Devblog: switching from 2D only to 3D optional

To state the obvious, switching from 2D to three different perspective modes (3D overhead, isometric, 2D overhead) is a tremendous undertaking. The greatest difficulty of which is converting 2D sprites meant to be seen from above into 3D models. For now the game will have a Paper Mario-esque look in 3D, while it will look perfectly fine in isometric or 2D. Certain models I have already begun converting to 3D (such as beds and couches).

That's a very small bed for a lot of naked people.


It's actually a lot of fun, but also sometimes tedious and time-consuming. I have begun the process of converting the game's starting areas (including one rather large city hub) into 3D and the process is going smoother than anticipated, except for some lighting issues. Perhaps eventually I will be able to add dynamic lighting to the game.

As soon as we hit our first Patreon goal of 50 backers, I'll start to discuss what kind of content will be in the demo. I expect the first iteration of the demo will be largely story, combat, and some sex scenes, but how it shakes out is still undecided. I am currently conflicted on what kind of art style/animation will be used for the sex scenes, and it will probably come down to price, the schedule of the artists, and patron feedback.

I also anticipate adding additional rewards to all patron tiers based on the amount of lifetime support, including adding content you want to the game :D.
