Creator Update (6/14/2023)

Hey guys! Long time no talk! Yeah, I've been a little busy! Life's been getting a little hectic, so I haven't had time to do art stuff, but I've got some good news for you all!

A demo for "Diamond Eyes" VN project is currently being made! Yup, it's confirmed! It's still a solo dev thing for now, but I want to make sure that everything works out JUST how I want it to! As of right now, the script is finished, and the character designs are all set! Programming and Background Art are being worked on as you're reading this.

The demo is going to be a vertical slice of gameplay, that'll give a taste of what a full game COULD be like. Though a FULL game as things are now isn't very likely, a demo is much more feasible for me - being one person - to finish and release! However, that could change if there's support for more content!

I'm going to be working on this demo off and on, and sharing my progress with you guys here on Patreon as well as publicly! I am also considering a tie-in comic that will go with the demo at the moment, nothing concrete about that just yet. I'll keep you guys posted.

As for Patreon, the tiers and rewards are going to undergo some changes to better fit my current goals.

The first major change will be the removal of the TROPOSPHERE ($1) Tier. Instead, the STRATOSPHERE ($3) will become the new first Tier, and the price will be reduced from $3 to $1. The MESOSPHERE ($5) and THERMOSPHERE ($10) Tiers will maintain the same price. However, rewards will change amongst the Tiers.

As for the rewards, for now, they'll be mainly for support, however, incentives like: 

- WIPs & Timelapses (Animations / Art)

- Early Access Alternate Versions of Art

- Early Access to New Art

- & High Resolution / .PSD Downloads

- Unique Discord Roles For Each Tier

...will still be available!

But there are some new Rewards joining:

- (Diamond Eyes VN) Early Build Access!

- (Diamond Eyes VN) Your Name In The Credits!

- (Diamond Eyes VN) CG Wallpaper Downloads!

These changes will take place before the month is out, and possibly even sooner.

As for FANBOX and Subscribestar, I might retire FANBOX, as nothing's really happening over there, and Subscribestar will be where I ultimately fall back to if Patreon doesn't work out. 

Continuing on, I'm aiming to be more consistent with my work for the latter half of this year, and though I will not be able to to do daily or bi-daily content like other artists (who are more blessed with time can). 

My current plan is to work and release in bursts; working on a bunch of pieces at once, and only releasing them when they're all finished. However, Patrons will be able to see them as SOON as they are finished. 

This is better alternative for me and my current schedule (with work and school) than trying to come up with something every other day, which burned me out for most of the earlier half of this year. This will also give more love to my Patrons who have supported me over these past months! Thank you all again for the support, you've really gotten me out of tough scrapes every now and then.

Most of my time now will be put to working on the Diamond Eyes demo bit by bit and releasing my progress.

As for commissions, I don't intend on opening them again anytime soon, and there are still a few I have to finish up. Those will come in the following days. However, I am looking at auctions and YCHs as a means of income from my art, as I've come to realize that commissions (though profitable), can't currently fit in my current schedule. 

People have asked me time and time again about my commissions being open, and as always: I'll make an announcement when they do open. For now, they're closed until further notice!

I'm also working on creating a wiki for Diamond Eyes, which won't be anything super fancy, just a Google Sites page that anyone can read! Many have asked me for details on the AU, and I've never been able to give a concise response, so I hope the wiki will help with that! Later down the line an actual website could be made, but we're sticking with free alternative for now! :D

The Discord Server also needs a revamp. I'm not always there and it gets pretty quiet, so I want to make sure it's looking good before advertising it again, y'know, just in case this new thing about Twitter DMs will become a problem for me in the future.

I'm also trying to put lore in the forum pages whenever I get a burst of inspiration! Just random things I've finalized to tease about the AU.

Further still, Diamond Eyes isn't the only AU I have, but there's another Splatoon AU that I've been drafting in a similar vein to Diamond Eyes. I know I've built my follower base on SU, but I'd love to branch into other fandoms, too! Including a "Nintendo Princess" centered one that I've also been drafting in the background.

I know, there's a LOTTA things on the back-burner, but that's only so I have other things to work on when I get bored of one thing.
