Weligburh (Old).

New Concavia content while you wait for the next instalment for Humanity Lost.

Here’s some Concavia concept art for you all, it’s now outdated, but I’ll leave it here for people to stumble upon so they can see how this project has evolved over the years.

I won’t go into too much detail on it here because there will be dedicated posts for that, but it’s a combination of things. It’s not what would be called a “hard” magic system. Magic stems from the beings that created the world, the gods. Only those with ancestry from either Alves, Albes or Dwalves (the different groups of children born from the different parings of the gods and goddess) can wield magic. Magic is preformed via a connection to the divine, basically combination of praying and by using the true names of the things you seek to have influence over, a true hearted belief in the magic you are trying to perform is also required. Magic users employ several aids to perform magic also such as wands, orbs and staffs. Monasteries are places where the Nunacairn live yes, they’re usually carefully maintained pre-flood structures with small settlements around them for farming and such. Nunacairn wizards study ancient tomes and scrolls of lore and magic there, keeping the old ways alive. The outside of Concavia is surrounded by the eternal Ether, essentially endless darkness. Támhas, the primordial god of darkness’ disembodied spirit resides there, so does Támhas’ son Dhegoma’s spirit, god over the dark earth, who was banished from Concavia in the war of the gods and also Swoma the goddess of fungi, sleep and mind altering substances. It is said that the forsaken and forgotten dead wander the orb in eternal shade and also the vast majority of the Dwalves too. It is a mystery to all but the dead, no one knows for sure what is out there. There could be kingdoms of the dead and oceans of lava that light the gloomy landscape, great necropolis’ could line rivers of fire with Dwalven lords who rule from their shadowy towers. The mind can imagine such things, but no one knows for sure, only the dead, it is truly an underworld.

How does magic work in Concavia? Are the monastery's the places were the Nunacairn still live? What exactly is outside Concavia?

Erika Spooner

Haha seem familiar?
