I guess I'd like something "new". I don't see a ton of giant models and would like to see those. I also like the ideas of insect type models. I wouldn't definitely not mind some demon/devil models as well. There are some of those out there but not as many as dragons or so many that I have a ton of them.

Paul Dawkins

I think its really cool, and its a good idea...I just cant afford to increase my amount per month. With all the other patreons I subscribe to, it adds up fast! I do like that the items will be available for outside purchase afterwards, in case there is something we really want, we can buy it.

Tucker Loper

Great idea, I know for n extra $5 I'd be in for a huge sculpt
